She's a living doll. http://www.nswar.org.au/lucy.htm Oh Mita - The Miss Lucy Lulu is a one in a million girl. I love her to bits and will be sad to see her go. Yet in saying that I will be happy to see Lucy Lulu in a loving family - hope that makes sense. Yes I will probably cry as I wave goodbye to Lucy Lulu. xx LP xx

  6. I knew I saw the name 'Gaia' somwhere - it was in the supermarket and the brand name for baby products. I do wonder how many people think we like Gaia baby stuff lol xx LP xx
  7. I do like most names but am a tad fussy with the shelter kids names. Bruiser and Killer type names are a big NO. We had a dog named "Moët" and I could not believe how many people asked about "Mo-ette" I believe names are important as I feel they may reflect the dogs personality for prospective owners. Just my tuppence worth. Xx LP xx
  8. The 3 little bull terrier pups are a delight to have in our care. We have not finished fully assessing them, however one pup is showing signs that it is possibly deaf. xx LP xx

  12. The stealing of lost animals (esp dogs) by people calling themselves 'rescue' appears to be common. The reasoning used by such 'rescue people' is pounds will kill the animal. They have no thought for the owner looking for their beloved furry friend. These people see a dog on the street and assume the animal is not wanted. Microchips are no good in these situations to get the dogs back home. The animals are sold to new owners and often the microchip status remains listed as 'missing'. The seller knows about microchipping but pleads ignorance when asked about change of owner forms etc! I do ponder if these people continue to break the law because of their own stupidity or for $$$'s. I know of one habitual offender who takes mainly cats – stray or ‘free to good home’ from the ‘not to be named on dol’ advertising websites. Some local councils will help out and some don't seem to care. And I think this may be the link mentioned above http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/235875-ad-i-saw-isnt-this-illegal/ xx LP xx

  15. Google is my friend - I have a name, 2 phone numbers (which are not answering) and an address. Am happy to post but not sure if it is against the privacy laws.
  16. Finding an address for him seems next to impossible but I did notice that he's "sponsored" by the Box Hill vet. Not being familiar with NSW, this could be next to the pope's house for all I know :p This link states ".....my dog Psychology Center in Rouse Hill NSW"

  21. My link Two-year-old miniature schnauzer Burtie died on Christmas Day when a shard off the bone ruptured his stomach A supermarket has removed a “deadly” dog treat from sale after the serious injuries cause to pets were revealed by The Argus. Supermarket chain Tesco has issued a notice withdrawing Bob Martin ham bones from sale after The Argus raised concerns from the owners of dogs that had died or been seriously injured by the snacks. However manufacturer Bob Martin – a well respected pet product company – has refused to say whether it would be removing the bones from sale at other shops. Two-year-old miniature schnauzer Burtie died on Christmas Day when a shard off the bone ruptured his stomach. Two more dog owners then came forward to report their pets had also been injured by the product – sold in Tescos stores in Sussex. The supermarket has now removed the bones from the shelves of their stores while they investigate the injuries. Burtie was bought the bone from the Tesco branch in New Church Road, Hove, as a present by a friend of owner James Lancaster, of Worthing. Dog bone advice The friend received a letter from Tesco’s customer services team assuring him that the supermarket “would never knowingly sell a product that could cause such harm” and that the product was being withdrawn. Mr Lancaster and partner Anna Carey were heartbroken when Burtie died on Christmas Day. Vet Marc Abraham, of Grove Lodge Vets in Worthing, urged dog owners not to feed their dogs bones because of the risk of injury. David Morris, from Upper Beeding, said his miniature schnauzer Tia also nearly died after eating one of the treats bought at the Shoreham branch of the supermarket and called for Tesco to remove them from sale. Investigation A spokeswoman for Tesco said: “We were very sorry to hear about the incidents involving this product and we are in touch with the customers affected. "We’ve taken this item off our shelves while an urgent review is carried out with our supplier.” A spokeswoman for Bob Martin said: “We take product quality and suitability very seriously and are continuing to investigate the incident with Burtie’s owners and Tesco
  22. My link ANIMAL welfare groups have blasted a CBD pet shop for placing a nursing cat and her kittens on display in a front glass case. Pets Paradise in Melbourne Central placed the animals in the front window around Christmas time, when thousands of holiday shoppers would have passed by. Melbourne Animal Rescue has lodged complaints with the shop and centre management and is using social media to urge its supporters to do the same. The rescue group said placing the animals on public display would be stressful for the mother and put the kittens in ''grave danger''. Advertisement The three kittens were aged between six and seven weeks at the time. Under the Department of Primary Industry's code of practice for the operation of pet shops, it states ''all animals offered for sale must be weaned and fully self-sufficient''. The minimum age for cats is eight weeks. According to the Domestic Animal Act, a business caught breaching the code can face a fine of up to $85,504. Debra Tranter, president of anti-puppy-farming group Oscar's Law, said it was ''completely wrong'' to put a nursing mother under the public's glare while she bonded with and nourished her newborns. ''I've never seen this before. A mother needs privacy; they actually crave privacy, which is why they often give birth in secluded areas,'' she said. Shop manager Sammi Gao defended her decision, saying a friend of a friend asked her to have the cat and her kittens adopted because they were moving overseas. She said she could not care for them in her apartment and she didn't want to separate the animals. ''I took them in and I looked after them,'' she said. Ms Gao said she and her staff had received several complaints, some of which had upset her staff. ''I know what I'm doing because I love animals; I'm not using the animals to make dirty money,'' she said. The mother cat has recently been adopted and one kitten has been sold. The kittens are now nine weeks old. ''The RSPCA believes displaying a nursing mother and her kittens in a public window is highly inappropriate,'' said Allie Jalbert, the RSPCA's Victoria manager of animal shelters.
