  1. Ker if you need a break from her I'll take her off your hands for a week Esky needs a playmate/ partner in crime
  2. Dammit you made me Squee again Wonders what it could be.......
  3. <3 Ok ok I'll come *squee* Will this little fluffer be a Lowchen?
  4. Not coming anymore *walks away grumbling *
  5. Can we please add this to the list SA Pet Zest - Hallet Cove Shopping Centre Pet deli they sell premium kibble as well as premade dog rolls and a variety of different minces too. I think they had bones too.
  6. I hope I can come I haven't been to a meet for a few months. Esky needs a good run around with some other dogs since shes an only child at the mo.
  7. Yeah my dad did that once. The feds were round quicker than we could blink
  8. I haven't switched yet but the next dog in line here will be a Finnish Lapphund. I've been in the husky puppy mode for the past 16 months. Our first husky bitch passed away in a road accident at 9 months and not long after we bought young Esky into our home Although I love her to bits she can be very full on and sometimes very frustrating to train. And she's a good husky. I've heard absolute nightmares about huskies with inappropriately prepared owners. The lappie fits both mine and my partners idea of the ideal dog and all the ones I've met have just made me want one more
  9. I think there needs to be a few more options in the first question. When we're out Esky is usually left outside. If it's bad weather I'll leave her in a room of the house. When were home she can be inside or outside as she chooses
  10. Maybe wash her 6-8 times This must be what showies have nightmares about
  11. Just a quick tip. Bunnings has 'compost panels' which a lot of people use as puppy play pens/ confinement areas. It'd be worthwhile picking one up if you can, as they do really come in handy
  12. Oh it is the same Dutch. These are very cute calenders. Would make great xmas presents
  13. Good on you Parrot Pea You'll find the right boy for your pack. The hardest bit is waiting
  14. Holy smokes!! I'm never ever letting Esky see this
  15. No I haven't submitted, Typical my voice has gone all weird. Needs to get it in by tomorrow Esky has the seatbelt clip thing (the first one I mentioned) I'd say it's not a good idea for your little fella. It's on the smallest setting but she can still move around a bit. I'm having trouble finding a car harness for her though. I tried a large size on her, but it was too small. Given the choice though I would go with harness, or having a collapsible 'spare' crate that you just leave in the car
  16. You can get attachments that clip onto your dogs harness and then plug into the spot you normally plus a seatbelt. Basically a lead with a seatbelt on the end. You can also get harnesses designed for the car that a lot of people have. The normal car seatbelt goes through the back of the harness and buckles in place. If you look around there are ones that have been crash tested
  17. Have a read of Ian Dunbars book After you get your puppy. It's a free E book It details a 'long term confinement area' which is for this sort of scenario. Basically its an area fenced off in the house, it's bigger than a crate. There is a place for the dog to sleep, room to stand up and move around, a water bowl, some toys and at the opposite side of the pen an indoor toilet, or pee matt for the puppy to go on. Link to it ;) http://www.dogstardaily.com/files/AFTER%20...our%20Puppy.pdf
  18. I second this Come in and join us in the Spitz thread. A couple who own Jap Spitz, they could help point you in the right direction. BTW don't be afraid to look at breeders outside your state. Many breeders will fly your pup over to you.
  19. It is all in the delivery, be stealthy about it. You want to lecture, without them realising they are being lectured. I always try and be really 'casual' about my 'lectures' When people ask me about Esky, I start telling them how she's worth every cent because she came from a kennel that does really well in the show ring. Usually that leads to a "wow cool" And then I start talking about how registered breeders will sell their dogs to pet homes. (cause not everyone knows that) Then I mention the health testing and that's about it I learn so much from rants etc on here. Before I came onto dog forums, all I knew about dogs was what my parents taught me. And I disagree with most of their views now
  20. Depends on a lot I guess. If your planning on showing then they'll need to be kept intact. Will they be inside with you or kenneled in runs outside?
