  1. I have had reproductive work, and cancer treatments done at this clinic. I would not use any other speciast centre. The staff and specialist are enthusiastic, energetic and professional. Erin I hope all goes well with you puppy.
  2. I have Neos. Tacking down the prolapsed gland does not generally work with Neapolitan Mastiffs due to the loose connective tissues and third eyelid cartlidge being to loose to retain swelling etc. However The best option for most breeds it to tack the prolapsed gland back in position. Removal of the gland can assist in future dry eye. There is an exellent specialist at Underwood, not sure of him name though. The procedure is not a difficult and can be performed by comptent vets.
  3. We dont have EP Holistic Large breed Puppy. Mistake on web site to be ammended. Should be Premium Large breed puppy. Caninecountry
  4. Canine Country Pet foods. $5.00 delivery Brisbane area. www.caninecountry.com.au
  5. Enduro Full Boar is a kangaroo based protien, I think that most of the Enduro range is Kangaroo based protien. They are not Super premium foods. But Full Boar is 27% protien and 17 % Fat.
  6. Canine Country have both Nutro & Eagle Pack. and delivery across most of Brisbane.
  7. Unfortunately yes, there is limited availability of Nutro in Australia but it is spreading A couple of the online stores now stocking Nutro do ship interstate etc. if interested it would be worth contacting them to find out. Can't remember the details but if you do a search on Nutro these sites have been listed before. happystarz - at the end of the day I'd be initially feeding what the breeder was feeding. If you don't like the results you can gradually change your little one over to something else. At the end of the day we all have our opinions on what is good & bad and that is what it is 'peoples' opinions' some can be backed up with facts - others can not but different dogs/different breeds all do well in different foods. For example my MIL has a border collie whom she feeds (in my opinion) one of the cheapiest, nastiest supermarket foods available. This is something I would NEVER feed my dogs and I cringe when she talks about it but you know what?? Her dog looks fantastic and because of that we can't convince her to change foods ... Go Figure CANINE COUNTRY PET FOOD will have it next week.. 07 32082849
  8. Try Eagle Pack Holistic Anchovy, or duck, Dick Van Pattern Natural Balance Organic or posibly Nutro Choice All of these are good and have good info on web sites.
  9. I have Maintinence Senior in stock . Canine Country Phone number removed - advertising
  10. I would also highly reccomend West Chermside , For specialist, reprodictive or difficult problems. They are not cheep but next week we can get more money, much more difficult to replace your mates.... I have spent thousands there and dont regret one cent.
  11. To the person who made this quote, have you opened a pet supplies store? And, if so, what is your secret for getting all this financial help, as we certainly don't get it! Yes, I do own a Pet Food and Supplies Store. I do not get financial support from any of these companies as i wish to remain independant. I have been involved with larger stores that have had shelving and advertising supplied including full facia paint advertising. Some of the condition can become restrictive. Try asking or offering signage right to a single brand. Eg Science Diet, Eukanuba or Purina.
  12. But isnt there the issue of the deadly preservatives that were found in "Pet Mince" (220, 221 etc ) the same with these patties? i gues its all down to trust, but wholsomely all you can do to assure ur pets are getting ALL and ONLY wot u want them to get is by buying the ingredience optimally human grade and makeing there meels urself right? Frozen products do not require any preservatives, all items tested and requiring preservative 220,221 223 etc were long life refrigerated item such as vacuum packed meat, etc. All frozen stored meat products can be presevative free, roo turn darker without presevative but is still ok as long as it is stored frozen and used within 24 hrs of thawing. All Barf patties are stored frozen.
  13. Why is it that the popular premium food also have massive advertiising budgets. They will fit out your shop, paint massive advertising, do huge promotions and offer expensive insentives. This money has to be add into the cost of the foods. This also add to the doubt over the actual cost and quality of base product in the food.
