  1. Agree with the others re getting another dog - or alternatively, I've taken my dogs to work with me and walked them through the day and it's worked a treat - keeps the brains stimulated and they are tired by the end of the day - a walk before work, morning tea (5 minutes), lunch (20 minutes) etc and they thrive - if you can see your way to keeping your dog close for a while...
  2. Tango normally has a day yard (6' deer fencing) off the back of the house which is 550sq m but because the house is on the market, he's got a 12 x 12' pen down the back of the block as we only have 1.5m fences and rabbits and kangaroos...he's only in the pen during part of weekends because the weather's warm, but during the week and the rest of the time he's with me wherever I am...when the next house is built he'll have another day run but not as big as 550sqm because he probably won't spend too much time in it.....if I used to go out in the mornings to mates for breakfast or in the evening I'd crate him, but the crate's not up because of the house on the market (sigh - can anyone hear that I'm sick of having the house on the market? <g>)
  3. Yikes!! I'm way behind...camera has had to stay home because for the last week I've been driving either mate's car to the mechanics to be fixed, catching the train to work and coming home with mate in my car after catching train all the way across Melbourne or driving the mechanic's van a 200km round trip (manual and has done 445000kms) - so camera has stayed at home, so I've only a few from the last 10 days and most are on Facebook......will catch up , I promise...
  4. I'd be interested in how to reduce prey drive...Tango and mate's cat are going to be living together and Tango's prey drive is ENORMOUS!!!! I think he's going to spend a lot of time in a crate somehow, so any hints would be appreciated.......
  5. February 17th - finally a shot of Tango...love this - it's exactly the dog I see and the look is that intense! (iPhone)
  6. Done for tango - very easy survey and interesting to look at the results and see how readable he really is (to me anyway) lots of luck - it's a very interesting topic...I'd be happy to do it for my 3 Dobes from the 80's and 90's as well if you don't mind deceased dogs......but it would be very easy
  7. I used to have 3 Dobes...but 1 Tango is quite enough for me and that's on 1.25 acres
  8. don't have one from February 14 so I'll share 2 from different ends of February 15 Sunrise Sunset
  9. 12th February...Bendigo, Lake Weroona -handsome goose in 'keep off' stance 13th February......very relaxed Tango waking from an afternoon nap......
  10. looks like rain! I love rain!! We've only had 317mm in the first 6 weeks and I'm ready for more - but please make it fall at home where it doesn't cause a problem......(but not wanting anyone to be incapacitated any more than they already are)
  11. 2nd week February... looks like rain! rain & more rain!!
  12. Love the pug shaped vacuum... 10th February.....not very imaginative......mowing in the dark at 10pm (I have very understanding neighbours......it's going to rain and we have an open for inspection on Saturday and I can't mow any other time than tonight)....
  13. Tango comes to work every day and either lounges around in the back of the car (Ford wagon with rear screen) with a steady stream of people in the suburb greeting him as they go past and being fed everyone's toast and yogurt and supervising the couriers, or he's in dispatch with Craig - in warm weather in front of the air con...... atm I can't let him wander the building too freely because there are 3 neighbourhood cats that are also in residence..... He gets at least 4 car rides and 4kms of walks a day and we are both fitter than ever before!!! I still get run over every morning in the rush to get in the car...I think he's a lot happier with me than at home during the day...
  14. 9th February...a fish out of water - Richmond, Melbourne
  15. I set the 550D on Sports (one of the auto settings) and let fly - so long as you manage to keep the object somewhere close to the centre you usually manage to get a shot - then sharpen as required in Photoshop....this was taken at 200mm aimed out the car window over my shoulder while I was still moving - I got 5 shots fired off quick smart and was delighted with this - I use the sports setting when stormchasing when we are driving and for Tango and birds and horse - it's sooooo easy and works really well!
