  1. Thanks for adding me to the list SG! SN, it will be a shame! I love your two furbabies.
  2. On the iPhone so can't copy and Paste the list, but count April, Alexis, Shaun and I in. We will bring fairy bread
  3. 8 week old Shih Tzu cross Stafford. Very... interesting. Looked like a stafford, brindle colour too, but with longish/wirey hair. Its tognue curled up like a pug though.
  4. Glad you have decided on a puppy. Its the old "Choose your breed, choose your breeder" . Find a breeder who is willing to help you, give you advice on everything and anything, someone you can talk to with easy, and of course, cares for their furbabies. Ask plenty of questions! A good breeder will be open about all answer
  5. RIP Odie and Jazz I am very sorry to hear of your loses. I remember Odie from Kepala, and still have his photos on my laptop. He was a gorgeous, playful boy. Odie had suck a good home with you, please don't think other wise. The Pointers, Shaun and I send all our love, hugs and kisses.
  6. Looking forward to seeing the showies in the ring on the 28th.
  7. I have 2 gundogs (Pointers), and 5 rabbits. Rabbits have their hutches during the night, where they have their food, water, hay and chew toys. This is when the dogs can have free run of the backyard, without me there. In the morning, the dogs and I go for a walk to our local park, or to a local off lead area that has creeks and open grass areas. Such a great spot in the mornings. The dogs then get some breakfast, and have a sleep in their crate, in the house. Mid-morning, the dogs get the back veranda, which is fenced off from the backyard, with a cute little swinging gate. While the rabbits get to play in their playpens on the grass. It really comes down to supervision and precautions if having dogs and small animals, but it can work.
  8. I have called them reagrding my neighbours dog. This gorgeous old GSD was lying on her side, couldn't get up, and messed everywhere (cause she couldn't get up, although she would try!!!), and the screaming coming from her. Omg, it was horrible. Pot plants were everywhere too, looks like someone had hurt her. When I called them they said to call the owner.... We did, two hours later he came home, blamed us for his dog, and put her to sleep. Could they not have sent a vet out? I mean, I was in tears from the screaming coming from this poor sweet girl. My friend heard it on the phone, and had to hang up... On top of that, my ex's little sister (she's only 16 years old) got a new dog from them. Meant to be a nice, quiet puppy. Turns out to be a 1 year old JRT with more energy then my Pointers. It can never get enough exercise, and she's doing VCE this year, how will she have the time? If I went with them, I'm still good friends with my ex, I would have told them to go to a different breed of dog, better yet, stay away from the RSPCA. With that said, I go over often, and take the sister and JRT for a walk. Thinking of a You Yangs trip, maybe that will make him sleepy?
  9. Ahhh, I dont have the money to go! This is going to be a really long and really slow 3 day weekend. I want to kick myself, because I really want to meet those Afghans. Next month hopefully!
  10. Hey guys!! Count the pointers, Shaun and myself in. Might see if my dads coming along, and might see if my ex's sister is coming with her dog lol.
  11. Kirislin, thank you. It was very dry out there (just passed Bacchus Marsh), but the dams were still full. :D The mare your talking about, without the bridle or tie down, is a gorgeous 3 year old mare. It was her first time around cows. She did very well. Should add, Dermy (in some of the photos) is in his late 60's.
  12. Hey DOL members! I want to share these photos with you. I spent the day with some 'cowboys' and 'cowgirls' at a friends place. It was a lovely day for it, as you can see in the photos. They enjoyed a good old fashioned BBQ, had a few drinks, and then got roping. I enjoyed the BBQ, had a few drinks and then had a small 5 minute ride as it was the first time being on a horse in 2 years. I only stayed at a walk, but I didn't come off which is great!! Here is the link to the photos as they are on my facebook page - it will take forever to upload onto here. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1056...mp;l=6f98effb11 Hope you all enjoy them.
  13. ;) I don think our dogs worked out what breakers were. Great shots LC!
  14. i would've stayed longer but i got drowned showing the girls! i had to throw my shoes put they got so wet!!! That was a rather bad weekend to be in the ring.
  15. I am. Full timer too. Only recently... If I get sick, I have a sore throat for a day and then the next day I'm fine. If I am sick the next day, you know its something SERIOUS like an infection, and they only come about when I am super stressed. The last 2 months have been bad, hence this chest infection, and the throat infection last month. Pointers don't seem to mind me being home with them. :D I mean, energy for 2 hours, go for a walk or clean the hutches, and then we would sleep for 2 hours.
  16. Spitzbaby, we will have to work it out. I have this weekend off, but Sunday is Kepala, and I have a chest infection. might be during the week one day.
  17. Sorry to hear RR-Melbourne, it will be lovely to meet you soon enough, and see your gorgeous baby run around with the Kepala crew. VERY happy to see the Valls coming along! ;) I have a chest infection, so I won't be taking the Pointers into the pool area, although my father might take the other two. I worked a max of 5 and a half hours this week. Went home early Monday, had Tues, Wed and Thurs off, and then home early today. This infection hasn't been like others I have had....
  18. Another post, sorry! :D I took the Pointers too the beach in Werribee on Friday night, we got there about 6pm!! The girls had a blast. Some photos from the trip are in the Pointer thread. Was very funny to see the girls running a good 50 metres out, in shallow water (tidy must have been out) only to have both girls disappear as they fell into a deep part. ;) April kept running, while Alexis came over to me for reassurance. Poor sooky girl! Although, I must say, Alexis was offlead in an unfenced area! :D

  20. Hi AnimalMad! It will be lovely to meet you. LC spotted you out at the Dalyesford show in the rabbit area the other week. Not if you've got the ball. Maybe you should find a floaty type ball and attach a long line to it, then you can throw it out, let her swim and reel her in. Not a bad idea! I may need a whistle too i think. or a squeaky toy, she responds well to whistles or squeaky sounds so that may work too. Although i think i'll have to take her for a trial day before the official day just to see what she's like! :mad Great idea SG! Nicole, I think a trial day sounds good! :D ;) I'll drive us. Count myself in! Me and my three doggies, and I'll be driving Nicole to the offical day too. Will see if my dad wants to come.
  21. Pointees its 100% fenced off The only way for escape is to swim for it! Its awesome, you should def check it out ;) ;) Owner of Miss April, she will swim, fly, or dig out just for birds.
  22. ;) Maccas is always open! Will take it off, now I am excited!
  23. Is it fenced off? I can't see any fences in the photos. It would have been a lovely day! Not too hot, not too cold. And for fluffy breeds too!
