How cute I've got an old video on photobucket of Ruby closing the lounge room door.

Now that is a straight out LIE!!! Puppies have that gorgeous, GORGEOUS puppy breath :o Nothing beats a Lab puppy breath

Personalised Postage Stamps knock yourself out. Not a half bad idea! No what I was getting at is Millie is Adopted & Adored also Yeah they are missing a Lab in the lineup, hey. Well I just don't classify it as a full set when they're missing the mighty Labrador
-
A Kong Wubba is what enticed Millie to finally swim for the first time! She couldn't resist retrieving it, even if it meant plunging into the ocean to get it

Stamps are now 60c?!?!?! Geez But love the stamps! I want my Millie on one

I personally wouldn't reward with the same food you asked to leave, it could get confusing for the dog "can I have it, can't I?" Say I accidentally drop food on the floor, if the dog leaves the food, I always reward with something else and pick that first lot up. But I'm not teaching a formal food refusal, so others might have a better idea!

Very nice work

Labs are wonderful family pets with young kids once the dog reaches at least 3 years old (edit: and has had training!!). My 1 year old nephew just adores my 2 Labs, smiles at the sight of them and lays on them. If the dogs get a bit "over" being layed on, they just get up and move. They don't knock him over, the main thing we have to watch out for is their tails though! They are like whips!! But even if your friends agreed on an older Lab, I still don't think it would have a very nice life in the backyard  I would put money on that your friends don't also realise just HOW MUCH a Lab sheds. Tell them they shed once a year, and that lasts 365 days a year! She will find Lab hair on her clothes, in her car and in her food, even when it is an outside dog!!! I find Lab hair at work! It comes with me wherever I go

I don't mind if you join me, I do my own stuff anyway. It's just sometimes nice to work near others who are doing the same thing, it not only gets you out of the house to train but it is good distraction training. Then you've also got dogs to do stays with Mine get the summer break, too. Mainly just cos it's usually too damn hot to do anything Plus I don't do something formal with the girls every single day (which I should, even if it's 5 mins, but I do most days). Hell yes!! I've been training on my own (obedience at least) for a bit now but it is really nice when I do get the company! Unfortunately yes , although she does some obedience training with all of them, but just doesn't compete. I agree with the ;) Not sure why though when she is absolutely fantastic at anything she does! No rule about which side you turn into first in the figure 8. I choose to take my dog on the inside first, because if she is having a away with the fairies moment, I am more likely to lose her on my outside. If I have her on the inside, she hasn't got much choice about where to go (except maybe jumping on the figure 8 post which has happened on more than one occasion! But would happen regardless of what side we start on). Not sure if your recall question was a question or a statement? You return to your dog in CCD, then all other classes they must finish (return to you), those are the rules and not optional.

Oh joy. Another family wanting the "perfect family pet" and choosing a Labrador because they've been portrayed as coming out of the womb calm and well trained like a Guide Dog Another family that does not truly understand the requirements of a Labrador and probably not understanding it needs constant training to get it to eventually be that calm well mannered dog. Another family that will contribute to the bad rap that Labs get amongst "doggy people". And another family that will ultimately dump the dog at the pound because it is just too damn boisterous and destructive Sorry CW EW, don't mean to offend, but it just upsets me that Labs keep falling into the hands of people who fit your friend's criteria and continue to tarnish the Labrador name

Nope, probably blondie. She is better behaved

Where do you get them from? I never thought of leather as being a tug toy, how soft is it? Millie has a bit of a tender mouth, very picky with what she puts in there from out of my hand unless it's edible of course, so a soft furry tug I thought would be ideal. But I'm open to the idea of a leather one if I know what they're like!

Kirra did that one time in a trial - back in the days when she was a tunnel suck (as opposed to the contact/weave suck she is now ). The chute was the last obstacle, but was only a few metres away from the start obstacle - tyre I think. Just as we were starting, the wind blew and opened the chute right up - and sucked my little girl right in ;) - ooops Sorry - OT :D Sucked her right in Millie came skidding up onto the chute fabric to try and enter it and went legs up in the air on her back, but got right back up, found the entrance, and ran through it, joyfully squeaking her ball the whole time -
Can't wait for the video! I've seen Sophie heel, she is very good! It would be a shame to give obedience away :D

Sprung! If Aussies were a gundog, I'd have one in a heartbeat!! I have many years yet to decide on my next kiddie. If Brooklyn knocks up some fine young lady who has merle puppies then Aussies are still on the top of my list!

Have to get in quick to get Dman tugs . Keep an eye on her thread in the member market place. The furs ones I got were for sale last week but they sell out pretty much on the day she puts them up. Can I ask you how big they are and how much?
-
I'm wondering if you earn commission from that place with the amount of plugs she gets
-
No, this is for Millie. Millie can't do retrieving so I may as well "tug away" with her! Shame though, Ruby loves a good tug
-
Dman tugs is where I checked first, everything says sold out or coming soon But I think sas mentioned something about taking a holiday from making them for a while last time her bunny fur tugs came up in convo? I could be wrong though I checked Rush to Tug, hers look good but wondering how effective the fluff in it would be. The bunny fur in dman ones is what I was after. Looking at Clean Run now, but so far all their tuggies look small.
-
This is what I started with Millie a while ago, shaping to tug as she doesn't naturally take things in her mouth (besides food!) so I need to get back to it as I quit before getting too far I'd like a nice enticing tuggy though to start with as I think this is going to be a long challenge!
-
I haven't read the whole thread, apologies But can anyone please recommend a good tug toy to entice a dog to tug? Like a rabbit fur one or something? I would like to try something like that before trying the food pouch tugs. Thanks!

Do your dogs spend all day while you're at work going through the tunnel? I can't set mine up or Millie would make herself dizzy going through it all day Trixie does, I should really put it away, she'll go outside to pee then do a lap through the tunnel on her way back in At least your girl isn't "spethal", and tries to run through the chute in the wrong direction! Then takes off through it the right direction, i-squeak in mouth Oh Millie cracks me up  -

And I also bought an old chute from the club With my tunnel, chute, brand spankin' new 2x2 weave bases, my borrowed mini dogwalk and my 3 crappy pvc jumps, I just need a bigger backyard to set up a mini agility course