  14. Buy Fresh from the maufacturer, Some of the smaller fresh meat maufacturers do care. I welcome customers input and they are welcome to see the processes, and raw products. Fresh food manufacturers are required to comply to foodsafe same as human processing plants. Not everybody can be pleased by we try.
  15. I do have my reservations about premium food companies using prime cuts of meat....I have heard stories being quite the contrary. They do use prime cuts , Prime Frames, Prime Offal, If it comes from a Prime cow then it all prime beef !!! If it come from Prime Chicken then its all Prime Poultry!!! Bullshit is Bullshit whether is from a prime bull or a steer.
  16. If dogs were ment to eat biscuits they would have evoled to be bakers!! Eat More Meat
  17. Do the say "preservative free" or " no added preserative". "Preservative Free" the product should be free of preseratives.. ""No Added Preserative"" the manufacturer of the product did not add preserative, the raw products may have still contained preservative, this is also the case with dry foods.
  18. Canned food are around 70% + water, they have little nutritional value, protien usually less than 7%. (Fresh Beef /Roo /chicken all over 20%). But work well as fllavouring for dry foods etc.
  19. I persnoally am not a fan of the Super premium puppy foods. I cannot comment on Eagle Pack as i have not seen it. But through several years of experiance with Neo Mastiffs i have found pups raised on Science Diet or Eukanuba tendered to be leaner and taller than pups i have kept on Supercoat puppy .
  20. Sadly Tia - thats right and sadly its also right about animals. Especially when so many cases of reactions go unreported - because either the owner doesnt know it was a reaction, the vet tells them it wasnt a reaction, or (as in my case) the vet tells the owner it is "normal" and "happens all the time, nothing to worry about". Well, Id have to say Im still worried dealing with allergies and health complications 3 years on. Doesnt seem to be a "one in a million" thing to me - I know several people in Australia who's dogs have had severe reactions. I would definately be checking whether the vet reported this to Fort Dodge. Im guessing that they didnt because they wont admit the death was caused by the vaccines. And this is why the "statistics" are so unreliable. Jen Jen I believe this what you say is right on the button. This is why i started this suject. I to believe that there is a lot of unreported deaths directly or indirectly related to unsafe vaccines. I have since found many cases especially in large breeds that have had pups vaccinate only to get parvo within days of vaccination. Some have lost several pups from the litters. One of the common links seem to be Protec Vaccines from Fort Dodge. I will be incontact with both the vet and Fort Dodge today. If enough people jump up and down some thing has to give.
  21. No an autopsy was not done , I breed the pup, I was not notified untill 2 daysafter the death. I ask the owners the had not got one done. The Pup was in the care of the vet after it was revived and the vet could not explain the complication, and advised the owners of the pup that it was not caused by the Vaccine. But cuold not explain what was causing the complications with the pup either, They advised the pup to be put down. I am waiting for the vets report.
  22. I SUPPORT THE VACCINATION OF DOGS!!!!! But if there is a risk how big is the risk, how many pup are killed from bad or cheeper options. Are there lower risk vaccines. My personal vet will not use The Fort Dodge C4 because of the adverse reaction from this perticular vaccine and carrier. There are other option eg CSL.
  23. If i took my child to the doctor for a vacc and they died soon after. I would not just accept it and have another. Why should i just accept it with my dogs. If this is accouring on a regular basis the should there higher standards set. I know that there are alturnative options such as CSL vaccines which i only use. Unfortunatly the new owner of the Neo did not. If it is a single case then i accept this as an accident, if it is not a single case then question should be asked. It is not about weighing up odds, its about remooving the bad eggs.
  24. Reciently one of my pups was taken to the vet by there new owner. He was given a C4 vaccine 9 hours later he died. The pup was a 12 week old Healthy in all other respects Neapolitan Mastiff. The vaccine was Fort Dodge Protec C4. Although the Vet denied that the vaccine caused the death, They could not explain the reason for the death. The pup was resusiteted and survive another 5 Days before the vet put the pup down. Has anybody had similar experience with vaccination.
