  1. had a thought... The minerals they would recieve in our tap water is essential for their diet. Anybody who gives their dog just distilled water is going to make more problems than just tear staining.

  3. yup what poodle fan said. just be careful if the gunk is really dried to the skin picking at it may hurt and it could be red and a bit swollen underneath. warm water and a cotton ball is the safest way to go.
  4. i believe capstar only works when the fleas actually bite the dog because the Capstar puts a flea poison in the dogs blood. personally i dont like the idea of putting a poison in the dogs blood.

  12. The groomer should have been pulling out all the hair....... While I do agree with you....it can depend on the area. I have a vet in my area who requests that groomers do not pull the hair out, insisting it causes infected ears. we have one of those vets in our area too
  13. interesting to see that nobody has voted for getting bathed at a groomers!
  14. do you mean the flea rinse? i would advise to try not to use it too often as the chemicals can start to irritate the dogs skin and fleas can build up a resistance to the chemicals.
  15. Yes - sorry - I agree. If you do decide to go to the vets just leave it
  16. i hear 1:30, 1:40 and now 1:50... whats really right? is there anyway i can find out?
  17. have any Malaseb on hand? Make a mix 1 part Malaseb and 30 parts water and syringe it in and squish it around, then wipe out as much as you can with a cotton ball. this will help start to kill any infection if there is one.
  18. good luck to whoever has to groom that dog when its older. equipment is never a toy.
  19. there was a thread on this quite a while ago i think in general discussion. most people thought the dog had a problem and wasnt dancing.
  20. generally monthly unless they get stinky in something. my little boys i do in the shower with me and Hazel goes to work for a hydrobath. I use a dog shampoo but no conditioner. they have nice glossy coats as is and since i dont wash them much i dont strip the oils. i do brush them after and i brush the boys (when they have long hair) about once a week. eta these are my boys
