  1. The numbers were slightly up on last year, yes it is a smaller show compared with the big Melbourne shows, however considering the dogs and end times of the shows it is perfect... too many more and we would still be showing at 5am
  2. Brighton Dog beach is fabulous, full enclosed and plenty of sand for the dogs to run... My dogs absolutely love it there!
  3. The show is Scheduled for 18th, 19th & 20th of March Next year (it will be the weekend after Noorat, which is the long weekend) for those who are interested. It is a great show, but the first night it always a killer if you have to wait around
  4. Jayshell Ripley today (pm) Kate YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Rippers! Had a feeling thats who it was when I saw it was from Inter. :D ;) :D Gorgeous bitch lovely type and very deserving. Congrats to Shirl and Ripley Dont suppose anyone has any whippet resuts>> I know the Baby whippet got Best in Group at all 4 shows as it was in best baby in show with me, it didn't get an in show tho (1 got 2 out of 4) A Whippet got best in group Sunday (for memory) sorry not sure who it was. It was a hot weekend and the first night was a killer - 3am to bed after getting back to the accom and walking and weeing dogs
  5. Love the FREE PUPPIES 1/2 Cocker Spaniel, 1/2 sneaky neighbour's dog.
  6. I have never been to the Adelaide Royal.... I would love to go!!! I have been to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, maybe it is time to head over this year...
  7. I think everyone has cover it! I have been showing my whole life, so I do have everything (always seem to buy more), but in saying that the Main things I must pack is WATER!!! a bowl, dog treats, I do take my trolley but main reason is for grooming so a table is fine, a brush, comb and my gazebo. Everything else is nice but not vital. I take a chair every week and think I sit in it maybe 4 times a year hehe it is always good to have one though If you can try and get to a couple of shows before you start officially showing. Walk around meet people, get ideas... that way it wouldn't be so stressful when you start, and if you do forget something you need you will have someone to ask Best of Luck

Who is judging in August? I am not 100% sure what breed he has, I do know he will be judging at the NSW Junior Kennel Club show and we have sub-contracted him to do our show. SA is a Specialist Judge from the USA, The husband is doing the SA Speciality and the Wife is Judging the Spitz Breed Club Show the same day. The SA show is in June (2 weeks before the National) it is going to be a busy month

Hi Pip1981 The National is extremely special so that is why it is every three years - you are welcome to come along in 2013 Snopaws is on the Money hehe on the 18th of April, there is a members comp in the morning and then an Open Parade after. This is for all the young dogs that are not yet Champions. Bindi and I will be there, I will only have "Sonnet" and his sisters and Bindi will be taking "Fletcher"... Snopaws "Bundy" will be there too wont he? You are more than welcome to come and mess up our grooming We get about 50 Samoyeds at this show. The Championship show is 8th August 2010, at KCC park, and we generally get around 100 Samoyeds entered. If you do come to the Open show, make sure you come and say hi... I'll be running around like crazy as I am the assistant secretary of the club and playing photographer on the day. Look for Pink and Black hehe

Thanks Icemist Little paws are exciting, we were considering having a litter from Coco which would meant we would have 4-5week old puppies at Nationals time, but it would mean mum or I would have had to stay home and I absolutely love the National and have been looking forward to it for over a year now so we decide to have a litter from Coco and Shimmer after the National. (I don't know whether two at once is more crazy). Queensland are going to put on a show, some of the things they are doing they are setting the bar extremely high. So you don't know if your girl is pregnant yet? For those that have no idea what the National is: It is a dog show held once every three years. Moving around different states, this time it is in Brisbane, Qld and the following will be held in Melbourne, Vic. It is judged by a specialist from overseas and Samoyeds from all around Australia attend. It is the biggest Samoyed show.
  18. Hi Spotted Devil I travelled to Sydney a couple of weekends ago with the dogs. We stayed at Gundagai Tourist Park (a place a have previously stayed) and find it a fabulous place to stay with the dogs. There is camping sites (powered or non-powered) and cabins. We stayed in a cabin with a verandah (where the dogs slept at night). There is lovely green grass to walk the dogs and the owners are friendly. Details are: Gundagai Tourist Park Address: Nangus Road Gundagai NSW 2722 Free call: 1300 722 906 Email: [email protected] Website: http://www.gundagaitouristpark.com.au/ ~ All the best at the Nationals ~

    Rip Tara

It is never easy to say good bye to your best friend. I have grown up with Samoyeds and every one of them is special and unique in their own way. Saying goodbye is definitely the hardest thing you can do and they certainty take a piece of you when they leave. Cherish the moments, laughs and joy your beautiful Tara gave you for 10 years. ~ May your special girl run free ~ Thinking of you in your time of loss Kellie

Sorry for your loss - May Occy run free ~ Cherish the memories ~
  23. This place is lovely if you are going away with one or two dogs. It is a little self contained cabin. The dog(s) are allowed to sleep inside and the people are extremely friendly. I have just been catching up on old posts - sounds like you have had some interesting discussions (sorry I missed them ) Toughgirl I found the above post upsetting, it is always sad to hear of a Samoyed has HD. I am sure you will fine Icemists response helpful. HD is something breeders try their hardest to avoid, and the reason why we take the time to x-ray all breeding stock to prevent this as much as possible. I know most breeders hip and elbow score their dogs, and Bindi is right in saying 0:0 elbows is common. The current breed average is currently 16.93. You may wish to ring your breeder and ask for a copy of the hip score results, just to put your mind at ease.
