<How old do you think he should be before i have the operation done? > I would be guided by the vet.
-
I got mine from a dental technician I asked her where I could buy one and she brought one in for me.
-
<they are related to Pets Paradise though> Yes same company

<But if you cross a longhair with a shorthair to produce a longhair carrier, the coat is a bit different. Looks like a shorthair but it's a bit thicker. It's called 'stockhaar' and is a medium top coat with a light undercoat.> Aaaah I see (said the blindman to his deaf daughter....)

I thought they were long haired or short haired?

Awww I love Mistral - how cute is he?!

Cherish (10 wks) loves toys on ropes. Bree (nearly 2) still adores her fluffy monkey she had when she was a baby. She used to cuddle up to it to sleep. She now flings it around and it no longer has a nose. Ingrid (6 yrs) 'kills' anything with a squeak! Lacey (3 yrs) rarely plays with toys. My house has toys of all sorts all over the place. Fluffies that I've bought at the op shop, rope toys, nylabones.... I guess it would depend on the breed as to how tough the toys need to be. I have given mine old socks tied with a knot and they have loved playing with them but a visiting dog swallowed a sports sock whole

Poodlemum I think we need a photo of Thorpie!

As long as she has been vet checked fine and is catching up to the others I wouldn't be at all worried. Sometimes one pup is a bit smaller.

<i just rang the breeder he said he was feeding home brand dry dog food from the supermarket is that ok or should i stick with Optimum dry dog food. > Sorry not too impressed with the breeder.... Optimum would be better.
-
Why don't you ring the breeder and ask what brand of food he was being fed? My pups always go home with very clear feeding and care instructions and enough food to last for a while and toys to help them settle in.
-
<found a place in geelong (aprently they have one in dandenong too?) that stock Innova that dont sell animals...> It's not Pet Goods Direct is it? They are owned by the same people as PP. As far as I know they are the only ones who import the food.
-
I won't buy Innova cause I won't shop where they sell it. What did your breeder feed the pup?
-
<All i'm saying is this dog is nothing like they say about the breed they say there intelligent, fast learners, gar to please i'm not finding this to be true with Bomber his the complete obbisite. I take him outside every 10 minutes sometimes he will go and sometimes he won't. He won't even go outside on his own i have to pick him up which then if he knows his going outside he runs from me.> You are describing the behaviour of a confused and scared little pup.
-
<Einstein is fine with Bomber now i can trust einstein now since he knows he is still the dominate dog.> Please do not trust them together alone. Bomber is a small pup and if Einstein gets annoyed he could do a lot of damage. With all the doggy dynamics in your household I think Bomber may be a bit of a worried pup....

Furminator Or Mars Coat King For A Husky?
Gretel replied to ~*Shell*~'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi Shell, Do you have a force dryer? -
Yes I'd be giving the meat roll a miss A sharp sound works better than 'no'. I find a sharp 'ah' or something like that more effective in getting their attention.

Glad all turned out well, Bulldust :D I have my first ever singleton at the moment. I'm sure she thinks she has a two legged mum and a four legged one. I've just started taking her out to meet other dogs and she shows very little interest in them but is very eager to talk to the people.

<Stop press I just realised something! Because Beau is a deerhound his little mouth is underneath, like a shark, and it is hard for him to pick up solid food out of a deep sided bowl, I put it onto a flat plate and he gobbled it up straightway!!>
-
Whenever I have a bath Bree appears beside me and I have to hold up handfuls of hot water for her to drink. She usually gets it before soap :D Maybe if he is being a bit fussy with food try him on three meals instead of four? That way he should be a bit hungrier by the last meal. Cherish is 7 weeks old and has three meals a day. Breakfast is about 6.30-7ish, lunch at 1pm and then dinner at 9.30-10pm. She goes better through the night having a late dinner. I know she is a smaller breed and her mum is still here but I'm pretty sure she's not getting any milk from her anymore.

So sad - just a baby I am sorry for you.

<How much and how often do people feed them ?> Mine get them every now and then Cavanova. When I'm buying necks etc I'll get livers and hearts and toss them into bags in the freezer. The girls would eat a liver each on their tea whenever I throw one in. I don't think they'd complain if they got them more often but they can be a bit laxative...
-
Mine love them but I have had one girl who was a little bemused at first. I smooshed the liver up well (ugh!) and rubbed it over her chicken necks and she ate it like that. After a couple of times she ate them as long as they were chopped up a bit. I feed chicken hearts quite often and they'll all loved them except now Bree has decided she doesn't like them anymore. But then she is not as mad about eating as the others.
