  1. The best thing about pet plan is you get exactly what they say, no hidden fee's or big exclusions that are hidden away in small terms of conditions text. you get a limit per year depending on what you pay per month, you get a fixed excess and it covers the dog for life. In my honest opinion pet plan is hard to beat in terms of peace of mind insurance a good example would be a single surgery for a broken leg on a dog can range from $2000-6000, pet plan you pay $125 excess and that's it, other plans you pay between %15 and 20 of the bill ($300-$1200) to cover the surgury also ongoing conditions on most other policies are only covered for 1 year, where as petplan cover for life. if your on a budget then the budget plan might be a great way to start out and then if you want extra peace of mind when you are earning more move up to the standard plan
  2. Love it Cassie, the photo of your OH holding him is hilarious, he looks like he is asleep Thanks for the weight update, he is a big boy. :D
  3.  Lhok you have a real character on your hands, I'm so glad you have that joy in your life There have been many cases of where dogs (unseeing) can sense danger close by, sometimes its the quiet tones of an intruder with their voice (might be a tense or anger voice), sometimes its a small noise made by the intruders, a noise which to a dogs ears is like "this is wrong". and sometimes its just bizarre but we have to remember dogs auditory and smell receptive senses are in the region of 1000 stronger than humans.
  4. Hi Lisa, Koda's mum is MDR1 affected and father is carrier so best he could be is carrier but there is a 80% chance he is affected so for safety sake I have deemed him affected for vet purposes and make sure my vet knows every time I go in. I may have him DNA tested when he is older for interest sake but for now I'm playing it safe Nova is growing well Lisa, my boy is sitting at 13kg now at 21 weeks, a bit smaller than yours
  5. Ahh Hanky, let us know how the re-worming goes, the tablets will only kill off new lavie so he might have picked this one before you wormed him, maybe consult your vet about what tablets to give him from now to find a good balance of worming, heart worm and flee etc, my boy is on sentinel spectrum as he is MDR1 affected and its working great, don't over stress, as long as he is vibrant and happy. Love the photo lolipop, one serious happy dog.

  7. Ahhhh what an adorable bundle of fluff, he has such a lovely face certainly a nice thick coat
  8. Just keep working at it Lokh, don't be over disheartened by it, it will settle in with time, if your worried about the chocking maybe try a martingale collar
  9. the last one tlc is funny, its almost like a game of guess what end i'm facing lol.
  10. omg that black girl is just toooooo cute, look at that face, how can you say no at all to that face
  11. Beautiful photo Gertrude as usual, you always capture their spirit in every shot you take.
  12. we should start a pool on it :D I say he's 36.5-37kg's
  13. sometimes its just worth it :D one my miss's took when I was sick photo1 by jackclague, on Flickr
  14. Lokh, don't loose hope on him, I have to agree with huski, Its all in the "way" you train and every dog is different, no one way will suffice for every dog, might pay to contact another trainer in your area and see if they can help out side note about koda, he is 100% good, pretty sure everything passed through ok, I had to sacrifice a nice smelling house for a day as his farts were utterly outrageous, it was like living with a mobile dumpster
  15. Update: he is good, the yogurt and raw egg lunch helped, a bit messy but combined with a good run around really moved everything along.
  16. Gonna talk him to the off-lead park after work to let him run around and hopefully help with the whole digestion process :D
  17. popped home at lunch to check on Koda and he seems fine, no change in temperament or feelings, as energetic as usual and no loss of appetite with his lunch, I added some plain yoghurt to his lunch and some baked biscuits as this helps him "go" and should help loosen any possible bone issues. will keep a close eye for a day or two but I think we got lucky and the bones he did get hold of he chewed up enough not to cause any issues, the rest well was just cooked chicken so at least he got a good protein intake for the day.
  18. Thanks aliwake, Called my local and they have advised not to overstress, there is not much I can do right now, keep an eye on him make sure he isn't vomiting or looking unwell, he said he gets calls like this allot and 90% of the time it just passes through with no worry as long as the bones were chewed well.
  19. Ok guys a little worried so need some advise. my boy while I was having a shower managed to get hold of a box on our kitchen island and demolish half a cooked chook that was inside including the bones, I kept an eye on him before i left for work and he seemed perfectly fine, if i did not see the box on the floor I probably wouldn't have realized he even ate it. lesson to me to never keep food on the kitchen island even if in a big sealed box. my worry is the bones really, I know he chews and grinds his bones well as I've watched him work on the regular marrow bones he gets and he really grinds them down before swallowing. Anything I should keep an eye out for?
  20. ahh the joys :D good luck on making anything food related without his super senses kicking in
  21. Thanks Lisa will take him to the local and see what they have, I didn't know about the 4-6month rule, does that also include bones as well or are bones good for the teething period? I think is time for a toy clean out this weekend also, there are a few regulars that are getting on a bit
