  2. Bonno is a lucky kelpie pup who was saved from being drowned to his death before his life had even started he is now looking for a forever home but this is his story.. Two kelpie pups were drowned at a sale/stock yard as they did not sell that day and bonno was going to be his third, because this person didn't want to take them back to tamworth. Bonno was about to take his last breath before being hesitantly saved. This man should be charged and put on goal for life and not allowed to touch animals again. What this person did was not only wrong on so many level but animal cruelty at it's worst, two defenceless young pups. The lady who saved bonno, does not wish to speak up to any one not even me or the rescue for reason i do not know o this is where my road ends... so if anyone goes to these sale yards in NSW please help find who did this!!!! If anyone works for a newspaper company please try to get Bonno's story printed to help raise awearness about Animal crulty right before our eyes, it may be too late to catch this man but i can only try and do what i feel is right but need support, one lady has already said she would help so would like to get this wagon rolling and try to find out who did this with the lady who saved bonnos life or not. HELP ME FIND WHO DID THIS..
  3. just read this i hope the man that drowned two of my fosters brothers/sister gets this if found !!!
  4. i have currently four dogs with me at the moment, my two adults then one foster pup and one 5 m.o who i am baby sitting for about 3 weeks from today, so i am guessing i will have four dogs for a while.. My two are great as they are both grown up and have manners and put both young pups in there place if they cross the line which they both need. But i am having a little trouble with my foster pup who is 12 weeks he is great with the older dogs and by himself he is magical in all aspects but hasn't had much chance at proper socialisation with bouncy pups where manners come into it as he is still learning mouthing/biting and when enough is enough. He bites the 5m.o female who is just a bit bigger and gentle, she is a bit unsure when he chases her (herding) but it looks like the 12 w.o is playing ruff and grabbing her fur as it is a longish coat, if she keeps coming back for more play does this mean he isn't hurting her and should i let them continue and see if the older pup tell him off? as it doesn't look gentle but she doesn't look like the one to tell him off when it hurts. i don't have a crate for settling time so one goes outside and the 12 week old pup stays inside and is made to settle. but as soon as they both are inside again the game start imediately, how do i control there ruff play by myself?? should i train them together with food to teach them to relax with each other to get food ? stuck..
  5. haha omg that was just soo adorable i really enjoyed watching that youtube clip of your babies, very well done. i just need to get myself a video camera now
  6. the photo where lola is on your sons trailer bike her face is priceless
  7. i never really got to choose my breed of dog as it sort of found me, as a xmas gift. (don't worry my family had approved) My aunty has always had really smart dogs and they were kelpie x border collies i never knew that though, i always knew i wanted a smart dog that i could train for obedience. i wasn't really keen on the colour of kelpies, but that was changed when brandy arrived xmas day and what's better then one, two kelpies so two years later i decided it was time to add another dog to the family and for me to train being able to choose that second dog i knew it would have to fit into brandy's personality so when i went to the beach i would watch for the dogs she would hang around with the most every time i went and it was another herding breed so we knew we couldn't go wrong with another kelpie which we loved anyway, but when they both move on, i am not sure if i will get another one as they are quite high energy dogs which i don't think i will have the time for and it wouldn't be fair on them.
  8. haha my adult dogs just got some down there throat for there bad allergies sound asleep as i type.
  9. Agreed too. I thought at first he was going to say he threw the dog away to save it!!! i thought he was about to say that too, he looked like he was on drugs his eyes and mouth were all over the shop. i also think this bloke is an idiot who fishes where there are croc's twice/three times the size of you. that is like going swiming in a school of fish in the ocean and thinking you won't be taken by a shark. poor pup.
  10. Best thing your friends could do is completely ignore, from when they enter to until they leave until allowing her to go at her own pace to sniff them out and until she got comfortable with people coming and going. i find these type of dogs will bond to one person. Also a lot of timid/shy dogs won't eat in situations where they are in that state. If she is eating the fish when is it (eg, when people are around her, or away from her) as you could be encourging that shy behaviour with the reinforcement of food?
  11. did it have a bath and dry aswell, as i know our groomers charge 70 + depending on the temp of the dog and size
  12. i know a lot of small breed vomit the comfortis back up, my aunties dog does sometimes (toy poodle) she has to make sure the dog has eaten a large some of food/meat before waits 5-10 minutes then she give the dog the whole or half a tablet.
