  1. My vet has a large x poodle and it's a lovely dog, around 9 now. Been coming to work with her since day dot. So well behaved and of course always beautifully groomed, coat kept shortish. If I was in the market for a dog with coat I can see the appeal, until a local groomer posts pictures up of the latest matted to the skin oodle.

It would be important if they can do that to find out if that is the reason or rule it out so that there isn’t some hysteria around this particular dog breed. But how do you prevent a dog from just snapping due to a brain tumour? Are there subtle signs beforehand? How does a person protect themselves from the very unlikely event of that happening?

One of my Greyhounds that I bred had a brain tumour and the first indication was a change in her temperament. In her case there was plenty of signs and she ended up PTS.

  3. Tube feed them. What did the vet say exactly and what treatment are they getting? What breed? At 2 weeks old most breeds would be ok without a feed for 12 hours which is time for meds to kick in. Can give fluids under the skin. Put some bowls of water in the room to keep the air humid. Use a kids humidifier? Have them in the bathroom and run the shower every hour? Surely the vet did more then say they have a cold.

  4. That's for a 20kg and up dog. Beagles don't ( or shouldn't ) weigh that much. I have heard Canada is cheaper for meds then the USA. I don't use that product so not much help but I have received extra tablets and a flattened box ( for postage costs ) when ordering online.
