  1. Absolute cracker of a shot there Kirislin! T. thanks, I think I've decided I like this shot even better, she looks saggy in the back in the first, although she's really hyperextended Baby can RUN!! by kirislin, on Flickr
  2. I'd be worried about looking after such a valuable pup under these arrangements. What happens if it gets sick, who pays? Who's responsible. She needs to take it or sign it over to you. If it's so valuable how come she just left it?
  3. At last!!! I've tried so many times to get a shot of Neko at full stretch and finally I got one. I've suspected almost as long as I've had her that somethings not quite right as she's always seemed like she couldn't stretch out. I've spent $100's taking her to vets, chiros and osteopath and although I'm still not convinced she's fully OK, I think we're getting somewhere. So this is what she looks like when she REALLY tries. Isn't she cute, no laughing you full size greyhound people. Neko Full Stretch by kirislin, on Flickr
  4. No I dont think so. I didn't see a trailer, it just went straight into the movie
  5. Me too!! I tried alot of that too, and dog love story, saluki, slougi, sloughi.
  6. I searched pretty thoroughly and couldn't find this, how did you come up with it? I need to know  well thankyou both for looking. Yes Caz, I am amazed she found it with my vague description, but then again I came to DOL thinking someone will know the movie or find it for me even if they dont know, and sure enough. RiverStar-Aura
  7. Very good sleuthing!! I dont think this is the film, but it is very much along these lines. Possibly made by the same film maker. Thankyou. Edit Actually I think this is it!! it's just after so many years I'd forgotten it. I remembered it as dark dogs but now that I've watched it and let it sink in, I think you found it. Very clever, thankyou again. How the hell did you find it with such minimal and vague information?
  8. good quality leather if I was looking for a new lead. I'd probably just go to a saddler for it as I think they'd be able to make them for less than some of the named brands. I have to admit, after making leatherware for years I am using rather cheap webbing leads I made myself almost 10 years ago. I intended to just use them when I took the dogs to the beach, and certainly never expected them to last as long as they have. I just sewed the brass clips on with my sewing machine and thought the stitching would give out long before now, but they're all still going strong. They look bloody awful but work well and I've no reason to retire them.
  9. I did, and all I got were awful vids of Arabs (I think) with hounds killing gazelles, some kind of dog/jackal and hares.
  10. thanks for looking. I have some more of that lovely poodle, I posted these in the poodle thread but not everyone looks in there. I think there's some secrets being whispered here. 5F6A5810dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Are you for real? 5F6A5809dppt by kirislin, on Flickr THEY DID WHAT!!!! 11. No definitely not Bombon El Perro, I knew that was on at the moment and actually made a thread about it to let others know. I'm not really a fan of that movie, but thanks for trying to help me. The movie I'm thinking of was set in the Middle East and was about sighthounds. They called them slougis or something sounding like that it might have even sounded like saluki and they were rangy running dogs but I dont know if they'd be the same as what we call sloughis or salukis, they're certainly similar to many of our running breeds. It made me wonder if the word they used simply meant dog, or hunting dog.
  12. I feel sure it would be on youtube, I just dont know how to search for it. I'll bet someone on DOL has seen it too but I'm not describing it very well.
  13. It was quite windy and this dog got her face blown away. 5F6A5796dpp by kirislin, on Flickr Most of the clan 5F6A5843dppt by kirislin, on Flickr a quiet moment 5F6A5845dppt by kirislin, on Flickr They ran out of sable paint when this pup was being made 5F6A5855dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

  15. Years ago I saw a movie on SBS about hunting dogs in some middle eastern country (I think) It was like a love story, something about a poor man who won or was given a beautiful dog??? I cannot remember it much. I dont think the people were real actors and it had narration rather than them speaking lines. Does any of that ring a bell? I've tried to search on youtube with no success.
  16. Poor Neko. She's going to a show tomorrow and I dont normally bath her before hand, in fact, she's only ever had one bath in her life, so I thought it was about time she had another. Marcus tells me he washes his dogs in the shower with him, so I thought I'd try it with her. Well!! She's just had the most traumatic experience of her short life! She stood forlornly as the water started hitting her like she was trapped outside in a heavy downpour, then she started letting out pitiful little squeaks. I tried to talk in a happy reassuring voice and I wet her all over and sudsed her up. When I wet her head she completely collapsed on the floor. I rinsed her off and then had to quickly finish my own shower. While I was washing myself she stool on her hind legs and flattened herself against the tiles with even her underjaw flattened against the tiles, and she squeaked. Tag and Puck were so worried about their little sister that they stood outside the bathroom door and cried too! Of course as soon as I got her out and towelled her dry she was then super excited to tell the boys and Feather about her near death experience and how happy she was to be alive.
  17. well done to you for putting in the effort. And thanks for posting photos, we love photos here, especially that one of them peeking out the window.
  18. How cute!! The shape of her feet at this angle make her look like she's wearing shoes
  19. contact them. I think I read somewhere that they said if they get enough requests for appointments they'll travel.
  20. Happy Gotcha day Ziggy boy. I love the one of him with is front feet on the coffee table looking at you as if to say Yeah, this is normal.
