Thanks Pers. He seems "ok" enough health wise, still skinny and loosing his coat like crazy, but apart from choosing to sleep 24/7 he is "ok". Just newly got him to eat 3chicken necks after having him out with me all day yesterday and today but wont take anymore now. See what happens tomorrow.

He will take maybe two pieces of kibble or equivilent amount of anything we offer and that about it, looses intrest again.

He hasnt eaten anything since those pork steaks on Monday . Tried the some rountine as that day. Tried more doggy playdates. Tried pork, lamb chops cooked and raw, gravey beef, chicken necks, chicken legs, all table scraps Ohwell, barium meal for him tomorrow morning at the vets to double check for blockages. Knew I shouldnt have got so excited. ETA~ He is still happy when he is out and about but utterly miserable at home. He is either curled up in a ball on the grass (even if you let him out to the toilet at 11pm, curls up instantly on the cold wet grass even if you go outside with him) or he dissapears into my room the for entire day. Rarely see him

Exactly SK! Ive just just lost my beautiful girl and would do anything to have her back, yet these morons are delibratly risking the life of this poor little girl to get these "very rare breeds". Absolutly livid right now! Any person with two brain cells would know that the chance of that bitch surviving that pregnacy would be extremly low, suprised she even survived the mating. It is just downright cruelty!

Feel sick to my stomach. Just seen an add for "a very rare breed". Bloody idiots have mated a JRT bitch to a male Rottie and the poor sweetheart had 10 puppies! What the hell is wrong with these people!!! Sorry, I had to vent, it is just so wrong and sickening! Some people are completly messed up in the head! That poor, poor little JRT!

I know this will be a challenge but try really really hard NOT to hover around the food... it might increase his anxiety. Indi and the pork steaks reminds me of that wonderful scene in the movie Shirley Valentine with the bloodhound? and the steak. Havent seen that one sorry PF. Its all good, I was inside the house, watching him from a distance through the window. I just threw him a steak and closed the verandah gate and backdoor so he couldnt go bury it (usual routine with him and Bonnie), then threw him another one when he had finished the first etc. Just nipped outside to get a quick photo on the last one, then left him alone to finish it. Left him outside for a good 15min afterwards and didnt make a deal of it when I let him in. Now to tempt him tomorrow with less expense cuts of meat lol, wish me luck!

:p Better go buy something for dinner...dont think the OH would be too happy at Indie getting pork steaks whilst he gets a toasted sandwich lol. He will still be chuffed though, just better make something to rival Indies dinner lol. He would have kept eating by the looks of it but dont want to let him eat anymore today....ok 3 pork steaks isnt exactly keeping it small but couldnt help giving him them when he was managing to eat and keeping it down. First time Ive managed to feel his stomach in a while, so nice to feel a firm waist for once. SO so so happy! This "trying not to get my hopes up too much" bit isnt really working... Just praying that this is it, that he keeps eating. Watching him investigate the first steak was like watching paint dry! He just kept licking it, walking off, licking it, walking off. Then he seemed to have a bit of a hard time eating it so I started kicking myself for not cutting it up and perhaps putting him off eating it. All of a sudden you could see the light bulb turn on, I have NEVER seen him eat with such gutso before. Devoured it like he hadnt eaten in weeks (which he hadnt), so chuffed right now!

He was hanging out for Pork Steaks Fantastic news!! Go Indie SSSSHHHHHHH....that was supposed to be dinner tonight ;)

HEY GUYS .......... 3 Pork steaks!!!!!!!

