  1. I dont think they're related, it might have even been the first time they met, but they sure had fun. IG's and Whippets get really happy when they see dogs that look like them.
  2. thanks for looking. They all had a great time.
  3. John Travolta eat your heart out! These wog dogs sure know how to party!! 5F6A5522dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr
  4. Me too! She's so cute! I love the baby one where she's too tired to wake up and get her jammies on. What a little character, they all are.

  7. Happy Birthday old boy. I hope you had lots of cuddles and treats.
  8. My oldest was Penny, a whippet who only passed away, well, I had to have her put down, just around 9 weeks ago. She was 15 years and 3 months old. Whippets aren't really a very long lived breed IMO. Yes I hear of a few who get to 17 or so, but it's not common. I find most go between 12-14ish years. For a small dog I'd expect them to live longer than they do. Penny was a naturally healthy dog I think. The only commercial food she got was a small amount of dry in the morning but most of her food was home cooked and raw. Lots of bones, fresh fruit, veggies and plants (which she would source). Only near the end of her life did her teeth start to get a tartar build up, and it wasn't much. She never needed a dental and her 2 sons are exactly the same, they've just turned 10 and their teeth are pristine white, like wolves teeth.
  9. We've only been in the snow once, and I think she was cold but she loved it. We didn't stay long either. here's another shot of her in the snow, with her big flippy flappy ears. The processing's weird on this pic. Snow Dog by kirislin, on Flickr
  10. here's the link to the events page. We're usually all finished by about 2.30 though so you wouldn't want to leave it too late. We start at 11am. https://www.facebook.com/yvwsrc/events?ref=page_internal Thanks all for your good wishes. I just cannot imagine not having her in my life now. She's such an enormous presence in a tiny weeny package. I think she got a double dose.
  11. aww go on. You should bring him along to our whippet fun day on Nov 8th. It's not far from the Dandenongs, it's at Wandin East reserve. Neko will be there chasing the lure, giving away free kisses and cuddles and signing autographs.

  13. I've wondered if it's possible and thought if people have it why not dogs?
  14. Whenever I see the title of this thread I think "Who ripped the stuffing out? arf, arf, arf arf!" to the tune of "who let the dogs out?"
  15. I cannot believe I missed this milestone, it just sneaked by me, but no matter, everyday I rejoice in gotcha-ing this exquisite little package of quirky, naughty, playful, loving devil child. My Neko, Roskyle Too Many Kisses has been with our family for a year. I cannot imagine life without her. I hope we have many happy years and many adventures together ahead of us. 5F6A7995dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr The weekend she came to live with me. 17. I found these on ebay, I assume it's the same lens, you've put an "N" in your spelling http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_kw=Soligor+90-230mm
  18. You are a very dedicated and responsible owner.
  19. this is pretty impressive. I hope they love it.
  20. Sometimes dogs live to old age regardless of how well, or how badly they've lived. When I got Penny whippet there was an older couple with 2 labradors just a little bit older than Penny. I have always fed my dogs well, kept them fit and healthy and I've been lucky in that none have any real health issues. These 2 labs, although much loved were raised on tinned food, their coats always smell and feel greasy to touch. When ever I'd see them at the park they were always dragging their backsides. They are both fat, have dirty teeth and arthritis from quite a young age, and yet, my Penny has been gone these past 8 weeks and these 2 dear old girls live on. They are now 16 years old, a good age by any standard but for fat unhealthy dogs I think it's amazing. I cant imagine they could have lived any longer if they'd been fed a good diet and kept at a healthy weight. I suppose they might have been more comfortable, but who knows?
  21. I would have thought it would be good practice for the police horses, they are supposed to be unflappable, your dogs might have shown up a weakness with the horses that they need more training with.
  22. You can see her bloomers in that one.
  23. I think stuffing from dead toys forms a large part of the binding that holds the soil and grass together here.
  24. depending on the dogs they can be trained to be fine with chooks. My whippets are high prey drive but once they learnt the chickens were off limits they were good with them. I dont assume my next dog will be the same. The chicken isn't injured here, she's sunbaking with the dogs. 5F6A0184dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A0179dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
