  1. A voucher from the vets that's great, like for my 40th some of the guys from work put in and got me a voucher for the pet shop.
  2. Ok yes I had thought about two years. My girls have just decided to have themselves a little fight tonight and it was definatley not a play fight. They were both on the bed (they had both just finished a treat.) and they way I seen it was Tully lunged at Lacy, I think she was just going to do her snip snap thing she does but Lacy was obviously caught off guard and they just went at it. Bloody little ferrels. They are both 3 Lacy is nearly 4 and they have never had a fight ever. Sean and myself were both right there so they were separated very quickly but not before Sean got his hand in the middle of it. He's not sure if it is was a bite or a scratch. I said well that's what you get if you get in the middle of two bitches fighting no seriously I should'nt laugh, I only just made a comment today in another thread about how well mine get on as a pack, maybe I spoke too soon, touch wood it was a one of. Much earlier on (over a year ago) I had to pull Lacy off Coop a couple of times but those times it was over food and they seem to be past that now. Ah the joys of having dogs!! Any thoughts?
  3. Hi Lisa, that's fantastic, so glad Dezzy wooed them with his charms, did you get a pic of him with his bandana on? I'd love to see him! Sounds like you two will definatley be a hit with the residents at your facility. We are waiting for the person who is in charge at the hospital to come back from holidays and hopefully we can get the ball rolling for us. Hope you can keep us updated on your visits. Hey Tez, how has your day been, hope you have had a nice day and got some nice prezzys! Hey Jj, just wondered with you being a breeder and all plus being knowledgable about dogs In general at what age would you consider a desexed female dog to be fully mature?
  4. Dodo, you have a real mixed bag there  wish the pic was bigger. They look like a happy family!
  5. Wow this thread has certainly taken on a life of it's own  I would never stay anywhere that wasn't pet friendly, if we go away the dogs always come with us and it is really hard to find a place that allows 4. So when we do go I always make sure we do the right thing and make it known to the owners of the place that we are doing so. After I got my 4th dog we went to go back to one place that we had stayed at previously with 3 and even though we had done the right thing in the past they wouldnt have us back because even though it was a pet frienldy place they had people sneaking in extra dogs and had changed thier policy to 2 dogs per cabin. I was so dissapointed as it was a fantasic park with lots of room for the dogs to run off lead. For all the people who show thier dogs at Warrnambool dog shows and stay at the hoilday park just past the speedway (can't recall what it is called now, it used to be jubile park) I got talking to the owner at work a few weeks ago he came in to work to get some stuff to remove graffitti and I was asking him about his dog policy and he said he gets lots of show dog people who have been so excellent and he was really pleased with the way thier dogs behave and the way they conducted themselves. It's great to hear positive feedback like that from park owners!
  6. Nik, sorry I basically repeated what you said, we must have been posting at the same time!
  7. I love Cesar, but I do find a lot of his technique is basic common sense. My oldest dog has turned around completely just from me doing a few little things differently than I was previously. He is a different dog, I know it is due to me and what I have been doing but only from applying a couple of Cesars techniques. I think what a lot of people get up in arms about is that the below average person + an agressive dog + some of Cesars methods could be a recipie for disaster. I think each dog needs to be deal with on a case by case basis, what works for some may not work for others etc etc. The few times I have seen Cesar been bitten the dog has been extremely aggressive to begin with for whatever reason and no one else would be game to take it on. Im sure with his show, they have to make a show and all the dog would be assessed before the show and if he couldn't deal with it he wouldn't do it. Im betting there is a lot go on behind the scenes that the general public don't know about. My step dad has watched Cesar and thinks he scares the dogs in to submission  I don't know maybe that is true or does seem that way to some poeple. I just like his common sense approach and the pack side of things has been good for me to see. I love watching my lot interact and am proud of the fact that they can be a family and not have any major problems living in a pack situation. So I find watching him with all of his dogs together interesting to see how they all behave, its also interesting to see how the pack react when he introduces new dogs.
  8. Happy Birthday Daisy, hope you have a super day!
  9. Hey Tez, :D  Happy Birthday, hope your having a great day!!
  10. Na they didn't even give it a second thought, they go away to much and in general really don't have time to give a dog the attention it needs, so as much as I am sad he won't grow up with a dog I think they are doing the right thing in not getting one. He loves my lot and I think when I go to visit he looks forward to seeing them more than me I've had to teach him how to train them, tricks general obedience etc as he was doing his own thing with them and generally confusing them it is so cool, he can walk all four of them together heeling nicely beside him, he can get them all to stay then call them one at a time to come, and he knows all their little tricks as well. He even makes up a little agility course for them and they love it. No wonder they come home exhausted, it's like boot camp!!
  11. Gorgeous, they definatley look like they belong together! I can see why Tike was a foster failure!
  12. wow it sounds like musical GSDs at your place. Heres a little funny story I think you will find funny. My nephew 9 about to turn 10 for years has wanted a dog but his parents won't get him one as he is the sort of kid that loves video games etc and they think the novelty of having a dog will wear off and they will be left to look after, train, care for the dog etc which would be fine but they both work and don't have time etc.... BUT heres the kicker a few years ago they said to him if you could get a dog what sort of dog would you like, and he piped up and said a GSD my sister looked at me as if to say wtf?? I knew what he meant and she said whats a GSD, he promptly oh mum don't be silly you know its a German Shepard Dog :D apparently he had been studying up on dog breeds on the internet unbeknown to his mother ;) Anyway his tastes have changed over the years he now wants a POODLE!! Funny his reason for wanting a poodle is they have cool hair cuts and can do awesome tricks. He loves my guys and his mother thought for sure he would say he wants one the same but no he wants a pure bred ;) He is a great kid and I wonder if he will still want a dog as he gets older. They have told him that he can have one when he is old enough to buy it himself!
  13. I know very lucky indeed, had it of been my oldest dogs the others would have been right there beside him, so I was thanking god he didn't see it first. Also lucky my lot wont attemp to pick things up if they don't know what it is and especially if it moves! Thanks for the pics, I think your right it does look like a brown. That pic of the snake with the baby made my blood run cold

  15. I know they are black and white pics, but I have seen some of your pics that are not black and white and they still look so black. (or maybe all the pics I've seen of yours are B & W) Im not familiar with Black Staffords at all and actually have never even seen one in real life. My girlfriend has these colored Staffords This is Roxy, I think one or two of her pups (now about 4)owners are on DOL This is Roxy with Bullet

  19. Thanks Theresa, my smiles quite good with the plate in, without it bogan central I could have had root canal to try to save the tooth but the dentist said there would be every chance it might not work and I'd need plate anyway. Just worked out today I paid more for my new teeth (3) than I did for my first car Do you have a pic of your pack all together? Have you seen my family portraits thread in the photo section?

  22. JJ, you keen to get Tarni out again, Me and Shan are heading to AP in the morning about 10 if you wanna join us.
