The Afghan Hound Club of NSW Lure Coursing Fun Day Sunday March 21st, 2010 Bill Spilstead Complex for Canine Affairs, Erskine Park Lure coursing is a performance event developed in the early 70's by sighthound fanciers who hunted jackrabbits in the open field, which risked the harm caused by barbed wire fencing. They invented lure coursing as a safer, more controlled sport for sighthounds that would recreate the physical requirements of open field coursing, allowing them to continue testing the functional abilities of their sighthounds. Lure coursing aims to preserve and develop the coursing skills inherent in the sighthounds and to demonstrate that they can perform the functions for which they were originally bred. The hounds chase plastic bags on a course laid out to simulate escaping game. The plastic bags are pulled around on a nylon string course, propelled by a hand controlled motor. Who – The day is being run buy the Afghan Hound Club of NSW and all people and all breeds are welcome! What – The cost will be $4 for the first run $3 subsequent runs. as longas they are over 15" then they are with correct hight for standard poodles in Aust as we don't have height restrictions, so we have som very tall and very short standards in Australia.''' Stuartlea arent the only ones, there are a couple. I'll measure mine and give you a height comparison of our 2, bit later today.

To the standard Parti's are a misark, not realy a fault. Parti's, brindles, phantoms etc have been occuring in poodles nearly a long as solids, its just when a group of ppl sat around a table decided to make them a big No No.. Some partis can pop up anywhere, but normally if they do somewhere down the line on both parents was a parti, there are a couple linein Aust now that have parti lines behind them in Standards that I know of. Im one of a few that would like to see parti's allowed int he ring, cause, colour has no affect on confirmation, so why sould it be not allowed.

My family and I would like to than you all for your condolences, these have been the longest and sadest 24hrs I can ever rememeber, with such a glimore of hope this mornng of a sighting, raised our hearts and made us think he was still among us, only to have acouple hours later to have our world around us shattered bythe finding of his body in the river. I jut wished he pasted away in a warm bed or somewhere nicer then in the rain in cold water, could not think of a worser way fo such a gentle older person. Atleast he now is free from pain, free from suffering and can now rest peacefully and with forever be immortalisted i our memories
