Looove Aussies. You'll need to post lots of pics when you eventually get your pup. What's your colour of choice? -

Good for you Ambrosia. :D My puppy hunt has now been put back on hiatus I got so excited about the bitch being in season but it's just not going to work out for us. All these pups at the moment are torture :p -
That joke is in pretty poor taste Poor Bitch Hope the pups get decent care

I go threw fads of research, often ending with a 'no way I could own one of those' If I had to pick a breed available in this country only it would be a Finnish Lapphund I luffs them. Close second is an Australian Shepherd. If I could have any dog in the whole wide world and one day it will happen that dog would be an Icelandic Sheepdog.

I'm glad he's had some food now! -
Our cat is named Corpsegrinder ( a reference to the lead singer 'Corpsegrinder' from the band Cannibal Corpse) We laughed, there was no way he could live up to his name. Well he has the deep guttural growl of Corpsegrinder himself. Esky carries our drinks but only cause we make her

What Do You Do When You Can't Agree?

Ours was a compromise I had sooo many breeds I liked, so we crossed of traits my OH didn't like to get to where we are. There will be no more huskies in the future though :p -

My Dog Ate A Pack Of Mars Pods Chocolate
Esky the husky replied to happie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yep call the vet, they have a way of working out if you dog has had a toxic dose and needs to come in or not. Esky my husky ate almost a whole big block of cadbury hazelnut chocolate. I phoned the after hours vet and he advised us she would be fine. -

Oh poor Indie. -
Not a Cavvy, but you can see how white markings can change/ vanish over time. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...5623&st=120 You can see how one of the pups has lost his white blaze all together. Of course this is well within the standard for Lappies. If the pup is the right fit for your family I would not hesitate to take it.

What Do You Use To Organise Your Dog Stuff?
Esky the husky replied to heroeswit's topic in General Dog Discussion
Waterproof container outside filled with toys Food in pantry Leash and collar on hook outside Other stuff (sled harness, backpack, waterbottles) is on shelving in the garage -
There are plenty of good resources around Try having a read of the Ian Dunbar Ebooks Before you get your puppy and After you get your puppy. Just type those titles into google and you'll be able to download and read them for no cost. Probably a good starting point. There is a section of the book that covers setting up a long term confinement area (a spot for your pup while you're at work.) It's basically a pen with food, toys a place to sleep and a place to toilet. Also do some reading up on crate training. An absolute godsend. Have a look on you tube as well at kikopup's channel. She is a clicker trainer and her tutorials a very very good. Watch some of the videos, it'll give you an idea on how some people train their dogs. DOL is a great resource for gathering links, but there is no be all and end all way to raise a puppy. It's good that you're doing some research beforehand, I'm sure you'll make great owners

Sounds pretty good to me. Your dog will probably sleep the whole time you're gone at work

I love the name Joss BTW. It screams 'I am woman hear me roar' Our 'family alphabet' helps keep naming easy (or easier) We had the name Esky picked out months and months before we approached any breeders We even had our lappie name decided on, but funnily enough, not long after we'd decided another DOLer named their Lappie the exact same thing. I can't wait to see more photos Anna, should help tide me over :D -

You found out which one then Can we have pics yet??? Pretty please ETA It's still not fair that you get 2 Lappies when I haven't even got 1 yet -
Also consider that you feed less of a good quality food, as there is less 'filler' It's like the difference between eating a nice steak, compared to a burger stretched to it's limits with onion and breadcrumbs. You get more protein and less other stuff from the steak

Shared from facebook Please tell every dog or cat owner you know. Even if you don't have a pet, please pass this to those who do. Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by TARGET, Foreman's Garden Supply and other garden supply stores contains a lethal ingredient called ' Theo bromine'. It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like chocolate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die. Several deaths already occurred. Although the mulch has NO warnings printed on the label, upon further investigation on the company's website, this product is HIGHLY toxic to dogs and cats.
