Rottweiler Health Issues And Nutrition
oonga replied to kiahzen's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Dru, Until Troy decided whether this sub forum will stay or not, no new topics can be started. I think this particular thread though was not made with the intention of discussing our sick puppies. There is another thread to fill that purpose. The sub heading of this one includes diet, along with health issues. I don't think anyone would see you as sabotaging this thread if you discussed any of those issues :D -
Staffyluv, i think it is very nice of you to make that offer and come and show your support. I am sorry to hear of what you are going through with your boy Ollie You guys are being an amazing team!!! Big healing hugs to him :D
-
ok Grumpette, so i guess relatively speaking she is fine give her a hug from me anyway :D

not sure about the spot she is using to hide, perhaps it is where she feels she can hear best? also maybe she can feel vibrations best in that spot? like i need to see people's mouths when they talk, or i will position myself in places where i will hear better, or i like to be on certain sides so i can hear better. It could just be something like that? just guessing here. The other thing is perhaps scents are stronger from the outside world for her in that place and she is relying on her other senses more if her hearing is not that good anymore?
-
Bluepoppy, I don't know if hearing impairments would be the same in dogs as in humans? but i know from my perspective sometimes i can hear noises sounds etc... I just am unable to identify them. So for example i may hear the dog next door barking, but to me it will just be noise so i am often asking people around me "what is that noise" not just in regards to dogs, but that was an example. It could be a car or train or a party ..... so perhaps Kiesha can hear sounds but not know what they are and that they are not a threat so she just perceives them as a threat? i remember ages ago i had myself really freaked out cause i kept hearing foreign sounds but for the life of me could not work out what they were?? I was alone. by the time David came home i was a bit stirred up. It was just people next door listening to music
-
Bluepoppy, how long do you think her hearing has not been great for?
-
yes i told Bluepoppy in msn that she would smell an infection. but at the same time i think i am a bit in denial and would prefer to think of it as an ear infection rather than pain from the cancer Unfortunately deep down i do think cavNrott is correct and that it is not an ear infection. Sorry guys, i know you all need strength right now, but sometimes it is so hard to see you and your dogs go through this. This is why sometimes i have that whole denial thing happening i think. Like i said to ZnQ just when i think i have come to terms with it all and accept the situation some of our puppies are in, something happens to rattle that belief and makes me realise that i have not truly accepted it at all I would totally understand if you all asked me to stay out of this thread because you don't need to put up with my sadness too!! I do try to be strong for you all, but it is just soo damn hard. I know that is silly because if it is hard for me then it is unbearable for you all!! BIG hugs to you all and extra tight ones for you puppies!!
-
Bluepoppy, could it possibly be an ear infection?? although from what cavNrott says it sounds as if it is a symptom of the illness?
-
RottnBullies, i am so sorry to read of Tyson  May he rest in peace. to you
-
cavNrott, how is Sophie today? is she coping with the heat? is the day after her chemo day a more upbeat one for her?
-
Seeing as we have a Sub Forum, I thought i might start a thread for our sick puppies. I thought so it does not get lost amongst the general rotty thread we could send our thoughts and prayers to the rotties we know of that are unwell or dying. It could also be a place for owners to come and give us updates and also a haven from all the chit chat and irrelevant stuff that goes on in the general rotty thread. I understand at times scrolling through all the silliness can get tedious at the best of times let alone when going through trauma with sick puppies. So I will say BIG Healing hugs to Sophie, Kiesha, Zed, Baylee and Sinna. If i have forgotten anyone please do not be offended it was certainly not on purpose!! Comforting hugs to cavNrottm Bluepoppy, ZnQ, Grumpette and Griff

Erny, Don't worry about Jeff Jones's attitude he is SO jealous he cant join us for summer school!!! actually he did tell me he was considering coming down for tomorrow's class Tonymc, Erny should be back on line by now i am not sure what she is doing
-
Erny is fine. Her internet is down though although i suspect she will be having withdrawal symptoms not being able to get online!
-
Hi Guys, I have been asked to make a post to inform everyone here that Erny will be offline indefinitely. So she will be unable to answer PM's, emails etc... If anyone wishes to make contact with her this can still be done via phone smile.gif Cheers, Oonga

so the high protein level is only an issue while they are growing is that right?
