  1. Gazebo's may not have been vandalized which is great but special thanks to the 'kind' person who dinged the door on our new Triton. Likely with a trolley because it was above car door height and we weren't parked beside other cars anyway. Sure the mark is small but it was hit hard enough to be seen 50 metres away. We worked hard, saved hard to buy that vehicle and it is pretty disappointing to have something with less than 6000 klms damaged by some #%^* who naturally didn't leave a name Hopefully that is our quota at dog shows - gazebo at Benalla 4 years ago, custom made bed at Echuca, scissors and lead at Cohuna, bungees at Euroa. Maybe we shouldn't go North? :)
  2. I 'think' it was a black mini poodle that got the group today. The Dane that won group yesterday was RU.
  3. A Shitzu. I don't have the catalogue to check the name.
  4. IMO Limit Reg is for dogs which are not show quality so no, I definitely wouldn't be a fan of that! We have enough judges who honestly have little or no idea of the finer points of many breeds - filling neuter classes up with dogs which don't conform to the breed standard in major ways isn't going to help anyone. Really? I am putting show quality dogs on LR because I don't want them bred from and I can't keep them all to show. Looking at some LR papers right now, I can't see anything written on them that even half way implies "all low grade dogs here."
  5. Holy crap, Sway! That boy is on a winning streak & a half!! Congratulations! Rottie - Prince of Tides got group in 6 and a Sibe was runner up.
  6. More to the point - does anyone have their numbers? I have spoken to half a dozen people and none of them have numbers. Darn nuisance when you are trying to plan when you should get ther.
  7. yes .. the key being "dispatched" 7 days prior ... not "received" 7 days prior. No numbers for us either.
  8. Here is the thread you were looking for. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/213371-gazebo-walls/
  9. I congratulated you on FB but you can never get too many of those :D well done
  10. Absolutely. You would swear that mine had just stepped of the plane from LAX and yet a friends did it the hard way. It can be so sad for some. But lets look on the bright side, it will soon be only 10 days quarantine and that will be a big relief for some owners and their dogs. Ditto. I have imported 4 and the boys handle it better than the girls do. All had to come via Sydney and I would never have repeated the experience if the first 2 had not coped. Both girls I had experience with we're fabulous. They will take a regular phone call and know all about your dog when you call. If you ask, they can tell you their exact weight and will up or drop their feed as you ask. You can send toys, treats , jackets, bedding and they are used. Not just placed on a shelf and sent on when your dog comes home. Both times, I flew up to see them and organized a walker.i can't speak for the experiences others have had but I made sure I knew how my dog was coping.
  11. I would have been one of those inconsiderate people, sending entries late for this show. Printed my entries, stamped the envelope, etc and then noticed instead of a week before usual closing time, I would be sending a week late. Rescued the stamps and used the paper to start my fire :) If some take entries posted late, well that clubs' choice. As is closing early or extending entries. I am a bit puzzled why there is the late entry lecture to be honest. People should only be concerned if they did the right thing. The kennel clubs decide what will accept and what they won't. We get our return numbers, our dogs are catalogued and they don't come marked as accepted late so I can't see the point of a fellow exhibitor vent. If you are venting as a secretary. Simple. Show them in the return envelope and send them back. You miss an entry once, you won't be late again. At least not for that show.
  12. It took me quite a bit of effort to get my head around it Its hard when they do one thing for regular shows, and something different for Royals. Isn't it different because the group is judged first at most other shows whereas the Best Puppy is done before the Group Judging at a Royal?
  13. From the main entrance, looking towards Melbourne, 1 through 3 are on the right, I can't remember if it was 5 or 7 in the centre and the other rings down the left.
  14. Stuck at the airport for 26 hours, I heard due to problems with one aircraft which led to missing connecting flights.
  15. I used Show Manager. You fill in the dog details and it will auto fill your entry forms for printing out. I then fill in the results and add judges. It is free for up to 3 dogs.
  16. Another vote for Wayrod. I went to him after so many here recommended him. I called Dogtainers 5 times and they were always going to call me back. I was organizing to drive to Sydney to collect the dogs until Wayrod sorted things out.
  17. For the second time, we have used Wayrod to deliver our dogs home from quarantine at Eastern Creek. Once again the service was fabulous and very competitive against others. It would not have mattered anyway. The service is so good, we wouldn't think of using anyone else. Stephanie, their Sydney agent called me as soon as she collected the dogs and even sent me pictures via SMS to show me the dogs were well :) I am just so thrilled with the service all round Sway has recommended Wayrod quite a few times which was why we went with a DOL member. Thanks Sway
  18. You asked me where I got my information and I told you. I don't expect you to do anything. If you are interested in reading what is being said, then you send a request to join, same as I did. Any remarks that you found so deeply unpleasant, well what can I say? You made fun of me. I didn't find that was particularly nice. Now I am huffing and puffing. I am not going to be baited any further because I simply won't be back in to general again.
