  1. P-L-E-A-S-E this newbie needs all the encouragement she can get! Bad dress rehersal, terrific performance Bad dress rehersal, terrific performance Bad dress rehersal, terrific performance Bad performance, terrific dress rehearsal oops! LOL Onsard Christian soldiers....
  2. Dyson with a turbo head but I just don't use it as often as I should-when I do use it it is wonderful. I have used other brands before this and did not believe that it was as good as people said. I borrowed someones and it sold itself.
  3. sorry that you had such a bad time but I am sure Daisy just showed how good she was and they were jealous! i find comments like that very unsettling but you Daisy is doing so well you must be doing something right! It is a good thing that they did not see me working with Cindy this morning. I have just had the worse training session ever. I had trouble finding a positive note to finish on! First time ever she has had crooked recalls, no drops, lagging heeling...made me think of scratching on Sunday. No reminding me of "this is fun" posts ......wanders off humming Onward Christian Soldiers and thinking about dog training wars...
  4. LOL I think I will only be telling a select few the date of my first trial If we do ok then they can come to the next one :D Keeping in mind one of the three trials I am planning to enter is at our obedience club so it's quite inevitable we will have a bit of an audience My instructor wants to come but if we stuff up I don't want anyone to know! ;) Don't we do all this becasue it is fun? I had a few watching me (the camera didn't work) and it was helpful feedback. But the nerves..... Remember it is fun....heading off now as I hum Onward Christian Soldiers... Fun? What crazy world are you living in Of cause it is fun otherwise I would not have been training in the drizzle this morning.... :p
  5. I'm excited for you! I can't wait to hear how it goes! I will try to breathe between now and then. LOL I am excited-still a bit cross that we scored 84 (1 below the ring winner) but still was a NQ score ;) Just maybe if I can control my nerves... ...wanders off humming Onward Christian Soldiers thinking maybe it is war not fun....

  7. OMG that is such a good idea especially considering my nerves! I am going to think of you every time we do stays now Who knows why I started doing it!!! But it certainly eases the nerves - I'm always freaked that Jedi's going to scratch so it keeps my mind in another place. That's one thing I forgot to say about Jedi's novice run last night... He hadn't had a steroid for TWO WEEKS!!! I was marching to Onward Christian Soldiers-don't know many tunes to walk to. I don't think anyone was watching. Sunday seems so very close
  8. Humming-now they will know I am crazy LOL but it is a good idea-will try it. I tried this and it worked! I am stoked! Thanks everyone. Ciindy worked really well in short bursts and I managed to keep in time. Cindy did not lag as much as she tends to. Her drops were still slow but better. At our first CCD trial she scored 84 but it was a NQ-only 14 for heeling and I have entered a double trial this Sunday. Dare I hope for a pass or even 2?
  9. The same thing has happened to me. Also someone used my craft patterns to make money so don't get me going. You can do a few things-make your font very distnctictive or make your text a graphic so it can't be altered. If you want to find out if it is a copy highlight the text and copy it into Google search and see what comes up. I know it a form of flattery to be copied but I could well do without this much flattery.
  10. I have just had another thought-is the noise startling/upsetting the owners rather than their puppy?
  11. Humming-now they will know I am crazy LOL but it is a good idea-will try it.
  12. As a temporary solution can you block off the section of the fence with something so the dog can't race along it? Lean some timber against it or the like? Is the pup bored so it is only happening when you aren't there so make a different section of the yard exciting with balls on a rope? Another thought - what about "painting" the fence with vinegar or similar?
  13. Have you tried practicing without your dog? Try not to change your speed to match what the dog is doing, the dog should keep up with you. I was practicing without Cindy last night. I think my neighbours now think I am that crazy dog owner! I think it is my stride length but the more nervous I get the more I stride? Can I hobble myself in the ring?
  14. Another newbie trialling question. How do you keep your own speed consistent? Having had someone watch me with Cindy it seems I change my speed by changing the length of my stride. And I thought I was training Cindy not me getting trained. :D
  15. Thanks for this-I have referred them to this thread.
  16. The hubby has always had dogs-cockers mainly but wife is allergic. I have talked them out of a doodle-I have learnt so much since I got mine (NO FLAMES PLEASE). They don't like poodles so I suggested these dogs. They would like to meet one to check out the allergy situation. she has no reaction to my dog and tests show she is allergic to hair not dander. How terrier like are they and how easy to train/groom?
  17. I have a friend who is interested in geting a wheaten towards the end of the year. Are there any owners or breeders in Victoria here?
  18. I would use a strong cotton rope-BTW I meant Kmart Auto
  19. You can get the inner tubes from most tyre dealers-got one from Kmart that they were throwing out so it was cheap!
  20. Can you take the back seat buddy to the horse rug maker or boot repairer and ask them to put large "button holes" in it so you can put the seat belt through to attach it. I made one myself with a rubber backed heavy material and did the button holes myself.
  21. Well done Enya! Keep enjoying yourself and get that pass!
  22. I am so glad you enjoyed it. I love it too! I signed up at a low level at ADT and became addicted so upped my membership. When they folded I thought-oh well we passed the highest level I won't do anything. The trouble with an addiction is that you can't stop! So I joined an obedience club and am now about to enter the world of trialling. Hope you keep enjoying it and learning heaps. At least you can say that you were warned about the addiction! Must go am off to obedience now.
  23. Try these people http://www.designashed.com.au/ We have ordered from them. ETA: So why didn't I think of them before! A nanna moment I guess.
