18mo Whippet - Has To Toilet At Least 1x Per Night

I am in the process of crate training my whippets and things are going well

However,

18mo female is unable to go all night without going out to the toilet

If she is inside she lets me know and I take her out it is usually midnight - regardless of what time we go out for pre-bed wee's sometimes 10pm

We want them to sleep on the balcony and have been either crating or tying up our older whippet, and leaving the younger one free HOWEVER, little toad usually goes hunting at night and barks

Put her in her crate last night and she wet in there and then scratched the plastic tray out in the middle of the night causing me to have to get up, swapped the bedding and put her back, but the scratching continued so ended up letting her out when she was quite for a minute. Then she barked. ARRRGGGHHH cant win

What can I do to get her to last through the night????

Ok..

What is she fed, and when? When and how much is her last drink?

I have a little dog here who I have invited to sleep indoors at night.

Have found that if she has dry food as her evening meal... she will drink HEAPS and pee at least once.

raw food- one drink ..usually dry nights

Tying up a dog is never a good idea, you need either a very large crate or two smaller ones for safety.

I also wonder what she eats.

Another thought is that she simply does not like being in a crate on her own and the weeing is a sign of distress perhaps?

You could get a doggie toilet for the balcony or wee pads for inside the crate.
