7 Day Old Baby Bitten By Family Dog
Scottsmum replied to Scottsmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
This is the attitude (acceptance) I have problems with. Any dog can bite a newborn baby. The parents are responsible and should have kept their baby safe. Dogs (no matter how wonderful) should not be with newborn babies. Yup. This situation should have never happened. But I dont know the full story, maybe the dog broke through a barrier or some thing. -
They are. Still dont look like the accommodation I would personally pick for my dog. (I put photos up above)

I believe the "mutt mansions" are a brand new addition. Eg. The first was finished 15.june. 2015 (image taken from the farmer dave facebook page)

I an not personally sure. But I have been to that facility a number of times & dont recall seeing kennekekennels or runs. There certainly is at front of property but they belong to box hill lodge, i believe.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this. I did a 6 week course out yhere and always wondered what those crates were for. Hrm...

No he stinks. I started sniffing like mad last night after the friend left (thinking I was going crazy) and my daughters admitted he does stink but they thought that was normal. It is not. I swear it's not. Just checking. I tried Scottie on a supliment a few weeks ago which had a side effect of getting smelly & i reckon he started to pong before i got it in his trap. Hope it sorts out for you. Not much worse than a stinky dog.

Maybe a dumb question: do your girls think he smells? Its not just you thinking he stinks is it?

We once reported a neighbours dog for noise. Similar situation, od taken the week off work to stay home - it cried all week. We were too scared of the neighbours to even report them to council ( needed to leave a bame etc) but after 6 solid days I called the police assistance line (NSW). They offered to do a welfare check *if they could* and did! Dogs were let out of their tiny run & noise stopped instantly. Welfare of the dog is obviously most important but this might be an option if the noise gets too much.

We had a rotty x who went through a stage where he regularly cleared a 6 foot fence. Maybe he got the jumping genes from his mother ;)

Doesn't seem to bother the worms in my garden and compost bin...? I microwave potatos as an "I can't be stuffed cooking dinner" meal once or twice a week... I usually scrub the skin and then stab it all over so the potato doesn't explode (no kidding - don't try that with your own microwave - and don't microwave a whole egg either), roll some paper towel around the potato - zap 2 to 3 minutes each side depending on size. Softer veg take less long and if you zap 10 bits of asparagus for 2 minutes they will catch fire. Oops. But the easiest way with something big like quarter pumpkin is to zap for a couple of minutes and then test with a skewer then zap another couple of minutes... Tho I might actually chop it into smaller bits because it would cook more evenly faster. But you don't get that nice roasted flavour doing that. Dont know the science behind it, just know its a thing. + Earth worms are different to intestinal worms.

Scottsman does wee on the low stuff...

They're high in Omega 3's so wouldn't hurt to have them but you'd want to make sure you don't give to many in one sitting otherwise you might get soft poos. Pumpkin seeds can assist with worms. They do not replace wormers, but can help keep worms at bay

LOL. Stressy If it makes you feel better I A) am currently living with my retired parents: they have time to garden :) B) scottie is an old man. Ernie is a big "baby"

THIS! My god! This x 1000% I would want to know if my dog had been involved in an attack too. For many reasons.

They're good too! -
Well. He seems ok. Apprently hes oretty go I d when I'm not around & hes happily goung to his crate & spending time there by choice. He's also going to bed when asked & spending approx 10 hrs (8 or 9pm) thru to 6am in bed With no obvious problems.
-
I heard him trying to escape the yard... little shit. Locked him in his crate & I think he went ok. No big cries...
-
I'm feeling a little bit sad tonight. For a huge range of personal reasons my little man is spending his first night outside since I got him. This also means no morning snuggles for me. He is in a crate with a cover. And jacket on. With a bed, queen sized polar fleece blankie and a snuggle safe but my heart is still breaking. Here's hoping he stays tucked in! Poor puppet. Ps. No recent photos. They're too big to upload.

Kinda long story but... we had a dog who learnt how to jump from another dog. He'd jump the fence & come back round the front - dork. Only way to stop hom (Rotty/weim cross) was an extra foot of fence / barracades along the fence in question. As to why - who knows! Can you rig a web cam up? Make sure shes not being spooked.

Thanks. Our dog walker frequently walks Scott there.
