If I'm not working, I'll be heading down too to give Open another go for Ruby and put Millie through Novice. Stays are one thing I DO need to do, they are broken and only repaired with stickytape at the moment, ready to fall apart again any second!!

WOO-FRICKIN-HOOOOOOOOO!!!! Go Deb and Brookie!!!!! I too hope there is video!! You say this like it's a bad thing Aussies aren't as popular as BC's in dog sports to my knowledge Love Aussies -
I finished at 12.30  . Yes but what time did you get up?
-
Glad you got Sooty back! Blah, stuck at work, this sucks! Starving
-
Ruby was probably giving him sit stay "tips" in the back of the Tonka truck last week as that is her old trick! I'm sure he blitzed the rest of it and the celebrations will still be in full swing all night! Congrats Bedazzled!!!! Very deserving You show 'em how the WA people do it!!
-
Was there ever any doubt that one of the WA ladies would win? Congrats B&B!!

Does anyone now the average cost of 30 days of Australian quarantine? -
Hope she can help!

I know I am bummed there is no obedience til the end of May, unless I wanna go country too! Nothing for like 6 weeks, then we have 2 on the same weekend. Talk about bad planning!!!
-
If I wasn't stewarding I'd sit with you so you wouldn't be a loner :D you've got plenty of agility buddies, especially from DOL, so you won't ever need to sit alone as far as I can see. I hope by the time I'm ready to compete I have some buddies to sit with ready to go! (ie. you guys ) Took me a year to find some obedience buddies, much to my mother's relief, as she had to be dragged along with me and hated every minute of it!! My obedience buddies are more fun than my mum We love our food and drinkies, don't we girls Ta!!! :p
-
Can someone please give me a quick rundown of what agility trials are coming up? I know I am stewarding a few, but in typical fashion haven't actually written any of this down so I need a reminder of what's on so I know where I need to be on what days/nights!

Aww look at your handsome ES fellas!!

Depends on the dog and owner. My girls won't tear my house down if they don't get a walk. They sleep all day and sleep all night! I was painting the other day from 4pm and they napped next to me. Woke them for dinner, were awake for about half an hour then took themselves off to bed. Didn't hear a peep out of them until the next morning. They get plenty of mental stimulation in the absense of physical stimulation if I can't take them out for a walk (ie. obedience training), so they are well balanced. Lazy when at home, but still have the motivation for go go go when I let them have an offlead run I can totally picture a Lab being "go go go" in a kennel environment, that's some pretty exciting stuff there! Mine would do the same. But at home, lazybones galore. My dad puppysits the dogs while I'm at work most days at the moment and he sends me photos of them to my phone daily, and every photo is of them curled up asleep on a blanket on the floor Anyway, no idea if a Lab suits the OP, but saw this and just wanted to put my 2 cents worth in based on my personal experience

Family Dog - Move To Us - What Will Happen?

Interesting thread I would really love to live and work in Canada for a year or 18 months, but always put it in the too hard basket because of my Labbies. If I go, they certainly come! If they can't go, then I don't go. Do the same rules apply for Canada as they do the US? So basically if I get the dogs a rabies shot either before leaving the country or when I get there (do they then need quarantine if first rabies shot is done over there?), and then yearly rabies shots while overseas should enable us to return to Oz with only 30 days quarantine? Still overwhelms me with all the paperwork I think you need to do, so I'll probably never do it. That and I would really prefer to do the the extended working holiday with someone else, I'm a bit too scared to do it on my own Anyone care to join me? ETA: it's got me thinking again, but this time I'm looking up dog training clubs and CKC regulations and trialling my dogs there -
I should start thinking about out of sight stays soon, too, but our in sight ones are pretty broken at the moment We need one more Novice pass, but who knows how long that will take In the meantime, my girl will continue to be in training for Open, too, minus the out of sight stays for a while maybe Can't wait to given Open a real crack, get to do the fun stuff! Did an Open mock trial and that was fun

If you want to join, the travel isn't that bad. You wouldn't be travelling in peak hour, so you're probably half hour away. Give it a test run one evening to see. Easy for me to say though, I travel 10 mins up the road to training a few nights a week and most trials happen to be there too Spoilt much?
-
Yes but unfortunately they often post on the website after I have already had to leave Which is why when in doubt I often choose not to go as I have driven the hour before to find out that training had been cancelled An hour drive..... sounds familiar, it also takes me an hour to get down there which is why I dont go very often... It's about an hour for me to. I've always wanted to go to the the ACWA but it's so far . So it's not raining here yet but I did get a bit rained on earlier when I walked the dogs. Buster must know there's a storm coming because usually he doesn't want to come inside but today he came straight in, I have the total opposite problem with the Stafford kids . Sooooo is not :p I have driven many a time to Guildford and surrounds when I was househunting and I'm close to the K9 - try half hour, 40 mins max! ;) Hmm but then again, I didn't do those trips in peak hour
-
And lunch or din dins! I stewarded the western classic agility last year and we got a lovely dinner upstairs For smaller ones like club trials, they usually put on food, too. It's always a lovely day/evening!
-
You'll be moving on for sure, I've seen you guys! Do we actually find out a score or anything tonight? I hope I'm moving up too! I've done a bit of agility stewarding but have never been scribe, looks too hard I don't particularly like being screamed at by the competitors for when they're in and how many before them, so gate steward I try to avoid. Gimme lead steward or backup timer :D
-
I don't think they will hold us down, it was just a scare tactic to get us to help out ;) If it's raining, I am not going. I have no issue helping, clearly as I book myself in for a bit of stewarding. I am already doing TWO FULL DAYS at the agility Nationals and a night at the State one, I think that is enough help for one person! :D Also helping at the SRAODC one, man I'm a glutton for punishment!! They already have an overload of people in Adult Foundation, so I can't see them keeping dogs down who don't deserve to be there. I don't want another term of lessons where our homework are things like stays and recalls, I do enough of those in obedience! P.S. Hope it isn't raining though so I can go down and help! Hope to see you there RFT!! (so much easier to shorten your name too )

;) Please don't eat her! She's too sweet Best of luck for tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

:p Beryl for a dog, love it I was going to name my girl Bella, even though I knew that was very popular, it's just that 12 years + ago when I was desperate for a Lab, that is what I wanted to call her. It got very popular since then. So I used Ruby instead. Don't think you'd get much competition for Beryl :D Or Ethel or Doris or Mavis
-
I see you managed it Welcome Longdog! Cute name by the way
-
Can't wait to see piccies of your Ruby! Can you believe how popular that name is now? Had hardly heard of it for a dog name when I used it but now I hear it everywhere How about rubster or rubester? I don't think that is taken? Or try adding a number after your name like birth year or something? You don't have to change your name but I will if you do I think it could get confusing for people mixing our posts up with each other! I'm seeing your name and even I'm thinking it's me
-
Me too! I saw the online users lists at the bottom of this thread and went hmmm I thought I had me listed as invisible, then went hello that is not me!
