Petcetera at Vineyard sell it and they are often at Erskine Park at shows. http://www.petceteraetc.com.au/index.html

Did you find out what it was, Nicole? How are they?

Would it be worthwhile trying to put a sock or bandage on her other front paw so she gets busy trying to figure that out and might use the injured leg without thinking about it?

My Cavalier Baby Limps Occasionally...

Yes it does sound like arthritis. Is your dog overweight at all? If so getting some weight off will be a big help. You could try him on some glucosamine to see if he benefits at all. -
Sounds like she is really getting it. Well done!
-
Yes both are said to be safe to use on her. I was in the same position a few weeks ago. They say they are safe but I really didn't want to use any chemicals if I didn't have to.... I treated my other two with Advantix but didn't end up using anything on Ingrid. I flea combed her several times a day and that kept it under control. Mind you I don't think that would work with your girls coat!

<In starting this thread I think I completely unknowingly created a bit of an unexpected rush for Lynda and her partner. > Hehehe yes I was part of the rush too! Bree is a constant chewer and scratcher so thought I'd try her on it. She's had 3 baths now and the scratching has lessened considerably and I've only see her chew a few times. They rang my mobile to get my visa number and let me know they were posting it that day.

Thanks for the replies people Maybe he is not getting enough stimulation. They bought him sight unseen and were very surprised when he turned up that he was so big! It really wasn't a good idea for so many reasons.....

I was hoping someone may be able to come up with some suggestions as to why my sister in laws dog has started chewing walls. Not the corners - right in the middle of the walls he has chewed big patches out He is an 18 month old mongrel (big labradoodle) that they bought at 12 months old. He is taken for walks, they do training with him and he has a younger little sister to play with. He has plenty of toys and company. He has done it three times now and twice they were actually at home and he was inside with them when he did it. He was in another room and they heard chewing so went to check what he was chewing and it was the wall. He has done quite a bit of damage. He seems quite happy and nothing out of the ordinary has happened that they can think of.

I buy lamb's fry for myself every now and then and slice however much I want for myself and then chop up the rest for the dogs. They have their's raw but I prefer mine floured and fried with bacon

I found the Furminator didn't suit Cavalier coats at all. I gave mine to my daughter for her cat. The Mars Coat King does a great job but definitely not daily. You can buy a rubber mitt from a cheapie shop for a few dollars that are good for gathering loose hair and the dogs generally enjoy being rubbed over with them. It is also handy for picking hair up from carpet! It wouldn't matter how often you used the mitt on her. As much as you groom her you will still find hair about the house - they do moult quite a bit.

Looks Like Junket Is Back On The Shelves
Gretel replied to mrsgrumblebum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My mum is really into junket and she has found a place that sells it. The email address is [email protected] 1 for $7 and 2 for $13 and I'm pretty sure that was including postage. -
<So Gretel, you don't think the Furminator would be any good for my heavily coated tri colour Cavalier. The one that you know and love > No I really don't think it would do much at all for her coat. If you happen to be coming up this way at all soon you are welcome to try mine (if I don't sell it to Greytmate first!). I'll just work out how much I paid for it Greytmate and get back to you. It's for a good cause

I find the Coat King wonderful for thinning out the coat without making it look awful. It sort of gets it under control! I bought a Furminator recently but I'm not at all impressed with it. Probably would suit a short coat better than a Cavalier coat. Anyone want to buy it?

2cavs I make snoods if you need one. You can see them on my website http://bibianna0.tripod.com/ $5 each plus postage

Are There Any Good Dog Food Rolls Available?
Gretel replied to ashan's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The BARF patties are good. -
Hi Kezza, The scratching is most likely just scratching...... SM is not something we see a lot of. I've had Cavaliers for over 20 years and in that time I have heard of only a few who may have SM. By all means ask your breeder about it and do some research. Some dogs do just scratch though.
-
Any chance the pup could go back to the breeder for a visit? Otherwise I'd find a kennel you are happy with.

<She got to meet Molly just before her surgery and she took photos of her to hospital in a little album, it really helped to get her through her recovery. So anyway, she was named for the organ that matilda believes she was > How cute is that?! Love the pic too.
-
Yep chicken necks are usually pretty popular! Just always watch to be sure they chew them properly and don't swallow whole. Lola did chew them well but when she was teething and her mouth was sore she starting swallowing without chewing and nearly choked on one. I'd love to know where the name Molly Kidney came from Too cute! BTW They are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels not King Charles Cavalier Spaniels.......

HI Kezza, As far as I know Innova is only available from Pets Paradise. I will not shop there as I do not agree with animals being sold in pet shops.

Some Cavs get a very different coat after desexing and some don't seem to change much. I sold two girls to a friend and warned her that they would probably get huge coats when they were desexed (their mum had a massive coat and she was not desexed) but they are three and still don't have much of a coat!
