We have 2 JRT's and we worked it out to be just over $120 a month.

Dry, Wet, Treats and Worming

We don't buy toys any more - socks are their main enjoyment.

So maybe I should've added in socks in their price.

But they are my main hobby - my other hobby is running which (apart from sandshoes doesn't cost anything)

Anyone's husband play golf? I know that is an expensive hobby - that's my excuse anyway.

i spend more then i HAVE too moreso on accessory type things:

leather food and water bowl set $40

velour harness and leash set (designer only from america) $100

matching bow $11

grooming $60 a month

in terms of food she likes those VIP rolls for $1.50 and she's still on puppy dry food (and i give her raw bones and meat to mix up the foul meat roll).

i chose to spend the extra on her to have the nice things

I feed 2 golden retrievers and 1 chihuahua what I spend of them is

black hawk $80

raw meat and bones $240

vet bill $200

grooming for buddy $50

My parents reckon I spend way to much on my animals and want me to go back to cheap old bonnie and give them a bone once a week.

I kept track for a month once. Never going to do that again, I felt so queasy I had to sit down. I prefer not to know.

Same here! Let's just say if it wasn't for the dogs, we'd be in designer wardrobes and taking regular overseas holidays.

Our figure includes show entries, breed club memberships, etc so is higher than it would be for companion only dogs.

My dog is my hobby too. Our spend varies month to month (it also depends how often I get into Pet Barn lol).

Being a little dog he doesn’t need much food (goes through a bag every few months). I think I spend more money on good quality treats for training. He is also a bit spoilt with toys, although I admit I have slowed up on that since I have started swapping them around each day (they last longer and are more interesting to him).

I think his biggest expense is the walker – I work some VERY long days and would feel bad him not getting out of the yard! This year has been a shocker really – I worked some 80 hour weeks. Had NO energy for walks what so ever.

My OH complains how much I spend on the animals but he can’t talk – he has a money pit too (a race car!)

I did foster a family of cats. The litter bill topped the dog bill by a mile.