They wanted to wait and do barium this Friday if he is still not eating, but if he gets more lethargic they want to take him in straight away to do it. I was going to call them first thing tomorrow morning and ask them to take him in sooner as he hadnt eaten anything (excluding a small amount of nutrigel yesterday) since that 1/4 BBQ chicken breast on thursday but........ HE JUST ATE 3 BOILED SAUSAGES AND 4 RAW EGGS!!! Not getting my hopes up too much but its a start, first half decent feed since Bonnie died 3weeks ago. Typical Sibe, I go buy the nutrigel and A/D and he decides to eat proper food. Havent triedto force the A/D yet, I scared him enough trying to make him take the nutrigel, got a wet trouser leg for my efforts. Tried taking him out with us for a picnic today , he was REALLY intrested in the smell of the food but not eating it when we gave it too him. He ran around a little bit with my nephews and had a zoomie moment, was so great to see him enjoying himself. When we got home, I imediatatly ditched the kids (bad mother that I am) and went to fix him a meal since he was so happy. HE WOLFED IT DOWN! So happy that he has finally eaten something. Fingers crossed he keeps it up as he is looking even worse than before and is loosing his coat in a big way (you would think I had 3 Sibes blowing coat in my house at the moment). :D Finally a happy post! Ill see what tomorrow brings and see if I still need to push up his next appointment. Fingers crossed he's turned the corner! ETA~ The bowl was even licked clean :D

Right now they are as skinny and as long as your little finger. Had them checked aswell as urine, again nothing came back.

Had him at the inlaws on good Friday, left him with a steak and went inside where he couldnt see me/ wouldnt have known that I hadnt actually left. Only time Ive tried it. Didnt eat the steak, just got major anxiety trying to break into the house/escape the yard. Ended up having to take him into my inlaws "strictly no dogs inside" house to calm him down (tried to lauch himself through a closed window), it was his first time at someone elses house without Bonnie. Only way I would try it again would be if the person had a secure run. Dont trust him not trying to escape if I left him at someone elses house. Wary about stressing him out anymore.

Just waiting for OH to get back so I can go to the vet for it. They didnt want to give him it untill the results were in. Nup for the milk, he DID like milk but not anymore.

That was my other corcern. Dont want to put him through the loss again. Would have to look for a more pernament dog urgently if it did work or get a pernament dog in the first place. Alot to talk about with my OH tonight.

Tried it, thats how we were getting him to eat slices of ham. Wouldnt touch it if we didnt take a bite first but that trick has since worn off unfortunatly. Just dont get why he is so determined not to eat. You would think that since that trick was working that it would atleast keep working if nothing more, but nope. Its like "Oh, I see what your trying to do! Well Im not falling for it anymore." Ive tried gettin gthe kids to feed him peanut butter toast, any left overs but not even their attempts work. If you put food in front of him when hes lying down he will activly get up and move away from it, makes no sense.

Either loves or is indifferent to everydog, wether its huge/tiny/male/female/entire/friendly/aggressive. Chilled out boy although vet thought that was due to an underlying condition, not your normal 20mth old Sibe. Hes never been puppyish or Sibe-ish, even when he was just a pup. Ill talk to OH tonight and see about fostering for a week or two to see if theres any improvment in him, cant do any harm can it?

Trying to think who I know that has a "guts"...Cant think of any that I would put him with, ie all under-socialised entire males.

With the exception of the lambs brains, Ive tried them all lass. Tried everything in the pantry and walking up and down Coles looking at things that might spike his appetite, all Im achieving is ALOT of wasted food and new wildlife visiting the garden . Ive tried to feed him when the other dogs are here but he just sniffs at it and walks off. They have all been either smaller dogs or puppies...and they have all eaten the food, plus his (tiny amounts). Tried putting him in "his place" up on the veranda at them in Bonnies place, tried hand feeding them both in sit position and tried just scattering the food around. Still not intrested he was so excited to have another dog around that he just didnt care less about the food. He must be hungry, he shadows me as soon as I start cooking but when I offer him something he just walks away.

Cool, cool, Ill ask for some when I get there. He just said to try everything possible but especially try and get high energy/protein foods into him. *Looks at the mince, bbq chicken, cubed lamb and bones still sitting untouched *

They were the same age but she was 100% the Boss around here. Do you think that it could have been that even when they were completly seperated (through a fence/or inside/outside) at mealtimes? Would that mean I would have to get an older dog to pull him into line or a young dog still be able to encourage him to eat? Ill deffinaltly get onto Lyn to see if she can help him. Just remembered my OH's Uncle likes rabbit for dinner....hr drive but Ill try steal some off of him (wont tell him its for the dog though, Id have no chance of getting any then). I vagually remember the butcher in cronulla having it but not sure if they still would, might send a friend to check for me.