  13. They should the coats can differ also, my black and tan girl has a double coat which the under coat will come out when brushed but she tends to get pongy after a few weeks or so, but my black boy has a more wirey thin haired coat which is a magnet for dust and is a bad shedder but doesn't smell really. wet dogs smell urgh in the car worst smell to be surrounded by haha I find the black cocker spaniels to be the worst smelling dogs i have encountered over time, that they have a thick dense coat and when not groomed on a regular basis and there ears cleaned oh boy they stink!
  14. Just made it Phewwwf. haha here is my bob sled buddy ahha 13/52 i think ?? Also here is my new foster kelpie BONNO who needs to find a home so if you know anyone please PM me, who was about to be drowned at a sale yard as he didn't get sold and the "fwit owner" had already drowned two and bonno was next before he was saved. goes to show whhy reputable breeders are soo important. excuse my bad editing isn't meant to be viewed at large hehe
  15. haha i was talking about this exact problem today, My boy who is almost 4, yes 4! still does it due to over excitement overload. He doesn't jump on me or my mum so it is harder to teach him not to but on other people god help us when they make it worse by letting him jump and patting him! we start our training tomorrow learning not to jump on others.
  16. BUMPING lets get photos going !! my pair> my honey bear BRANDY with her wriggly nose and my turned
  17. same here My foster dogs just pooed everywhere when they were on bonnie the kibble was just that big for working breed one they didn't like it at all compared to supercoat, if i had a choice it would be supercoat from the store, but i really wouldn't touch them for my own dogs. If you dog can handle raw i would go with making your own BARF type diet with all the veggies fruit etc better for them, then all the fillers by-products and meal that are in those brands.
  18. LOVE these, particularly the lab on the couch - beautiful colours and what an expression! gees if I was as 'bad' as you, I'd be pretty happy :-) i was just about to say i agree, if it makes you feel any better check out my terrible dog shots haha big confidence boost right there hahaha i am horrible with moving animals, that tiger is stunning, great pic!! flowers are more my at my level, you have lovely photos!
  19. my kelpie isn't the biggest fan of puppies getting in her face as i was fostering she is going on 6 and we had youngens from 4 weeks to 16 weeks she would play with a few then the next day tell them off for getting in her face, i hoping in your case as the pup grows they will be able to walk together, they will get along better.
  20. ahh ok, damn as i have heaps of tea bags! ah well my list may be a little longer than fleas, but shhh the less i think about them the better i will be :D thank you will have a look at the link
  21. would normal tea have the same effort in large quantities ?
  22. Out at training on a field, one is on a post tethered At home they are on a stay and i switch regulary between them. They will watch me at home as i have food but at training they will have a bark or two then stop laydown sniff and just wait until it is there turn to be off the post. if i am playing tug-o-war they start to get excited at training i let them carry on as when it is there turn they seem to want to work better. pro of letting them watch not sure? but for me, the dog that doesn't always performs to his best performs better when he gets freedom and rewards after watfching the older dog play. con's distraction to the dog working and other people if the other tethered, crated dog is crying and barking ETA for spelling
  23. My two dogs are allergic to flea bites, we are lucky enough not to have any till now and have never had a problem unless from outings. But i was smart enough to take one of my dogs to the property which is just flea prone, and forgot to bring the capstar so he came home with fleas eek my nightmare. So now after him having fleas on him from sunday, i got the flea comb out and killed many as possible that day and the next. I gave both of my dogs an interceptor tablet monday and a one and a half tablets of capstar, one yesterday, 1/2 today and the dog i took to the property was still going nuts. His skin is a little inflamed and irritated, i am not sure if the constant brushing of the flea comb on his skin has irritated his skin even more, of if it is the reaction from him chewing himself has cause his skin to get this way nothing bad that the vets is needed. So i got up early this morning and gave him a warm bath and he is now relaxed, and snuggled on my bed (hoping i killed the fleas) so some questions, what next ! ~ we have large foam mats covered is fake sheep wool by the looks on top of flea free beds but they are really to large to fit in our washing machine, i want to wash them what would be the best way to do so? i would like to use bleach but it will discolour the beds. ~ Is there any natural products of homemade remidies/ spray mixes that i can use to kill the fleas hiding in my pavers or to put on bedding? ~ is there anything i can put on my dogs skin to help reduce the ich and red imflamed areas? we are out of bedadine..
