  1. Will definitely take you up on the offer Pooey if I do the course, especially with that gorgeous Field pup in your sig Yeah well I definitely do want to do it at some stage just depends on the monetary situation. Uhoh you're going to steal Morgie! You and me both! And it's all good - Bec can stay with me since I'm right near there too.... she already has a dog exactly like Zero, she doesn't need another one
  2. Wow - what a great start to Zero! I wish my sketching was even half as good as yours! Here's a shot with Zero's ear in it:
  3. Very very cool Nik!! Love the sparkler one!
  4. Awww - I hope the last one's snot. Disorder will love it!
  5. Definitely see a professional (I recommend Steve at k9force) before you put one on your dog. I had big problems with my dog (pulling and dog aggression) and used to prong collar on him. He is 100% better and the prong gave very very fast results but it is only a tool and doesn't replace good training.
  6. Mine too! I've given Zero natures gift (when i couldn't get anything else), ziwipeak and eaglepack when he's had different problems - the best one though was when he was constipated for a few days and the vet recommended i buy him some pedigree naturals tinned food.... needless to say he didn't have a problem after that!
  7. Thanks - I dislocated my knee on friday and I have no idea who long it'll take to heal. A lot of my problem now is that it's so swollen I can't bend it. I have a feeling i'd be back a lot faster if i could actually move it around!
  8. *sigh* I think I'm out of the challenge for this month. Because I'm on crutches I'm not maneuverable enough to a) bend down to focus the camera, b) move fast so I can get the light where I want it to be and c) not able to carry a camera bag, tripod and use my crutches at the same time. Damnit!!
  9. Zero is proof that they can. He was terribly dog aggressive so I took him out to see Steve at k9force, implemented the right training routine and now he's fine. Zero with Terranik's Jedi - who is now Zero's best friend: And Zero with Terranik's Jedi and Ahsoka, and Wolfsong's Mistral (on this day he was also with Aquaticmalamute's Boh, Corvus's Kivi Tarro and Penny, Snofyre's Magnus, Sanji and Romeo and Wolfsong's Lestat as well as the people next to us's Samoyeds): It can definitely be done!
  10. Hey! There's an idea! My niece has stuffed my mini-maglite and it won't work unless I unscrew the top. I'm finally going to get around to doing my idea tonight! There won't be a photo from me tomorrow though... i might have to do a few shots tonight...
  11. What dog sports are cavaliers eligable to compete in? How do they go in sports like agility? Would you recommend them for someone who already owns a bigger dog? Would they be able to hold their own when playing with a large dog?
  12. *sigh* You and me both Nik! I would love the 100mm.... then again, I'd love most of the things on that list.
  13. Beautiful! You're very talented!
  14. I'm sure someone else has had the idea - it's been staring me in the face for weeks!
  15. I wish it was as easy as that! I need to have the light shining on the front of someone to get the shot - hmmmmmmm. Maybe I'll be able to rope my friend into doing the shot for me tonight...
  16. Oooo - I love the second one CM! Is that a melted candle? The base of it look ominous! Not part of the challenge but I decided I would try and get a good photo of Mow so you can see the idiot who ruins my photos: One day I'll learn to use textures - these would look so much better with a texture over them to make them look aged! And the mandatory fruit bowl (yes, I did intend to keep the tags on the lemon - my modern take on a favourite renaissance still-life painting ): I have the best idea for another shot but I'm going to have to get someone to help me - i need 2 hands to be in the shot and a hand to move the torch around!
  17. I can quite easily get it on video! Mow goes nuts when i get the torch out. I can't do this challenge with him in the room!
  18. I envy anyone who can get a shot like this of their cat! Mow just wants to chase the light! I got the torch out the other night and he ran head-first into a wall to try and catch it!
  19. Lol - the sign outside the cemetary we went to only had a warning about vandalism! The security guards that patrol the cemetary (among other things) saw us there - the laughed when i told them what we were doing and then left us to it! I suppose I should go and take a photo tonight.... i might just go to bed instead though.
  20. I can see the dog!! If that's what you want to call it Love the troll Nik!
  21. I left a comment on your facebook but i second this! It was hard enough to get two 23 year olds to hold still for a photo!
  22. I'm just using my kit lens for the challenge which is a EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS - the camera was on manual for everything, including focus. I shine my torch on a detailed point of something, get that in focus and then use a remote trigger to set off the camera. Maybe we should start posting the exif data? Camera: Canon EOS 450D Exposure: 30 seconds Aperture: f/20.0 - I can set the number higher on my camera but didn't like the look of the shots I took with it set that high. Focal Length: 53 mm Exposure: 0.00 ISO Speed: 100 Flash: Off, Did not fire I'm loving the absolute bottle pointeeblab! It looks like a promotional shot! The one of your girl sleeping is great DA - I'm not game enough to try anything that I can't control. At least with my friends, I can say to them "I'm about to shine the torch on your face, stay very very still" - with Zero I'd just wake him up! I love the second shot in your natural light photos too. That needs to become a loldog!
  23. Love it! Wow guys - everyone is doing so well this month and it's only the 4th!
