Just remember: if you can't yell it, don't use it!!! :)

US comedian Bill Cosby used to advise parents to give their children a name that ends in a vowel sound.

Good for yelling out in a looooooong way, so the the sound carries to the kid who's probably 4 houses away.

Like, Annie becomes Annieeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Whereas Ann just stops dead.

All my dogs names end or are yelled in the "y" ending sound.. and I do it to other people's dogs too.

So FHRP's magnificent specimen of a male GSP named Polo becomes.. well you can figure it out.

Yep, I've had an Annie, Danny, Shelley & Gracie for that reason.

Angel soon found herself nicknamed Angie

Sometimes one syllable can be the drawn out, for yelling. Like our Nina Zena gets Nina Zeeeeeeeeeena

Just saw your similar example, FHRP. Great minds (er, mouths) think the same. :)

One sylable names can be stretched out, even without a vowel sound ending! Flynn often becomes Flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyn! :)

that's exactly my husbands thinking. he wants a name you can yell out that doesn't take forever to say...
