  1. No no, Ruby is exuberant. Millie is borerline padded cell material!!
  2. Poor Mille has alot to live up to . I'm ashamed to admit it but yes, Ruby is the apple of her mother's eye and poor Millie must feel she has big shoes to fill But I'm going to put some serious time back into Millie's obedience, she was doing so well then I slackened off on it. Millie is also a smart girl, just a little, um, psycho?
  3. I've found that sometimes cheques are banked after the trial has happened
  4. I'm starting to think you guys don't want me training my own dog
  5. Thanks for all the offers to loan me 400 dogs guys But I would like to stick with Ruby, just with SHE could jump 400 because she struggles with 500, being a Lab and all not built to be jumping like a BC!
  6. Just wanted to continue the brags for my Ruby. I am so chuffed with her lately Millie has been doing agility this term but doing some practice jumps with Ruby, she was showing more potential. So I've decided to do classes with Ruby so I learn more and then teach Millie on the side with what I learn. So anyhow, assessment was tonight so instead of taking Millie, I decided to take Ruby to see if we could progress to the next class instead of repeating foundation again. Ruby has done no training, the last time she saw agility equipment was 2 years ago doing baby jumps and tunnels, that's about it. So I put Ruby into the assessment because Millie wasn't ready to continue, my baby girl blitzes it!! She never ceases to amaze me
  7. Had Ruby measured on the weekend and she is 53cm, so gets to jump at 500 Wish she was a 400 dog, though
  8. We saw some lightening down here, but the storm never hit. Hope it's passed where you are! I hate thunder and lightening too, scares me!
  9. Just what are you on, RosieFT?! I want some What other night? That night we trained with jumps? Do you have your own equipment to practice at home? Well done on your front cross tonight! Wahooooo!!! My blondie deserves big rewards for a job well done tonight. No training, throw her into the agility assessment in Millie's place who has been doing the classes all term and Ruby blitzes the exam Goes to show they just don't forget! Last time she saw agility equipment was 2 years ago and it was baby stuff. She'd never done an A-Frame before! Gosh I love my blonde girl so much :p
  10. Can't help on the RAT, I have a similar issue in that either my girls get distracted like Kenzie, or their head drops down as we come around. Bedazzled gave me a good tip in sometimes doing a double RAT, they won't be expecting that and will try keep up next time!
  11. Whaddya mean? This thread is for any training related convos to help prevent other threads going OT
  12. I've told Ruby that numerous times.. but twice she didn't listen A wee or poo in the ring, even between exercises, is classed as "misbehaviour" and slugs you 10 points in one hit!!
  13. All the Labs in this thread are stunners! It's no wonder I love Labradors GR - Ruby was 9 months old in the pic. She's filled out a bit more since then, but still about the same weight.
  14. Thanks for all the nice comments on Ruby. She'd certainly be laughed out of the conformation ring, but I think she is very beautiful Thankfully we don't get laughed out of the obedience ring... yet
  15. Where's that stacked photo of Ruby you posted in the Lab Agility thread? RubyStar's two are just how I like to see labs, fit, lean and energetic It's not really a stacked pic, she certainly is no show dog! But a beauty in my eyes Ruby: Millie: Millie, Mason and Ruby:
  16. wolfgirl, Pearl looks LOVELY! That is the size I like my Labs to be (which they are) Mine both weigh 24.5kg. I really dislike fat labs.
  17. I wish the Labrador Retriever nationals would hold obedience and agility, too. It seems all they do is conformation and some retrieving test. Or even if the club would hold normal obedience and agility trials! Other breed clubs tend to, I just never understood why some breed clubs don't. I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation for why, I just don't know it I will watch your videos tonight, can't wait!! I wish Australia had a Chessie club. RS the thing I noticed most in your obidience runs is how happy Ruby looked! :D One of the things I love about Labs - they're always HAPPY
  18. Oh no!! RosieFT, we can celebrate on Tuesday if I pass the assessment Don't think we will. I'm going to step Ruby into Millie's spot and see how she goes.
  19. Photos please and how did you make it? I'm considering remaking mine, it's too flimsy so takes me forever to set up In case you are interested I put a link up to some cheap agility equipment in the WA thread, I found it while looking at crates. Thanks Candice :D Someone showed us that link a few weeks ago and their 6m tunnels promptly sold out to DOLers! I missed out because I was too slow to make up my mind The other stuff looks a bit cheap and nasty for the prices they are charging. I have made some bar jumps so far, and putting my thinking cap on for a tyre jump and chute!

  22. Big congratulations to the agility brags!! Well done Agility Dogs, smisch and xena98 and crew!! Hope I haven't missed anyone!
  23. Thanks! She earnt lots of jackpots that's for sure! :D Thanks NC! I don't know how long it will take that final pass, but I better pull my finger out and perfect those Open exercises! Can't believe we're almost there How are you and Koori going? Thanks Rivsky! It's a great feeling when you can finally pull an entire round together, let alone two on the same day! With some prodding from Masons Mom, here is the video of the afternoon trial. It's not as good at the morning trial, but still so much better than I expected going into the ring. It had been a very long day, we were the last in that ring in the afternoon so she was very tired. But for a relatively inexperienced dog, she did me proud
  24. Congratulations!!! Stays are a PITA, aren't they? Abolish them, I say!!!!
