  1. Hey there! Sounds like you are on the right track. I had a bit of trouble getting responses from breeders, was easier for meto email first and follow up call a day or so later (just to make sure they received it and to offer them the chance to ask questions). Some just never returned email or calls I always knew I wanted a girl, to dote on with fun bows and collars. <3 Best of luck!!!
  2. Oh awesome on the squeeezz toys! I didn't realise they'd be good for teething. Off to do another order lol!
  3. Thanks heaps! I've done 2 clean run orders but wanted some teether toys for pup. Might check vet-n-pet!
  4. Might I ask toy gurus, where in aus I can buy more toys? Wanted to get some non free toys from clean run but postage was $36 extra.
  5. Looks like you have read the same books as I have!! Might I add a question to the mix? Would it be terrible to have an indoor potty for night time? Or is it better to just take them outside durin the night? I only ask as we live 2 storey and backyard where 'poo corner' is isn't very quick or easy to get to (if pup is in our room) Can I also ask, crate trained pups, do they need a crate as adults?? Or do they grow out of it??
  6. I bought one from Leonard's today for $0.35 to try it out, my Goldie took it outside, had a bit of a chew and now it is still sitting there. Not sure if he knows what to do with it?! I am not looking forward to going to pick it up and throw it away. I hope he bloody eats it soon!
  7. And I'm I've done my second order... And I daresay if its still running in a fortnight I'll have another one down. But I wanted to get the essentials first, then extras. 2 wobblers, medium kong and a few cuz toys. I inspected the wobblers at a pet stores and they are HUGE! So I just got 2 small ones lol.
  8. Ah ok! I'll do a small rub down. I'll drive down the road before letting her go. Or she can go in the crate if she needs to. Works about a 40 min drive, depending on traffic and I'll be getting after school and maybe work traffic 3:30-4. Thanks all for the advice! Lots of things I wouldn't have thought of!
  9. Thankfully there will only be 2 of us working and my manager wants to come meet her. We may have a patient coming buy but that should be everyone.
  10. Good point! Maybe I'll do a wipe down of the area with disinfectant afterwards as well to be doubly sure. We are in health, but the area she'll be in doesn't need to be sterilised. I saw someone had disinfectant wipes, maybe I'll invest in those??
  11. Just thinking I might take an old baby bath or tub for a quick bath. Would the airport have a tap or something for that? Also how careful do I have to be with her walking on the ground? She is getting her second vac on Saturday but I've heard until final vac you shouldn't let them roam on the ground where unvaccinated dogs might've eliminated. How cautious do I need to be?? Is there even an alternative??
  12. Ah so the mesh backed harness with the cute wings wouldn't be all that great? looks similar to a rope one just has the mesh back. Thanks for all the words of confidence. I am just hoping she comes up safe and sound!
  13. Ah thank you all for advice! I have a harness and leash on its way, would a collar be better? I'll pick up a few things and let her decide what she wants to do. I didn't realize about the smoked bones! I just bought one for my GR a few days ago. He's not overly fussed on it though Good suggestions on bones. It will be fine for her to have one as the floor is Lino and the cleaners come in Wednesday morning. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. Pups fly fine all the time right? I've flown 3 cats to Adelaide and back before, but they were all old Never flown a pup.
  14. Does anyone know if they will do anything for her on the Sydney stopover? Or will she just be left in the crate until she arrives?
  15. Oh this is great advice thank you! I didn't think about mess, good idea. I'll see if I can get a baby gate to block off the side office as it won't fit a pen, but we will need to be in and out. Sorry if this sounds daft, but what sized bone do I grab? I have no idea how big she is or what is suitable for her size. I think she'll be 11 weeks when we get her and she's a beagle. Also, smoked bone from pet store or fresh bone from butcher or rawhide bone?
  16. I'll be taking lots of pics when I get her home!! I'll have to put a whole thread in photos I think :D It is quite unusual isn't it! But has a nice punchy sound to it. I think I'm going to wait until I bring her home. Boy names are easy for me, Hamlet, Loki, Bach, Strauss lol But girls names are trickier.
  17. Wow he is absolutely stunning! Love his red collar too, very striking contrast with his spots. I need to take some photography lessons from you.
  18. How gorgeous!!! Good to hear all is healthy.
  19. Naw how cute! Very happy looking dogs :D
  20. We are getting my pup flown in to Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon from Tasmania. There is a stopover in Sydney. I am concerned about the long flight, but I am hoping all goes well. Is there anything in particular I can do for her when she gets here? I thought the first thing was to let her eliminate outside and give her some fresh water. Should I bother bringing her food? Or avoid feeding after such an ordeal? The breeder says she will probably not feel up to eating and may loose a bit of weight after the flight. Just want to do the bt possible for her when she gets off. Unfortunatley I am working the day she comes in, however, have taken 2 hours off to go pick her up and I am lucky enough to be able to bring her back to work with me. I don't want to leave her at home all alone without being able to keep an eye on her. I only have about an hour left at work anyway, and I will have to be there. If I could, I would forgo it all together but I'm trying to make do. So any suggestions on what I should bring along to make her comfortable right after the flight and then for the hour and a half she'll be at work. I have an area I can put her crate and a bowl, and can even spread a bit of paper if she needs to go. I am assuming she might just want to sleep after the big ordeal, but I don't know. Thanks in advance!
  21. Thank you :D :D Having fun looking at all the fun things to buy her!!! Going a bit crazy Already made 2 cleanrun orders, and scouring eBay for the CUTEST things, mostly from Korea it seems! (It's a fancy collar) (christmas outfit) (everyday collar) I want, but not getting: Because my husband will kill me if I spend this much & I doubt my pup will last long in it. Seems very small . Another name in the ring, I've got it down to Luna and Melody and I'll decide when I meet her. (Melody Pond is Amelia Pond's daughter. I prefer Melody to Amelia)
  22. Just got a call, flight booked for Tuesday! Well I guess 2 more days isn't going to kill me! More time to get name sorted.
  23. It has a nice sound Luna! Ends in vowel, short and sweet and means moon. <3
  24. Haha yes, unless they got the MLP reference. Saving scootaloo for my horse I loved Bunny but that's too cute for an adult dog. Looking at the list like that I think the short list is: Luna Lilly Amelia Pond (can call pond, Mia, Amy)
  25. Yay! I vote for Pond :D What is on your shortlist? Haha more of a long list! No particular order... Amelia Pond (doctor who reference) Lilly / Tigerlilly (just like it) Odette (swan princess) Luna (sailor moon) Serena (see above) Rose (my daughters suggestion) Periwinkle (tinkerbelle sister) Sweetie Belle (my little pony) Seraphina and Ophelia I love but I know probably too long for a pup. It was suggested Nala to match my Simba lol but not overly fond of it. Trying to find one thing punchy and feminine, but a bit unusual? Big on fantasy names.
