Rivsky!! Loving the videos!! Wow look at your boys go! Zuma is doing soooooo well, love his speedy drops (must be a Toller thing ) and his first LAT was really beautiful! Lovely attention, too! Maybe my next dog needs to be a red kid Ptolomy, are you taking names for Cider's litter yet?

That sucks, Tiggy So work doesn't care that you have a prior engagement?

That is how my Millie does agility, looking at me and not the jumps, but doesn't do those lovely zoomies that Paris was doing! Bless her, the zoomies were just a fill in while her handler caught up ! I can see some positives in there, though! 1. no knocked bars! 2. lovely rear cross into the tunnel!! (well, to my novice eye, my dog still can't do rear crosses into tunnels ) 3. certainly not lacking enthusiasm!!

Got a mini brag here. Apologies in advance for the long winded post! Had a practice trial today, and put Millie through Novice and Ruby through Open. Ruby completed her Open round ok, nothing worth writing home about, BUT she did her stays! She didn't drop in her sit stay (which has been our problem since forever). She fidgeted and gravitated her feet in the direction we had disappeared to, but stayed put Halfway through I poked my head out and gave her some "good girls". Her down stay, well she sat up when I walked away (which is unusual for her.. til now I guess?) but I returned to her, set her up again, then she completed the remaining 4.5 mins without getting up or eating that goddamned grass!!! Again, stuck my head out halfway for some encouragement. Anyway, the brag really goes to Millie Her Novice round wasn't too bad, we had basically just arrived and went straight into the ring. But as I was waiting around afterwards sitting on the grass with Millie, I thought I'd run her through Open WOW did she impress me. I think I've been concentrating on the wrong dog ;) Brilliant heelwork, solid SFE, I opted for a straight through recall so I don't slow her down prior to actually getting to Open, and that was so speedy that I think she has grass burns on her butt as she skidded into her front Completed both dumbell on flat and dumbell over high jump, and did her change of positions!! (I opted to stand a bit closer to her for the COP). The judge couldn't believe she was looking at a dog that doesn't even have her CCD yet and I got grilled about why not I was just sooooooooo chuffed with Millie, she absolutely loves working, her enthusiasm is what I love most :D She makes trialling so much fun I think Millie is the kind of dog that does better when you give her a real good warming up, ie. putting her through some formal heelwork and some playtime. Ruby, well, still trying to figure that girl out I know my Ruby is capable, I have the video evidence to prove it and watching it back often gives me the push to keep on going! I am just struggling to figure out why her attitude is reverting back to her "ho hum" one she had about this time last year. I don't think my training routine has changed, but I just don't know She is AWESOME to work when she is switched on, though. I just have to fix that faulty on switch!

WooHOOOO go Smisch!! Sounds like you had a great weekend, and State Champion sounds very nice!
-
Has that given you the inspiration to go to the practice trial today? :D
-
Wow Ptolomy, you sure know how to pull off some nice wins at agility, too! Congrats!! And congrats caffy!
-
And she's sooooooo fun to handle! Especially for such a young dog! Not that I want an Aussie or anything. Sure you don't ;)
-
No idea Sounds interesting though! Looks like a teams event! I know who will be in the WA team..!! and no, it's not me
-
Lottie is looking good! Nice and attentive heelwork And such a pretty girl to boot

I'll watch your video soon, LuvLottie! huski, or anybody else who knows, what is this? 2011 State & National Obedience Trials Featuring The Inaugural Interstate Obedience Challenge June 25th & 26th 2011

I agree, if you want her to wear one, do it! I put one on Ruby when I went away for a camping weekend with retrieving folk and didn't care she was the only one with her jacket on I even had her bed at the campfire to lay on, that one got a few giggles

A little thing called MONEY, ness

Yup I understand, which is why I'm not doing tracking, way too much on my plate already!!
-
Wow, go Jenna!!!! That is awesome work, trial-ready so quickly! Can see why you're so keen to get back Oops am I a little late in wishing mirawee a happy birthday?! Happy Birthday anyway, hope your day was great!!!

If I go, it would be hard NOT to bring a dog and not compete! But I'd be horribly torn about which dog. Ruby is a great travel buddy, very well behaved, but Millie is proving to be a good little worker with her enthusiasm, but a very noisy, psycho one at that!
-
Brisbane  You should definitely come!! ;) ;) That I might possibly do IF I have the funds, because I have some friends in Brissy! And then I get to meet the evil beagle But like Ptolomy is trying to decide, WHICH DOG TO BRING?!?!?!?!?!
-
No coat for me. For one, Ruby finds it horribly uncomfortable because she can't lay down in the one I bought for her ages ago, and secondly, Lab people laugh at you for putting a coat on a dog who has their own built in coat! Cool coats however are on my shopping list as my girls feel the heat at trials, but can handle the cold much better.
-
Sometimes I wish I was just content in enjoying them as just pets and not worry about training, cos then I'd have no hesistation in looking to expand my fur family But I'm afraid I'm just far too addicted to this whole training thing, so 3rd dog comes when I'm in a training position to do so

Where is the next Nationals again? Because that is something I wouldn't mind trying in another state. You can only take 1 kid with you?
-
Reading stories from those who have competed at the Royal, it puts me off more and more! Leftover food on the ground is the biggest factor for me. That and being cramped in small areas and waiting alllll daaaaaaay to go on (because Millie and I would be close to last depending on if she's still doing CCD or CD). I do like a challenge but this is one challenge that doesn't seem to be up my alley just yet ;) Yes but you are a glutton for punishment!
-
Undecided. Scared of the distractions for the dog, scared of the people watching for me! As I've never been before, can someone please tell me how close the ring is to where we have to keep our dogs? Because if I go, I will probably take Millie but she is the barker.

I sure am - I booked my flights the other day - I arrive on the 21st October and fly home on the 2nd November. Just not sure which red child I will bring with me What are the dog options? Scoota won't forgive you if you trade him in for another travel partner!
