  1. LP vid is great! He is doing so well, and Kinta was great at the pet expo demo too! My brag for the year so far is that after over 2 years of learning and trying and being confused I've gotten Ed's confidence up to a level where he will play with a toy in class!!!! I am thrilled. He loves balls and has real drive but its been so surpressed and I've finally gotten him to a stage where he will use it. We still have a way to go but I am very pleased with his progress My Molly brag is that she has started competing flyball, and though we have our ups and downs I am very proud, and she is doing really well!
  2. Saw this thread and it promted me to type this post http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=127753&hl= I've been using the Kong Wubbas for training, my 2 love them I use the thick material ones for obedience and when they go swimming I've got the water wubba for when they are in a dam, river etc http://www.dogtoys.com/kongwubba.html I have the large ones and just bought 2 small ones today to use in class as the large one is hard to fit in a pocket. My staffords love them and using them at training they havent even managed to wreck them! I'm sure if I left them to chew on them unsupervised they could wreck them but as a trainign toy they are great. The water ones arent as tough, and I've gone through a few using them at training til I switched to the other one, but they are great in the water (gee wonder why they call them water wubba :D) What do other people use?
  3. Thats awesome! Congratulations!!!! ETA Just watched the vid, she looks great!
  4. We'll be there, going up on the Thurs Am really looking forward to it! We'll have to figure out a way to recognise each other though alot of the dogs dogs shouldnt be too hard to miss!
  5. If I had the time to I would have waited longer before we got him done, but the benefits outweighed the risks at the time
  6. When asked the VCA said that there was no specific ruling on the implant and that if it wasnt permanent and the dog has 2 testicles then it is allowed
  7. Update from us Ed was 12 months when he got his 1st implant done, he has matured slowly which was in his lines anyway and no big surprise, but has matured completely as we expected he would After Ed's first implant had worn off he made these More recent pic of Ed and Inca, one his daughters, who even if you didnt know she was DNA profiled to show who her parents were, you pretty much know who her daddy is!! lol, I had to put that pic in as she is just too cute! Just before the litter were born I had him implanted again as I was uncomfortable having an entire male, having had desexed pets my whole life. I am now decididng whether or not to leave him be as the 2nd time the implant was done his behavior change was not as dramatic, or if I will get the op done permanently. Hope that helps somewhat, pm me if you like
  8. Hey I didnt laugh, I thought it was such a good idea that I use them too now!
  9. Mine are so food obsessed I could feed them a meal 5 min before we train and they would still work for dry kibble lol I normally use any left over meat we have, like left over xmas turkey, mmmm yum! Or often skinless frankfurts. I cut it up and put it in little snack sized ziplock bags in the freezer and just take one out when I need it
  10. Thanks! Funniest part was when OH said to me on the way home that he was surprised that I screamed for her in there like I do at training, he thought I would get nervous and go quiet! Oh and on alot of the vids that OH took Ed was screaming himself cos he wanted to go in too! He would watch the others run but when molly ran he would scream!
  11. Thank you! I was so nervous, and I looked out at one stage and Kirsten said to me "bel, breathe!!!" It was great though, I really enjoyed it 2 tollers, see you Sunday Moops, the last dog on our team is Possum Corner's Frodo, he had his comeback and did really well
  12. Just wanted to show you guys Mollys flyball debut at the pet expo flyball demo, cos I'm very proud of my bimbo Dog #2 in the red harness in the far lane First proper comp is next week
  13. I should say that I only use the treat bag half the time, the other half I use pockets of my clothes. And some of the time I use the treat bag and dont give treat (mainly to carry my keys and phone!), and use a toy instead, so they never know
  14. Black dog are great if you have a problem with their products I emailed them to tell them that the lining on my treat bag inner had started p[eeling off and they rang me and asked a few questions about what it was doing and sent me a new one. They were really nice
  15. Yeah looks like heaps of fun Ed would be a star at it, he loves jumping into water like that!
  16. Do they do this is Aus? Or more specifically Melbourne? this looks awesome!
  17. Staffords love to jump! Mine love flyball and they love the jumps I would love to turn our backyard into a agilty/jump/flyball fantasy world for them lol
  18. We are only fairly new to flyball but Molly had trouble with the box so I started throwing food, and once she got better at that I would throw just to the side of her head so she had to chase the treat, then i started using the really small tennis balls you can get at $2 shops, and then gradually normal size ones
  19. The website is under construction, but I found this site, it has one of their newsletters and if you go through it gives you most of the info you need http://www.berwickodc.asn.au/Newsletter%20...02006/index.htm
  20. When Ed was little he had similar, and it ended up being that his sesamoids (cartlidge) in his front paw were fractured, and we needed to crate him for a few weeks so it could heal Here are some of the original threads from it http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...c=52979&hl= http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...c=55508&hl= We tried to fix it with rest at the start but werent really sure what we were dealing with, and eventually did xrays and after that knew exactly how to treat it, and he has been fine for the last 18 months or so, no issues Hope this helps. even if its just to eliminate a possibility,
