  1. Yep, I already have them on ignore. M-Sass is a troll who has been trolling DOL for a long time under many different user names. I can't believe the owners got away with just a $550 fine I haven't been rude at all.........because I have a different outlook on the situation how does that makes me a troll??. The thread originally began where the dog (a known killer) jumped the fence and attack poor little Sarge, the thread is not in Rainbow Bridge which I understand as a place of support, sympathy and "tact". The point is regardless if anyone chooses to deny the facts or not, a known killer has done this deed before on Sarge, he was lucky the first time and the second attack was not random the way it see it, they knew of the dog's capabilities and potential danger where obviously what ever was done to ensure Sarge's future safety wasn't effective given that the dog did the same thing it did previously taking Sarge's life this time in what must have been a terrifying ordeal for poor little Sarge??. So there's designated areas for sympathy? There's a word for you, but I won't say it or I'll get banned.
  2. I did it and Curly Coated Retriever and Akita were at the top.
  3. I love rotties, but at this stage sadly it's not going to happen.
  4. Thank you, but an Akita was just behind Amstaffs on my breed list which was just after rotties. It's OK, I'm fine with the decision and a few things have gone on that brought us to this decision. I'm ok with it, I was disappointed at first but it's all good now.
  5. Your dogs look awesome lol. There's a man that walks a big brindle greyhound around here, I always pat him and he and my dog like each other.
  6. I was in a situation recently where it was raining and I was under a shop awning waiting for it to stop with my maremma. A lady was standing about 2 to 3 meters away with a SpanielX of some kind. It was wagging its tail and trying to meet my boy who was doing the same. She looked worried to which I replied "It's ok, he's friendly" She snatched her dog away that had been happily wagging its tail and sniffing at a safe distance and said "I'm not taking that chance!" Her dog then started barking and snarling like a banshee...My boy looked at me so confusedly. I was like...OK. It was very strange. Congrats on having a friendly and responsible person get their dog.
  7. I cried like a baby during both! Shiloh never made me cry
  8. We walk down our street, then there is a path into the cul-de-sac from our road so we enter at the end of it, then walk out of it and into other streets. where we do a loop and end up back at our house. Oh that makes sense :)
  9. May I ask why you walk your dogs down a cul-de-sac? Unless there's a laneway or something, it seems a strange thing to do?
  10. I had an old foster dog (have no idea what breed but possibly some lab in there) it would react to everything, cars driving by, bikes, other dogs, kids running, ladies with prams, don't get me started on the day horse riders went past. As far as I'm concerned my dog's reaction was my responsibility and I can't blame others for simply living. Or do a radio announcement for the local radio say "at 5pm I want this, this and this street deserted for 1 hour" It doesn't work like that. People are people and I think we try to control them too much without looking at the part we play in the scenario.
  11. Hachi and Red Dog as well as White fang...this list is rigged.
  12. lol, that was my reaction. But there was a culmination of factors and I refuse to have family issues because of a dog breed.
  13. Haha "Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee." bahaha love that dog.
  14. Well even with all this, it looks as though I won't be getting a rotti as it wouldn't be fair (not going to go into it but definitely not happening wasn't so much negative rotti as a culmination of things). I've made a few calls and we will be visiting an Akita breeder in the coming months. Thanks guys :)
  15. exactly, and also who's to say she didn't have an invisible fence?
  16. But the fact is, it wasn't a pack of out of control rottis it was one little dog that was in control or it would have left the yard.
  17. The fact is we can only go by what we know, which is exactly what the council will do if she reports it. The dog didn't leave the yard and barked. By stopping with reactive dogs you exacerbated the issue but only for your dogs, who knows, this dog may be 12 years old and have been doing it its whole life and has never once left the yard. I find going up to a woman you don't know in her yard and telling her what to do with her dog on her property is very rude and I would have acted the same way.
  18. If anyone was considerate it was the lady catching her dog and putting it inside, not someone going up to her in her own yard and telling her to leash her dog on her own property when it never left the yard. This whole thing is ridiculous imho. If it had have rushed out it would be different, but it didn't and quickly forgot about your dogs. A ranger would completely ignore this complaint.
  19. It's turning into America in here. lol But seriously the dog DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!
  20. Sorry, I misread your post and thought you were referring to a group training situation, the dog obviously had issues, as I was not there I won't comment further as you seem to trust this trainer and for all I know the dog could be mentally ill and have not given a signal but that wouldn't be breed related.
  21. Wow, glitch int he matrix...didn't mean to post over here. nice dogs though
  22. It's not a matter of "why should I?" but more "why not?" I think you're mountaining those molehills. I don't see what your issue is, a dog barked at yours, stayed where it was then played with its owner. I don't get what you're wanting to report?
  23. So even if the small dog did come over you also have small dogs, I assume it wouldn't have been hard to pick them up and keep walking?
