  1. Colour genetics are beyond me, is there a useful link I could read explaining it in layman's terms?
  2. No it was a general question. I was wondering for real. I don't do veiled threads. It was something I was interested in knowing.
  3. OK thank for that, I don't know anything about colour genetics :)
  4. Just a genetics question Can two black and white (mostly black with minimal white) dogs produce brown and white puppies and have a whole litter that is mostly white? Just wondering what the likelihood of that happening is? Thanks
  5. Yeah we always have a spare lead and collar in the car. I've seen a very frantic dog get hit and killed because it was so confused and running. And I've caught quite a few. Just recently (a month or two back) I caught two kelpies running like idiots across the road almost going under a truck. I also found a kelpie running along the road near wagga and took it to the nearest property which was about a k up the road and luckily he belonged there. It just worries me and after seeing the dog get killed if I can I always pick them up and either find their home or contact the council.
  6. I ask. What do you think of Cesar Milan?
  7. Media takes stuff out of context, I'm not commenting on that line. Just very happy that he's safe.
  8. This is the life story of every spider that enters my sister's house
  9. Just one more cause she's so danged cute!
  10. She's here and everyone is acting like she never left. She slid straight back in and it's all normal. Here she is after a big run around with Maybe.
  11. She is. She's a BVSc and trained Animal Behavioural Science
  12. Yes I will, I only trust one person and her kids are sick right now so she's unavailable for a week or two, so that's why I asked here in the interim
  13. Some days it's all day and other days she doesn't do it at all
  14. I dare you lol  We had bees in our place but they decided to stick around, we had to get the Bee Man.
  15. Sounds like my JRT he's inhaled from day 1 and I knew him when he was ababy and he was very well cared for.
  16. Glad she was found, dogs are opportunists, I'd secure the gate with a lock or something. I'm very happy to hear she's safe
  17. Well currently i'm too sick to do anything and have DOL open all day, mine would be very embarrassing
  18. She's desexed and recently had a vet check with her vacc, she's completely normal apart from this
  19. The dog's get bones for their teeth, mum is big on it. We can easily remove the food from her and she leaves the food when we come near, it's just other animals. So we shouldn't be too worried?
  20. My mum has a young JRTX she's about 2 or so. She a very obedient dog, very loving and submissive to people. She's a very sweet dog but she's been developing this habit of resource guarding and it seems to be becoming compulsive. She guards everything, and just sits by it all day growling at any animal that walks past, but never people. She doesn't eat it if it's a treat just guards it. Mum has tried locking her up to give her the treat but she just complains, she's tried removing the treat when the guarding starts but she'll go and grab a rock or a stick and take it back to that place and guard it. She's tried redirection, removing her from that place, a loud noise to break her focus but nothing works. She has two main areas that she guards in but if we block them off she'll do it somewhere else. Does anyone have any ideas as it can't be good for her (she never actually attacks, it's just growling and barking, everyone pretty much ignores her). I'll contact my behaviourist friend but she's got sick kids at the moment so isn't available for advice. Thanks in advance
  21. It's just for the local show. I won last year with my photo of a cat. You don't actually win a prize. You can give me an honest answer but be nice I'm pretty sick at the moment and very sensitive lol
  22. Yeah she's really well bred by Chris Stapleton she was the product of a very well planned litter and he was tossing up whether to keep her or the little dog pup but I called and asked for a girl so he kept the dog, hoping we'll go a long way!
  23. This is her a few days before she left
