  4. Guesses as to how much it will cost? I would be so interested to do this, but being a poor student living paycheck to paycheck doesn't help
  5. She looks a lot like my sister's dog Libby Puppy Teen Grown-up Libby is a ridgeback x staffy x lab x boxer
  6. Very cool, thanks for sharing! I really love the Irish terriers I have met, we have two at my agility club and they are very nice dogs- one goes to school with her owner and spends the day relaxing with her owner! We also have a Kerry Blue at my club, another very nice dog :)
  7. They're great huh! Sometimes one stands up, but I quite like how they are sitting now! She's a mutt! :D She was an accident, mother is a short haired Border Collie, dad a smooth coat Jack Russell Terrier. Okies! More beach photos And some pics from tracking/playing after tracking
  8. Agree with doing as much as possible with them seperately. Training, walking, feeding and sleeping should be seperate. I would take them to different puppy classes, taking littermates that live together to classes together has been pretty disasterous in every situation I have seen it happen.
  9. Wow stunning! Love them! Never seen a bi-black before, if only shelties came in a smooth coat I would be sooo tempted...
  10. I don't go out of my way to interact with children, but I certainly don't hate them. I am very uncomfortable with the sort of children who barge up and cuddle me, or sit in my lap. I am happy to have a conversation with kids, or hang out, but I am not big on being touched (by anyone), especially by sticky fingers ahhhhh! Usually it's the noise that does my head in, moaning, whining, crying coming from anything (flatmate, cat, dog, kid) drives me mental.
  11. Beautiful! LOVE dragonflies!
  12. My gorgeous puppy! Flippy floppy ears In her new tracking harness So sweet :) Got the agility club bandanna on in support With friends!
  13. Elsie loves moths! Last night at agility we had the flood lights on and I let Elsie out for a run and she just raced around catching moths!
  14. If you have a puppy that has naturally erect ears, at what age were they standing? Did they drop during teething and go up after? I am just curious, as my mix breed puppy has one ear standing now (4.5 months old) and one with just the tip dropped, I am wondering if her ears will make it all the way up or if they will flop back down when she is done teething. I know I could tape them if I cared enough, but I am just curious :) Pictures of your semi-erect eared puppies would be most appreciated too ;)
  15. Great discussion so far, very interesting.
  16. Totally off topic here, but my little sister (person LOL) is named Scout, she used to get hassled at school for having a boy's name, but loves it now :D
  17. I'm not too sure, but on another forum we were talking about tracking and how in NZKC tracking the dog wears a harness (so they can pull into it), and a person into SchH said they start their dogs on prong collars because they want a controlled search. I know they are also strict about deep nose etc. What I have gathered from my week of training (lol) is that in NZKC tracking speed is not important (some dogs blast along, dragging owners behind them, while others go slowly and carefully), style isn't too important either... as long as they follow the track, take the corners, indicate the articles and get to the end.
  18. I can sympathise, I have friends going through this at the moment... One dog had a bad shoulder injury, has been off since August last year, every time they think she is coming right she will come up lame again. They are looking at retirement now I believe, she is 6 and an AGGRCH.
  19. We had our first tracking lesson today, it was so fun! I think I am hooked! So neat to watch Elsie working, loving it and doing something so natural! Got to track with one of the experienced dogs on a 45min old track to see how it looks, very fun experience.
  20. Yep, I have seen this. It isn't an "oodle" breeder any more though, they have changed their breed name to something else. It used to be Australian Labradoodles, got some weird name now. Wondering if they are going to go for ANKC recognition
  21. I handle friends dogs in agility, I keep the ribbons from one while she keeps the clear round certs, and the other two keep everything, except clear round certs and ribbons for young kennel club events.
  22. One of my clients uses a pet loo (well their dogs do!). They initially had problems getting the dog to toilet on the loo, they would sometimes go beside it on the deck instead.
  23. Woohoo weave proofing! > Lee Windeatt Weave Proofing 2011
  24. The only dog I have seen that had serious issues with skin folds was a Bulldog that came into the kennels I worked at, he had very tight rolls just above his nose that we had to clean in twice a day, it was very sore and red looking
