Hey at least these people were honest with you. Better that than telling you everything you wanted to hear, and then using one of your pups for breeding anyway. Hopefully you have enlightened them and they think carefully about their next pet.

When Buying From A Registered Breeder Poll 1
Esky the husky replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
I do like a good website, just to see pictures- achievements etc. There are some great breeders in the breed I'm looking at. The websites have pictures of the pups growing up in their pet homes too. I think that shows that these are breeders who won't just give you a puppy then never respond to your emails. Luckily for me in the breed I'm looking a large number of the breeders are DOL members, so I've gotten a feel for the kind of people they are in an informal way. They are all lovely btw The breed club thing doesn't bother me. Since the breed I'm seeking is still fairly rare I'm expecting to wait about 1-2 years (well from when I decided I wanted one ) There have been opportunities for me to get a pup earlier, but I think I'll wait it out -
Husky And Malamute Owners Here Please
Esky the husky replied to hortfurball's topic in General Dog Discussion
At my inlaws place my girl (husky) was always elbow deep in the water buckets. She has a clamshell pool at our new place and loves it. It helps her cool down after a walk or intense zooming -
Great effort from the DOL community I'm very glad a follow up was published!

How Many Breeds Can One Breeder Have?
Esky the husky replied to zizzi's topic in General Dog Discussion
And I would not touch them with a 20 foot pole I know of some really good breeders in the breed i am interested in who have more than one breed. But the dogs are all well looked after and well loved Which is the number one priority for me -
Didn't like the first method so much, but I love that wheel I've always joked with my OH about getting one of those I didn't think they were for real

Yes I was using food. In my left hand and feeding straight to her mouth.
