  1. Great news, hope your feeling better soon too!
  2. Thats Great, it must be so awesome to hear things like that as a breeder. Maybe you will convince them to show him, just keep pluggin away! My Videos are mostly just quickshort vids of this and that, mostly dogs there is a few people in there somewhere!
  3. Hey Jj the band I seen tonight was at the koroit school concert. My friends son (grade 6) and his mates formed a band called themselves blue mercury and they played you shook me all night long. They were pretty good for thier first gig, they had fun. I put it on face book like I did because I thought he would get a kick out of it. It was a good evening and the kids had a ball, there was some good laughs.

    I Need Ideas

Thanks! It does come in handy when they each come to thier name, for instance if I only want one in or out at a time I just say which one and that one comes or goes. It has certainly had other benifits. I am trying to teach Tully bow but not succedding at the moment. My friend gets her big dog to do a bow then she puts a treat on each paw while he is bowing and he leaves them there till she tells him he can have it. Mine realy only know basic stuff, shake, high five high ten, pray, beg etc. I would love to do more tricks with them, I will watch this thread with interest!
  5. Gorgeous! they looks so happy! CW EW you two look like they belong together! the last one is funny Charlies expression is priceless! Shell, Zero is so beautiful, he just oozes love and happiness, I love the one of you and Zero together it is really special! The last one is so cool, great job to get them all lined up and looking like they are enjoying the photo shoot!
  6. Ah ok I get it now, Im a bit slow on the uptake Tez, Cooper and Bron were both in the room at the time, and Cooper would not come within cooee of those two fighting if his life depended on it, he has felt the wrath of Lacy and let me tell you he is scared Bronson was in his crate or else I think he may have joined in!! Jj, Rez looks like a lovely fella, is he Tarnis brother? Sounds like he had a rough start but he has pulled through with flying colors now! You should be proud.
  7. What did I miss? Jj who is that gorgeous little cherub??

