  1. Devon has alot of salt in it too I think, and lots of fat, they would end up very fat thirsty dogs!
  2. No everything else is good, he eats well, walks normally, has had a full vet check - hearing sight everything, they can't find anything When he is being nice he is the most gorgeous little guy, and such a sweetie, but when he is nasty he is horrible
  3. If it involves something my dogs will love I will gladly wear that label
  4. hehehehehe I think I might try the tuffie toys at some stage The flavoured nylabones go ok, but they arent a fav, bags full of op shop toys are fun, but a pain in the butt to clean up! (and OH gets cranky cos I let them do it and he has to clean up!)
  5. Oh man, Ed and Molly would LOVE that! Alanglen, we'd be up for it for sure Please excuse my girly throw and my OH being a dork! And Ed when he was only 4 or 5 months old, he still loves it as much if nt more! (have posted these vids before, but they show my belly wackers in action! lol)
  6. In this case the bitch rejected him as she was unaware that he was hers. She didn't go into labor and in her mind she went to sleep and woke up hurting and with a small thing in with her The second bitch I think didn't so much reject him as she didn't have enough milk left to feed him etc, I think she had a recent litter but it would have taken time to get her milk back (sorry I should have written that before to make more sense) But it is something else to think about too Thanks for everyones thoughts, I will pass it all on
  7. Thank you for the replies, I will be printing it off so she can read it all Good to see that there is some hope for the little guy and that he isn't abnormal, considering the circumstances
  8. I have also posted this in breeders but thought that some of the trainers might be able to shed some light on this behaviour Have a question on behalf of a friend, who is a reg breeder, with lots of experience She has a singleton pup who is now 6 weeks old, and he is pretty nasty. She is really confused as to what to do with him, as she has never had a pup like this, and she also has no computer access so asked me to post up here for her His background is that he was a single pup born by ceasar to a bitch who never went into labor, and rejected him, (she also picked him up at 1 hr old and bit him) He was taken to another bitch who had recently had a litter but not accepted by her either, so he came back to the breeder to be hand reared. She then found out she had to go into hospital for a fairly major op, and so he went to the bitches owner for 8 days and hand rearing continued there. He has been back at breeders since. He lives with 3 other dogs, 2 adults and a now 16 week old pup. He is very fiery especially if picked up, will growl and carry on, for eg he will run up for attention, get picked up, growl, get put down for growling and then he will growl because hes been put on the floor. And I don't mean puppy growls I mean he is seriously cracking it. Whilst he has been spoilt somewhat being an only pup, he also has very definite ground rules, he just pushes and pushes even from about 4 -5 weeks old Though the breeder knows that his upbringing was far from ideal there wasn't much that could be done at the time (needless to say things would be a lot different if it were to ever happen again, I guess we learn alot from bad things happening) The biggest worry is that it seems to be more people related than dog related and she is taking this very seriously, and is having trouble with deciding what she can do, and if she could ever home him He can be a really nice pup at times, but he can also have horrible moments, and she really doesn't know what to do with him. I have done a search on other singletons on here and am getting all the info I can, and she is also speaking to all her friends and acquaintances as well, as she is really worried by it all. Both his dam and sire have great temperaments Has anyone else had or heard of pups being like this and what would you do? Sorry if I've left stuff out, trying to remember it all!
  9. I'm pretty sure it was an NQ not a DQ, as she finished everything else, did her stays
  10. I'm moving house to be closer to training does that count?
  11. Just have to add i edited my post but it took me so long its a page back!
  12. Yep my dogs have the title DSW after their names now! ETA I do obedience and have just started flyball I tried agility, and may want to do something with it at some later stage, not really sure, and also did freestyle, but more so to learn tricks than to actually do it as a sport I'm new to dogs, never had one growing up and never really even had friends with dogs and I really haven't experienced any of this before, so it's all new
  13. Yeah the eye specialist told us that cammomile is the best for mild conjunctivitus, make it up[ and cool it in the fridge and wipe over with a cotton ball or eye makeup pad
  14. Wouldnt that only apply to the levels above novice? Being that you dont have to have CCD to go for novice?
  15. the video is under lock and key to be brought out at a later stage! I contemplated going in the ring with Molly with a paper bag over my head so people wouldnt recognise me after it! ETA yeah on his recall
  16. Yeah not many passes there, maybe it was the day for naughty dogs in that ring! lol Jules, one of the instructors descibed it as followes "if dogs could stick their finger up thats what Ed would have been doing" Long story short, he did a run as he has lately decided that is lots of fun, and I grabbed him then tripped over the ropes and let go, to which he thought was awesome and had another jolly good run, OH was sitting videoing it for me Molly in comparison was an angel! I was so proud of her, just got to work on her heeling a bit more, but her exam and recall were fantastic, I went in knowing she was no where near ready, but CCD isnt much different to the class she is in so might as well do it
  17. Ohhh thats what my judge told me on Sunday Good luck Ishy, which trial is it?
  18. You guys did so well yesterday!!! I was so excited when you won both! Almost made up for my own embarrassment (anyone want a 2yr old male? free to any home lol) Though Molly was a good girl for a few of her exercises, and both Molly and Cosmo were extremely good when the horses rode down the road and the other dogs broke their stays! As for the comments made to you in the agilty ring, was quite obvious that there is different treatment given to different handlers and many varying degrees of encouragement, not nice at all, and I really wonder what they think they will achieve by doing it
  19. We go to lure coursing occasionally, and we have 2 cats, it hasnt made them chase the cats. If the cats had a plastic bag tied around them might be different
  20. Pretty much, as you need to get them to bark to teach them to bark!
  21. Well done! It feels great doesnt it? I love teaching new things
