  1. Haven't updated this for a while so thought i wold add some new photos of Earl - he is now over 30 kilos - bigger than Rosie (our kelpie) and coming along beautifully. He loves a bath and will try to get in when one is running - even if it isn't for him He has been to my sons football training a couple of times and of course to a couple of DOL meets - he has a short morning walk and sometimes an evening one too - but he is learning what he can and can't get away with which - given the size he is going to be - is very important. SO here he is I loooove my squeaky toy Did you want me..........? Duelling doggies *L* J/K But Mum - I told you my basket wasn't big enough..... Size comparison - Earl and Rosie Will try and keep this thread updated ;) Happy Easter everyone
  2. to you Tilly - that must have been nerve wracking for you and your dogs Edited for spelling
  3. If you even want any captions or anything for your photos just let me know I'd love to have a go at another story of the Pink Poodles *L*
  4. Didn't think of that - I do take my phone with me when I walk so next time will make sure I get it out and take photos - I haven't been able to find who I ring yet - nothing on the council website but I have emailed them. Sorry to hear about so many other incidents - some dog owners just have no consideration. I just kept thinking about how much worse it could have been. Mine too I think

    Gherkin

to you and yours Gherkin - run free over the bridge - taken too soon beautiful girl.
  6. Trying to get out for a walk regularly with the kelpie so took her tonight at about 8 - it's dark so I have taken a well lit route that goes past my kids school - all is going well until - rushing at us from up ahead 2 unleashed dogs - poor Rosie is on leash - gets rushed by these two and reacts - so i have grabbed her and pulled her away and the &^^&%)(* owner of these 2 dogs is sauntering along about 20 ft back listening to her Ipod - my comment as I passed "You might want to get a couple of leashes for them!!" So I continue - she goes around the school oval and across to where I am still walking my dog on leash on the footpath - mind you by this time I have a large stick in hand and am fuming at this stupid owner. Luckily there were no other incidents. It is the first time it has happened and i refuse to change to a less well lit path or a different time just because of this (this time of night suits me as my kids are going to bed and I can get out while OH does the night time routine) but I will programme the council number in my phone AND will be ringing it if it happens again!! Plus I will have some choice words for the owner .... OK - vent over - and apart from that Rosie and I really enjoyed the walk.
  7. Dammit - won't be there this Sunday - have a footy game
  8. My two kids are older - 8 and 11 - so i do take them along - but only to DOL meets - and with much discussion first about OK behaviour. I wouldn't take them to a dog park with unknown dogs - I tend not to take my dogs there - I do like the parks that have a playgound next to them though - our park for DOL meets has a playground in it - which is not ideal IMHO I agree with the stroller as an option if there are other dogs around
  9. Good luck with that ness - and I have booked in for the seminar with the hound

  21. Having just welcomed our first ever purebred pup - a gorgeous bloodhound - who is great with our kelpie (from a pet shop before I knew better) our next dog - which will not be for a long time - will be a rescue greyhound - my dream dog - as the bloodhound is my husbands dream dog. Would like to foster eventually too when my kids are older. DOL has had a huge influence on me and I am so much more informed now
