  1. Not sure if you are just questioning the Leo owners - or all of the breeds in general about the low entry numbers. Obviously I can't speak for anyone else - but points or no points I wouldn't enter another show at Caulfield in a pink fit !! Can't stand the venue - simple as that. More than happy to go along & man a breed stand for the day - have done so on a few occasions now - but not enough interest in the past 2 years to do so - way too hard with only 2 or 3 willing volunteers. Cheers.

  6. You make it sound so simple to just move the show to the next day - What about the Judges, Committee & show staff ?? They have lives outside of showing & most would not be available to just turn up the next day.

  9. For any Melbourne / Victoria based Leo owners there is a new social group called (appropriately ) Melbourne Leos! This is NOT a breed club - just a social group of Leo owners in this region who wish to form friendships with Leo owners near to them & meet up at least 4 plus times a year for Leo fundays If you are interested in joining in with this social group please go to the Yahoo homepage. http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/MelbourneLeonbergers/ We have our first Leo funday organised in February at Kepala Canine Country Club Cheers
  10. Tomorrows weather - Drizzle clearing. The only weather policy is for heat not 18-24 deg and drizzle clearing. Benalla had a heap of rain and no cancellation. I think its a bit soft cancelling dog show.. The decision was made by the Agricultural society to cancel the Agricultural show - which means the dog show was cancelled along with it. Very easy for people on here to criticise the decision based on some photos of the area the dogs would have been placed on. What about the rest of the grounds and more importantly the car park ??? It seems that show committees are damned if they do & damned if they don't. They are welcome to my entry fee to help cover their costs.
  11. The car park at KCC Park & Wedge Road entrance are under water also - if it is like that tomorrow it would cause huge problems. BTW - The entire Lang Lang Agricultural show has been cancelled - not just the dog section.
  12. Please let others know that Lang Lang Show is Cancelled as the grounds are under water.

  14. Couldn't agree more !! The expertise at Monash (in particular - Dr Stuart Mason) saw the first ever successful frozen semen AI for my breed in Australia - despite many previous attempts by other breeders using several different vets. Dr Mark Foley is another incredible asset to the Monash team with his surgical skills & post op aftercare - he performed tibial wedge surgery on one of my girls in April this year and did an amazing job. I can't speak highly enough of the team at Monash for their care & professionalism & I get sick of people bagging them about what they charge for their services. It's worth every cent as far as I'm concerned.
  15. Check out this place - (I know it's not in Australia - pity !!!) http://www.lhermitagevancouver.com/default...amp;rp=extended Now that's what I call dog friendly !!!! ;)
  16. Horrific I despair of humanity when I see such barbaric acts of evil.

  21. WTF ???? 2 Leonberger breeders listed that I've never heard of !!! The first one is clearly a mistake as they actually list the different breed they own. This is a joke isn't it ????
  22. WOO HOO Many congratulations to Tania Kirkland & Vivienne James - Their stunning Pyrenean Mountain Dog - Grand Champion Barreges Theoden was awarded Dog Challenge & BOB at the Melbourne Royal today. :D The congratulations continue as Grand Champion Despreaux Celeste Bijou co-owned by Tania with Faye Cartledge was awarded Bitch Challenge. And Vivienne's beautiful puppy bitch Annaru Annick Dadiva was awarded Puppy of Breed. I am delighted for them all.

  24. Dr Stuart Mason at Monash Vets (Vic) did a transcervical AI using imported frozen semen on my maiden bitch last year and she produced 10 pups. We tried a surgical implant the season prior with no luck (different semen also) Good luck with your plans
