  1. I'm not being rude to you, just curious but wasn't that stated clearly on the flyer? If not you should mention it to K9
  2. That doesn't make any sense feralpup? Why did you take your dog to the seminar if you knew it wasn't a practical workshop?
  3. I've spoken with the guys from the NDTF and they're happy for students to participate at the Rotty club ;)
  4. Hi Mel, ADT do use correction chains as the majority of all the devices used to train dogs, that's true. We also allow our members to use whatever training tool they wish to use, providing they can effectively use it. The same pribciple applies if they cannot use a correction chain correctly, the ADT instructors will show them alternate options and spend time with the member to ensure that they are getting the best and most practical usage from their training tool. One principle ADT prides itself on is that we don't jump on the trend bandwagon and try and market ourselves with the old motto of, "tell the people what they want to hear". Instead we use a proven method of, "teach them what they need to know". Our style won't satisfy 100% of the people 100% of the time but neither will anyone else's. I believe that our trainers and members are happy to, 'use what works' which is exactly what all NDTF students are taught. The NDTF recognise that students who do the course are intelligent people that will decide their style to train with if they decide to open a school in the future. If NDTF students come to ADT, they are advised that what they are seeing is the, 'ADT way', just like if they visit another school, whatever method they use is, 'their way'. One of the things that I do admire of the NDTF principles is that their members can choose from a vast scope of methods in training and still maintain NDTF accreditation.
  5. Except NDTF does not have "preferred training methods". They teach all: explain, demonstrate and practice in the principals of each and it is up to the graduate to chose which method they wish to adopt/practice in (such as the person you know and refer to). I guess that would be a strict difference with Delta - it does express preferences and therefore uses only those preferred methods. It's only a difference in the courses, so not a problem .... unless a graduate comes across a dog for which the unpracticed methods would be more suited. Nicely said Erny. I'm following this thread with interest
  6. I don't think Delta are pig headed I do find a majority of their upper management to behave in an elitist manner which filters down to their graduates. Not that this is always the case as several NDTF students have done the Delta course before and unless they told me I would never have known.
  7. These people are pure charlotans! The USA is swarming with people who get rich by deceptive measures simply by using fancy words and using the words, 'secrets' in their phrases. People feel so compelled to find out what it's all about that they will spend the money only to find that a trainer 30 minutes away from them in Australia could give them 10 times more. Of course this is not limited to the USA as Australia has many shonky BS artists doing the same here. Just remember guys, a million dollar vocabulary does not make a great dog trainer, or for that matter, even a good one.
  8. obviously he's a member of this list and he's getting your email address from your card. If he's so confident of his abilities, ask him to unlock the secrets for you as a test case for free and that you will promote his techniques if you get results. quid pro quo
  9. Another guy called Adam Katz was flogging his "secret training method" which many gullible people purchased. Let me just say this guys, there are many fantastic trainers right here in Australia that can give you world class results. Don't waste your hard earned money buying up crap from other countries, get off your bum and go and train with someone who can show you results on the spot and so YOU can take that away with you.
  10. Hi Annie, They run the course 3 times a year and they have almost got the distance learning package up and running with a few setbacks but it's coming
  11. That's a good point Erny but most people aren't as enthusiatic or as fit as you
  12. *BUMP* Come on guys don't let winter scare you off! Everyone wants to jump on the summer courses, then they fill up and people cry because they missed out again
  13. Oh brother! Why don't you start singing, "I am women, hear me roar"
  14. I think we should just agree with the fact that we share different view points here and that no one is right or wrong, just different. My point is not to wear you down to my way of thinking nor should you be doing that to me. We each have a view on this and in a very drawn out discussion we have each stated how we feel about this. By the way, my henchmen at my secret ADT lair have almost completed our mind control device and we plan to take over the world any day now unless you pay me.......... 1 BILLION DOLLARS
  15. Nat, I didn't know the door of intrigue swings one way? Of course i'm curious to your motives for asking this question, why wouldn't I be? I was wondering if you think we have an unfair advantage over the other clubs or were you thinking that we do this to line our pockets but I believe we have both answered this. What about people who own a training business compared to people who work in one? Should they be compelled to open with, "Hi, I own xxxxxxxx so here's why I think you should train with me?" As we have all stated, we were all clients who loved the system, wanted to teach it and actively promote it. Most new DOL members will pm people they have an interest with and ask what their involement is, (which has been my experience many times) and they will get all the information they need plus some. Im uncertain why you are surprised at the response? If you harmlessly prodded a Bees nest with a stick, would you be shocked if they defended themselves? As previously stated, if it makes you feel more secure, I can encourage all the ADT guys to put something in their signature so new posters will get the idea.
  16. Just for the record Alison, every single, "non profit" club that I have belonged to relies on new memebers and will actively promote their club through their current members so they can pay their fee's, improve their services etc. Tess, I have never seen any of the trainers on her hide or deny that they are trainers from ADT and I have seen many posts from Erny and Haven where they have openly discussed it. Why does it bother you so much? Would it make you feel better if they had something about it in ther signature?
  17. I don't entirely agree with what you are saying Tess. What is the difference with someone who works for ADT and someone who is an extreme member of a dog club? Should they state that they are on committee, that they belong in the demo team, have been a member for more than 5 years? I don't think so. So why should ADT people single themselves out for sharing that passion? The guys in here promote ADT because most of them were customers that found a system that worked for them and have seen it work for hundreds of others, (in my case thousands) and are proud to recommend it to others here on DOL. I have seen people on here recommend others to train at clubs where I personally think they are not even safe to be classed as trainers but I don't brand them or get agitated about it. For the record, if anyone didn't allready know, I work for ADT and i'm the training director.
  18. Pavlov conditioned his dog to drool at the tone of a bell so maybe somehow you have conditioned your dog to drool for a squeeky toy. Either that or the squeek has envoked a predatory drive and your dog thinks that the item is edible. Would need to see it to make a diagnosis
  19. Hi all, Don't forget, any Rotties or Rotty hybrids are welcome to join. class starts at 730 pm sharp at KCC park. Your membership helps the club fight the good fight for the future of the Rottweiler in Australia
  20. So the mystery question still remains! Who is the club?
  21. Gamin is from Joy Belles, (Rotvel) so if you got one from Joy there is a good chance they are related
  22. Hey guys, glad to hear that you're enjoying RCV training. It's my time to give back to the community after working as a professinal for 15 years Oonga - Good work with your little pup! You're doing a great job with her and we have only started to scratch the surface. Scope - Always great to see someone who is willing to do whatever it takes. Most people would have given up by now so i'm proud of you that you have chosen to persevere and take the necessary precautions. Good on you! Anyone else with Rotties or Rotty hybrids are welcome to join and come on down. HR
  23. I have a fantastic treat bag that I got from Erny. you should have a chat with her as they are fantastic and I would highly recommend them
