  1. I thought that was your new perfume Hmm we need to compare sardine notes I think - mine tend to go all squishy when they defrost and are definitely not suitable for putting in my pocket. Are yours still partly frozen? Have to teach her that taking the jump on the way to the box does not score bonus points, though ..... Rubystar you must be lumping again Guilty your honour!! But she's been doing lots of jumps in agility, perhaps she thinks every jump must be taken See what happens when you go and move, I become a bad, bad mum!
  2. Currently, no But a challenge I am willing to take on! Last night I gave her a verbal encouragement coming out of a nice tight RAT (which is rare) and she took that to mean I was about to throw the ball, so dashed out in front of me Little minx I need to teach her maintain position with that ball or you get no ball! Cos right now it's causing some messy (but very enthusiastic) work! Thanks Have to teach her that taking the jump on the way to the box does not score bonus points, though I had a go at heeling while waving an i-squeak all around tonight, she got the idea I even threw it behind me as we heeled and she saw it drop, but kept her position ;) Even did it with Millie with surprising results ;)
  3. Thanks! Where are you getting this information? I feel like I'm missing out on something
  4. Yes. But I was hoping for my $50, it might come with an extra day in the week so I have time to train it afterwards The only part I understand is yes . What are you saying? She is saying that for $50 she wishes it would come with an extra day per week to train the Rally O? Am i right RS? Yes Glad someone was able to decipher my ramblings There are just not enough days in the week already to train everything I want to, and I'm about to add another to the list
  5. If my dummy throwing is anything like my dumbell throwing, WATCH OUT
  6. Yes. But I was hoping for my $50, it might come with an extra day in the week so I have time to train it afterwards
  7. I'm not sure how far it is, I've never been there before. But it most certainly will be closer for you than me! Do you have the details of exactly where, the day and the time? I might go along ;)
  8. ;) She could also start charging lights money like at K9, and earn a bit of extra pocket money!
  9. And that is unfair too, RS - don't rub it in You guys are so lucky to live in the home of great dog training in Oz. ;) Somehow I don't think Ptolomy's backyard will be a free for all, unless you own a red kid, but maybe if I bribe her with lots and lots of chocolate brownies....
  10. I'd like to, I think there are a lot of novice dogs entered so a good thing to go and watch! But, I really should do house stuff and maybe start training instead of just watching it all the time ;) Where is it held? I might be swayed
  11. ;) Maybe we should talk clubs into holding trials at your place, Ptolomy
  12. Tassie I think I would have to be doing it a little more often than once a week. 20 more days and I can have weavers/Aframe/jumps/obedience ring permanently set up in the backyard training area Duration heelwork is on the menu again for tonight Wow, 20 more days and I know where I'm heading to do my training
  13. Look forward to your retrieving brags too RubyStar! And don't dismiss getting that NRD, I thought the same when I started in the sport with my Vizsla and although it took a couple of seasons (try convincing a lean Vizlsa that it's a good idea to go into water during a Canberra Winter!) we got there and further! I hope in a year or two I can start competing and hopefully be able to brag that she was able to finish one run Looking forward to getting out there and training
  14. This is Millie. I started 2x2 with her the other night and she would just sit there looking at me I can tell she's going to be a challenge to teach weaving to! I haven't progressed any further than 6 with Ruby because I only own 8 poles She's still only about 50% with her 6 poles though so more work to be done!

  16. Woot woot! I had the pleasure of Bedazzled's company tonight which was unexpected. She was 5 minutes too late, I stole her spot :D So are you all excited to move again?!
  17. Hmmm, sounds like Ruby and Daisy have the same problem I'll swap you ;) OK then :D I keep trying to palm Ruby off to others, oh and Millie, 2 for 1 deal ;) Lol I will take Ruby any day even though she is female ;) You just want her cos she's yellow (or is that blonde? :D)
  18. Yes I agree with FHRP, great to see a retrieving brag!! Well done on your QND, and best of luck chasing that NRD! I've started retrieving with my yellow Lab, and very glad of the introduction of the QND title. Even though it is still a big challenge to achieve, it helps for those who never think they could ever get an NRD! (like me :D) Well done ;)

  20. huski, you'd have a tonne of fun training Ruby. Her handler is the one that sometimes lets her down
  21. See the photo of Ruby on the far right in my siggy? I am pretty sure I had an i-squeak in my hand when the photo was snapped She was doing this prancing thing as she wanted that ball! That's the face I get when I ask her to heel when i-squeak is on the reward menu
  22. Yes, I know, if I put in the work I could probably make it happen, especially with Ruby. Her face lights up like a christmas tree when I ask her to heel and she has an inkling that the i-squeak is in my pocket (I swear they know the smell of them!) but she forges in anticipation of it being thrown. Millie simply cannot take any instruction when faced with i-squeak or dinner bowl. She works best for praise, play and mundane treats. Ruby tugs, but I haven't harnessed it and don't really want to, she hasn't got a soft mouth for retrieving as it is so at this present time, I don't want to encourage it. Though using an i-squeak won't help that soft mouth either Millie doesn't tug, but I'm sure with some work and the right tug toy, I could get her to. As for barking dogs, Millie is a terrible barker when she's not being worked so I can't tie her out or crate her either. I lock her in the car and close the door and she goes bananas in there If a dog woofs once or twice (ie. not a consistent nuisance barker), tell the triallers to get over it, they should be proofing for that too Ruby has missed positions due to being distracted by a barking dog, but what can you do ;) Besides more proofing!
