Blood In My 8 Week Old Cavalier King Charles Poo

pups poo has been solid If the poo is very solid sometimes they can strain so hard they burst a blood vessel which can result in some blood in their poo. Is your other dog a cav or a cocker? -

If you post a picture of your pup we will be able to tell you what you have. Has your pups poo been solid? Runny? -
I'm looking forward to Sunday, I hope she behaves herself! I'm interested in who the other Field is thats going.

SnT - yeah I am, stink reappears in less than 24hrs. Danois - I'm thinking Artemis just isn't for her. Was thinking of trying EP. Yes the protein % does matter too, she had uneven bone growth on Advance as it was 32%!!! Ideally her food should be 28% or lower.
-
To be honest I doubt that's the problem. My two have very solid poops on Artemis. Beet pulp is a cheep filler in dry food advertised as a good source of fiber but mostly it's just a filler. A great source of fiber are psyllium husks My two adults are on Artemis Maximal Grain Free with solid poops and no issues. Shes getting psyllium husks twice a day - no improvement. ETA - I just know that some dogs react differently to no beet pulp in their food.
-
I'm also guessing her poo is not as solid now due to the lack of beet pulp in the Artemis food.

Kennel Cough - Keep Quarantined/no Walks?

Also if you do take your dog to the vet, leave it in the car and inform the reception that you have a dog with KC in the car and the vet will come out to you. -
well- get a mince with lots of bone in That way he is getting the calcium carbonate hardening the stool- and no risk of damaging his teeth . Yeah the mince I buy has bone in it. Damn stinky dog

I've taken her to the chiro - no improvement, if any its worse! Fields are notorious for having soft enamel - bones are not recommended.

Hello helpful DOL people. My field pup Morgan has horrendous anal gland issues - they need to be expressed every couple of days and she just generally stinks. I've tried to bulk up her fibre content by adding psyllium husks to her breakfast and dinner but I haven't noticed any improvement. I'm wondering if her diet is contributing as originally she was on Advance Puppy but its got too high a protein content and she was growing unevenly. I changed her over (gradually of course) to Artemis Medium/Large Breed Puppy which is a super premium and contains different carbs and less protein - would this have worsened her anal gland situation? I was going to take her to the vet to see if he has any other things to try but thought I would ask the masses as well. Thanks!

Damn you serious? It irks me when they don't acknowledge RPL because the units aren't identical, especially when I've got 4 years of study done thats probably more in depth. Oh well.
-
Ahh thats very handy to know that they would considering RPL. I have done a degree previously so I'm guessing I would have some RPL up my sleeve.
-
Yeah only some shows in NSW do it - for example the show this coming Sunday hasn't done it. I prefer it when they do.

Thats me all the time!

Nice Bindii - Fletcher is standing nicely.
-
Morgie likes chucking hissy fits when I go to stack her - Fields do a thing called chocolate custard where they just drop to the ground like a blob. ohhhh I sooooo want to see that Its so embarrassing!

Ahh ok thanks! I was beginning to panic I was a number short! I won't be hard to miss, I'm the one with the naughty Field!
-
Ok newbie question! I've got my number for Sundays show - am I correct in assuming we do not get a number for sweepies?
-
I get to pick up my new show trolley tomorrow
-
I learn more every time I go to training. Morgan even chucked a hissy fit for Luci and showed exactly what she did for me in Group the other week She free stands really nicely just won't stack and hold it for long.
-
Will definitely take you up on the offer Pooey if I do the course, especially with that gorgeous Field pup in your sig Yeah well I definitely do want to do it at some stage just depends on the monetary situation. Uhoh you're going to steal Morgie!

huski - you can always crash at my place for the block sessions, I live 2 mins up the road from where its held. Who knows I might be doing it at the same time!

Surely a kennel could come up with something better than Chum. I'd be pretty pissed if I was paying good money for my dog to eat crap in a can. Eventhe thought of cleaning up after chum fed dogs is repulsive. Eew! If I had a difficult eater (which I don't ) I would supply my own food, rather than it eat Chum <<....shudder. We use Pro Plan or Eagle pack dry for the boarders at work and rarely get a refusal. A smidgeon of Natures gift or Eaglepack canned soon tempts those that are a problem. And when they won't eat natures gift either? Then they got Chum...the majority of those dogs were eating at home too. This is not what the majority of dogs got - maybe 1 dog a month that had issues and wouldn't eat. Some dogs even came in with their own PAL or Chum...And they hardly got a whole can of it - just a spoonful mixed in with good quality kibble so they would eat that. I wasn't the one paying the bills for food, what I would have done differently food wise I didn't have the bosses permission for...again another reason I dont work there anymore. So, you fed something other than what the owners requested? Went to the trouble of bringing in a specific dog food, but you changed it because YOU think its crap? Don't know why my reply disappeared when I posted...but here it is again... The owners that bought in tinned food (3 regulars) did so because they got the food at home and wanted it mixed in with the dry food the kennel provided. I assured them all the time that there was tinned food on hand that would be provided at no extra cost but they liked to bring in their own. I would never give a dog an entire tin of chum - it would go straight through them. Happy Squid... no, nice back pedal. Wtf are you on? Have you run a kennel? Do you know anything about how I run a kennel? If owners ask for food to be fed I feed it - but I'd never give a whole tin of food to a dog. Kennels are highly stimulating environments, it would go straight through them. Oh wait I get it...you just like picking on me...whatever Squid, grow up.