    I Need Ideas

This one is pretty basic but good if you have a number of dogs and want them to all do a trick together. They all have to stay and then each dog comes to his/her name. I started this one to teach my youngest some patience! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tefO6drde0
  9. Ahhhh, now I can see the mix, especially the Cocker part! They look like a lot of work to groom and keep clean though Hmmmmmmm - If I get a badge for being a member for nearly 30 years, wonder if I'll get one for nearly 40 years? :D Hey tenties....have you got one yet? Theresa Well I guess compared to short coated dogs they are but I really enjoy that side of it. I do the clipping myself (about every 8 weeks) and we bath once a week unless there is some unforseen incident like rolling in something vile and disgusting and we all know what my girls can be like bloody little ferrels at times and Tully is a real tom boy and will roll in anything slightly stinky, go back through my threads and find a very crappy day and you will know exactly what I mean. RJ will remember it well!!
  10. Yes thanks for your opinion it is very valued. I definatley agree with how you have put it. I have been rethinking it today and at the time even though both girls had finished thier treats, my OH had an icecream in his hand and Tully is an ice cream nut, so it possibly could have stemmed from thinking she was going to miss out. BUt I have been watching them today and the rank between the girls has definatley changd ever so subtly (sp) there was a bit of posturing going on between the two of them, Lacy was trying to initiate play but Tully wouldn't have a bar of it. Add Bronson into the mix and it makes for interesting viewing for me :D I love watching them interact and can definatley pick when one of them is having a moment or an of day. I have probly let Tully get away with too much as far as being a bit growly with the other two, I will be nipping that in the bud from now on. She plays hard with Bronson but keeps Lacy on the outer then if Bron and Lacy are playing she just sits back and watches and usually if they all play together it is the girls V Bronson I just made a little video, I have been really slack with thier training over winter and they have been pushing the boundries a fair bit so I will get back into it and hopefully restore order and harmony!! Gee I make it sound like they are wholey terrors they really arent, they are great dogs and as you said with any pack there is always going to be ever changing ranks among them. It's how we deal with it that counts! I think I do an alright job! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tefO6drde0
  11. I think Lisa should definatley hang out here, she is practically South West (Ballarat) Don't know why you haven't stopped in earlier! It's fun in here!
  12. Musical shepherds is right. We've always had multiple dogs so it pays to know what sort of temperaments you're dealing with to prevent unnecessary disputes and injuries. We've never had anything too serious. ;) Well I can see the similarities between a GSD and Poodle! NOT The name is actually German SHEPHERD Dog - as in a 'canine' shepherd. They were originally used for tending sheep and cattle etc, as well as guard the crops from the sheep. I had a look at your album. Those are such cute dogs...don't think me rude, but what are they? :D Happy 'belated' birthday Tez! I don't know you Lisa, but well done to both you and Dezzy Theresa You mean you can't tell :D thats great, they are cross breeds. English Cocker x Mini poo. Thats interesting about the Shepherd part of the GSD, I didn't know that. Congrats on your 25+ years!
  13. I wasn't game to come in here, so hoping everything is ok. Sending positive vibes from me!
  14. Totally Awesome, I really wished I lived closer to you as I would love to go to your opening night! You must be super excited, your photography is really something special!!
  15. DeltaCharlie, they are fantastic! Love the last two very smily happy doggies! Is Sweep a BC, I have never seen one that color before? What sort of dogs are your two little fluffy ones?
  16. I used to go to Lava street as we lived close but we changed when we moved out this way, not even sure why now it's not like we are miles away from town and we were very happy with Lava Street too. Now we go to Wollaston. I can imagine the cost as a breeder would be huge especially at puppy time and after they are born. When do you start at WDT? They must start up soon? Does she have to go into a puppy clas or will they let you go strait into class one? We have an interim class called well behaved dog prgram and it is recognised by the council, it covers a lot of the basics after puppy school ike meal time manners car saftey etc etc but I'm sure Tarni would be well ready for class one.
  17. Thanks JJ, They had already had thier Delta vet assessment a few weeks before the testing day and both were great then too. Todays appointment was yearly vaccination. Geez I agree with you if there is a problem go to the vet and get it sorted. I will admit I was a panic merchant when Cooper was a pup, not having a pup for 16 years I would worry at the slightest little thing but usually had some concern so off to the vet we would go. I am pretty good now at recognizing a real vet emergency compared to something I can remedy at home. Mine go routinely every year for Vaccinations as much as I hate to get them vaccinated as I think it is unnessecary every year, If I want to take them to certain places that have rules like dogs must be vaccinated then it has to be done. I only just commented to my vet today that it is fantastic that they let me have an account as it is not always easy to come up with $ for an unexpected vet visit, there is only so much you can bargain for. They are extremely good there and I have been really impressed with thier care in the last couple of years. I did consider changing after a big issue with Cooper having perforated ear drums when he was a pup but I stuck it out and it's turned out ok in the end.
  18. Thanks for thinking of us JJ, all good at the vets, I was a proud doggy mumma when the vet said Tully is a vets dream, she sat nicely and shook hands with the vet so cute, full body check, vaccs, ears, feet she just lapped it all up and the vet commented on how calm she was and how exceptionally lovely her coat was! I told her about her recent escapades and the vet said could it be a hierachy thing, I said I didn't think so due to thier age and I would have thought that they had it all sorted by now. She said she is in peak condition weight wise and wasn't so sure about me upping her food intake. I am going to do for a couple of weeks and see how she goes. I think she is the sort of dog that could eat what she likes and not put on weight! Anyway enough bragging from me. Gee the weathers a bit blowy out there today and we had some rain during the night, just when you think summer is nearly hear it does an about face!
  19. I am paranoid since the snake episode, I have taken mine out every day since ( not back to the same place) but just on edge since that day! Our local off leash park is huge and luckily they have just mowed the lawn but under trees it is still long, I find myself wanting and getting the dogs to be closer to me so if I do happen to see a snake I can just turn and go the other way! It doesn't hurt to be on the ball.
  20. Great shots, what sort of camera did you get?
  21. Awww that's so cute, they look like they are concentrating very hard on something with their big smily faces!
  22. They are beautiful. They are a breed I would love to own, I love wathcing them at dog shows, so so stunning. And they always seem as nice as their smiling face. I agree Gayle, we have a breeder here in town who occasionally brings his two to the dog park and they are just gorgeous, so friendly and so beautiful. We also had a puppy at dog school and he was divine!
  23. Thinking about this now I'm wondering if a dog is really hungry would they be more likely to be agro with another dog where food is involved. It's just that the other day Tully had a go at Bronson and that was over food too, it was over before it began and I was right there at the time but now I'm wondering if maybe she needs extra food as she always seems hungry and desperate for food? She could afford to put on a little weight so maybe I'll up her daily intake. I have a vet app in the morning so maybe I'll see what he thinks about her weight and upping her tucker. I think she is the sort of dog that can eat what she likes and stay the same, wish I could say the same about her owner! :D
  24. Well thanks for that, generally they love each other to bits but I really do think the food aspect did come into play this time and also previously between Coop and Lacy. I guess they can't be perfect all the time :D but I do pride myself on them being a nice relaxed and happily little family in their own right. It does put you on edge when it happens, I wasn't game to let them keep going and felt I needed to intervene. I made them both get on the floor for some time out and after a time invited them back on the bed lacy first then Tully and they are now both sleeping soundly next to each other. The couple of times it happened with Cooper and Lacy they basically got over it as soon as it was over althoughoor Cooper is always wary of Lacy at meal times, he won't eat near her at all unless I'm supervising and when they have bones outside he takes his as far away from her as possible he's got her figured out that's for sure! I guess it can't be smooth sailing all the time especially when you deal in numbers of dogs.
  25. Wow that's fantastic, let us know which issue it's in, I would love to get it. He is a great ambassador for his breed when there is always so much bad publicity surrounding them. 3 years is a long time for the other girl to be visiting but I'm sure Dezzy will woo the residents in no time. Shannon finds the same thing with visiting with Mawson and occasionally people are afraid of him, he is big and black but the biggest softie ever! We are hoping to get the local paper to do a human interest story on our W'bool delta dogs to raise a bit of interest with the hospitals and nursing homes.
