Anyone Have A Prong They No Longer Need
rugerfly posted a topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hey all fellow prong lovers. Fly lost her prong a while ago, for some reason this one just kept undoing itself and she lost it whilst off lead. I put ruger's on her as she needs it more than him, but need one for him now as he is getting a little silly again and its like trying to walk two bannanna heads. anyone got a spare they can sell me? Thought i'd try before i fork out for a newbie. -
Anyone used one or has one? How are they? http://www.nikon.com.au/productitem.php?pid=1188-8966d4695b

Perfect Recall Training Using Ecollar

My FridayUpdate: I had a fantastic ecollar day today. Both dogs are up to nearly their top distractions - Possums at night for bella and butterflies for Bruno. Tonight, as we were coming home bella spotted possums above us and started her beautifull highpitched screaming. I corrected her with the martingale and made her sit. I then pulled out my remote and let her out on her long lead practicing recall, sit and saad. She did them all! Bit of a delay, of course, as its her first time. But this is all 2 weeks into training and we are already working on her highest level of distraction. I repeated the exercise with bruno, but he does not have as many distractions as Bella so he was great from the first moment. On low distraction, both dogs are doing avoidance rather than escape. Once we have them both sorted we just have to do Proofing which is gradually removing the stimulations for the commands. I love my ecollar . OMG this is just so funny. I wanna turn my dogs high pitched squealing off too Im almost POSITIVE with her, a LIGHTNING BOLT wouldnt stop her with cats/rabbits/possums. Even if i threw a bbq chicken infront of her. -

I've read your post and find that you are a fairly good speller. Just wondering if you do know how to spell your dogs breed ;) Seriously though, sounds like your on the right track..... it will be really hard for you to follow her all over the house to check she isnt going to wee, and you will un do all your good doing training her if you let her roam too much. She will learn that she can just go anywhere if you cant monitor her. Just keep her where you can see her or in her crate Dont over do the training unless you really know whats what. Sit and drop are great, but you will learn it all at obedience. I guess if your not a freak like me it wont matter, but you may find it hard to break habits she gets into by sitting or dropping incorrectly . Puppy pre school is really only good for socialisation, unless its run by trained instructors. I dont think its ever too early for TOT Good luck!

Optimum is a supermarket brand i know, but large bags at a pet barn cheaper way to go, its a mid range premium food, and the dogs love it. if your willing to go all the way, buy Advance.

What Cavnrott said. Sounds like a UTI and they unfortunatly dont resolve themselves overnight. If its not treated it will be continually uncomfortable for your pup. She is six months old? How long ago was she desexed?
