  1. The DV Office Staff would 100% support this petition - it's very difficult to enter the highway most nights - especially for those heading back up towards Hall Rd. Cheers
  2. [ How long did it take to get your permit?? I only lodged mine today but still hopeful I can get him here before 21 December. Hi DLB, It took nearly 4 weeks to get my permit issued. If you are sending your dog to Eastern Creek you will be fine as they have vacancies now & right up to 21st December. My problem was trying to secure a place at Spotswood as they are nearly booked right through to the last day. Good luck with your new arrival.
  3. Thanks so much everyone for your replies & advice - much appreciated. Fortunately for me Eastern Creek is no longer an issue. My import permit arrived this morning - YAY - & due to a cancellation at Spotswood they have been able to book my puppy in there at the beginning of December. I am sooooooooooooooo relieved. Thanks once again. Cheers
  4. Hi - I'm desperately trying to secure an import permit to bring a pup in from the UK before the new Category 4 EU rules take effect on 1st January 2012. If she doesn't land in Australia in 2011 she has to have the rabies vaccination & tests which means I can't bring her out until much older & the breeder is worried about running her on for me & the extra risks associated with sending an older dog. I want my puppy to go to Spotswood but they are already booked up to the 5th December & close their books on 21st December (last day for airport collections). I can't book a place without the granted import permit & I am still waiting for it. Apparently there is a massive back log at AQIS because of the new EU requirements. Spotswood have advised me to change my import permit application & select Eastern Creek instead as they can take bookings in a couple of weeks. I would really appreciate any advice / comments / warnings ??? about Eastern Creek before I do anything. I'm in Melb so can't go out there myself. You are welcome to PM if you prefer rather than commenting publicly. Thanks!

  6. Not sure what you mean by qualified, however the only accredited readers under the ANKC/AVA Canine Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Scheme are as listed on this page: Canine Health Info Sylvia The link has changed - try this one http://www.dogsvictoria.org.au/PuppiesDogs/Caring/CanineHealth.aspx Cheers
  7. This was my first trip out to Romsey & I'd like to send a big to the organisers of the show. Despite an extra, extra long trip out there after being forced off the Monash Fwy (thanks Citylink ) and then coping with the constantly changing weather conditions it was still a great day. Not forgetting the extra long trip home due to roadworks on Tullamarine Fwy - My partner and I still had a great day & will definitely enter the show again next year. The rings were well set out, plenty of space to set up, could park right next to the oval so didn't have to lug all of the gear for miles, show sec office easy to find and best of all - plenty of toilet paper in the loos !!! Thank you Romsey Kennel Club! Cheers
  8. Gees that's disappointing EF I hear so many Vic people complain that the neuter class isn't offered more & here is a perfect opportunity to enter the class & you end up with such a poor entry. What a shame for the Club.
  9. Are the grounds easy to find? I haven't been to Romsey before. Thanks
  10. Way To Go Bear !!!!! Many congrats Julie & Michael !!! Give yourselves a huge pat on the back also. You both do an amazing job presenting Bear in the best possible way & he is a fantastic ambassador for the breed. Here's to many more BIG wins - you absolutely deserve it Cheers - Lyndsay & the Leos
  11. Hi - would you have any idea of the approx number of Dobes entered in the Royal ?? A few people have asked me if the Leos are on before or after lunch - if I have an idea of the Dobe entry I can probably say AM or PM judging. Thanks Cheers
  12. Hi Craig - the schedule on your website differs to one in the August gazette. The Groups 4, 5 & 6 Judges are out of order. Most people won't be concerned but it could confuse some. Cheers
  13. I'm happy to send you the results for the Leonbergers. Can also send through results for Russian Black Terriers if no-one else volunteers. They are on before the Leos. Cheers

  19. The Discovery Park at Carrum Downs have specific 'dog friendly' cabins so that your dog/s can sleep inside if that's what you prefer. I am told they are very popular as there is a limited number so you would have to book early. Cheers
  20. Hi - Anyone interested in the Leonberger breed should make a trip out to KCC Park this Sunday (31st July 2011) as there are 17 Leos entered in the Utility Dog Club of Victoria Rare Breeds & Champ Shows. There will also be other Leos present around lunchtime to celebrate the 12th birthdays of 2 veteran Leos. It's a great chance to see a large number of this rare & beautiful breed in the one place. Cheers
  21. A friend bought 4 tickets for us - she logged on at 3pm when the pre sale started and was allocated some great seats (well according to the map they look like great seats) :D Really looking forward to seeing him live. I know he's not everyones cup of tea but I find him very entertaining.
  22. From the DOGS Vic website Change of Judge - Dandenong Poultry & Kennel Due to the tragic death of Ms L Darling (NSW) group three will be judged by Mr E Boxhall at this event. I didn't know Ms Darling but I send my sincere condolences to her family, friends & loved ones.
  23. Would gladly take my own photos if I could actually attend the Royal. Not everyone can get time off work and financially afford to head to interstate Royals !! That's why it would be great if the photos could be posted whilst the show was on so that those who can't attend can join in. It's always been great to see the BOB pics so that I can see what the In Group & In Show line up is going to look like. Of course I don't expect the photographer to load the pics every day - but waiting until the entire show is over is not good enough in my opinon. Pedini have no problems doing so at the Melb Royal & the Adelaide Royal photos are usually posted a couple of days after the breed judging.
  24. Ffiona Erskine, Ffire Photography is the Sydney Royal Photographer this year. Website: www.ffirephotography.com. Ffiona is also on Facebook. Just read this notice on the "official photographers" website - I hope that next years "official photographer" will be willing & able to post the BOB pics whilst the show is actually on. Very disappointing Sydney Royal Easter Show 2011 Dog Section ... We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet and photograph some of the best dogs in the country. One of the most exciting opportunites of my life. A Foot note ! Images from the Sydney Royal Easter show will be available to be viewed AFTER the show is over and will not be seen on any social media such as facebook. Thank you for your patience and understanding, I will keep everyone posted .
