Ok guys how about 7 litters all due within a few weeks. Now before you all think I am a lousy byb or a farmer these bitches are from a very recent puppy farm evacuation, and I operate a rescue. We have a fantastic setup and the facilities to cope, and I am able to devote all my time to these mums and pups. Lots of work, you bet and for the next 8 weeks of so I am going to be very busy. Of course with unknown matings, no history etc we may also encounter problems and perhaps a c-section or two. Litter number one (foxy x chihuahua) had 4 pups and all appear healthy; Litter number 2 (malt x poodle) no puppies survived; The other litters are still to be born with subsequent litters due in the next few days. I trust my post has not offended anyone, and I am happy to remove it if I have. The breeders on this forum have been of much help to me in the past, and I hope I may be able to add some more information to help those with more than one litter arriving within a small time frame. edited for clarity

I do think GRNSW is attempting to enhance the welfare of racing greys by tracking their lifecycle, however was any consultation made with owners/trainers? Would ticking the box "Surrendered to another agency" include surrender to a pound? Is post 1st of March going to be a nightmare for the greyhound trainers and clarity is needed on numerous points? Eg: There appears to be no provision for the greyhound trainer/owner should one of their dogs die from natural causes or an accident? Is an autopsy required? How does the owner/trainer report a deceased grey that has not been euth'd? ..... and before anyone asks - no, I am not a greyhound owner/trainer! It would be great to hear from GAP or other greyhound rescuers their thoughts on the impact re grey rescue pre and post 1st march.

Daisy - the new legislation starts on the 1st of March and does allow for greyhounds to be surrendered as pets. Re your question about euthanasia, the new forms ask for the following: "What was the main reason the greyhound was euthanased? Due to Injury Illness / Age It was not Suitable for Re-homing or GAP Lack of Ability Certificate of Euthanasia from a Registered Veterinary Surgeon or signature and stamp required on form" edited for clarity

We renamed this duo to Shadow and Beth! Shadow has impaired vision in one eye (blind in the other one) and can hear some sounds. Shadow's buddy is Dee Dee, the goat! Beth has puppy manners and can be rather naughty. She loves digging rabbit holes and is being trained to dig in a clam shell. She has an unhealthy interest in reptiles but will not chase a rabbit - and we have plenty of rabbits here :-) She loves people and playing with the other dogs. Both are nice pooches and a lovely couple living on property have shown some interest re adoption.

Caz - your furkids are beautiful - is Diva the bub we had here? If so boy she looks so different - well done!

There is also a lovely book with great photos to compliment the TV series. I was at Dogtown last year, mainly in the clinic and saw the most amazing things. Best Friends is one of my fav places in the US and I will be visiting again in a few weeks time.

I went for a walk the other day, to clear my head, when along the way. I came upon a sight to sorry to see, a beaten pit bull looking up at me. She had been fought, and lost my guess, Thrown away like all the rest. In her eyes, I saw a love so deep, a deep hardened anger into my soul did creep. I put the anger aside, and bent down to hold, this beautiful creature, so lonely and cold. I knew she was dying, she knew it too, and she would die in my arms, me saying I love you. We sat for awhile, looking into each other's eyes, and no one could hear our sad, sad cries. With her last little strength, she licked my face, and then went away with a beautiful grace. I walked away a different soul, Anger and hatred would take their toll. I was so lost in anger and grief, my life was being stolen, by an invisible thief. I looked for a purpose, and soon I did see, I had to fight, for a pit bulls right to be. Pit bulls are loyal, loving, honest, and true, and sweet pit bulls, I'll always be fighting for you .
