The media may be focussed on the dog but thankfully, the Coroner will be focussed on Ayen Chol.

Agreed.

As for the determination of breed in such an inquest ...focusing on breed and not deed is what the issue is for BSL..but for this inquest I hope that the focus is on the fact that a family has lost a child, a little girl her life and what reasoable steps need to be taken so this doesnt happen again to any other family.

If it was a pitbull, the only reason one would be involved is because they are popular among irresponsible people (of course there are some good people that own them too).

I mean, I honestly believe BOTH my dogs are capable of mauling a child, especially now my Labrador. If a child came on this property, my dogs would likely attack.

However, I am very responsible, and manage my dogs very carefully, ie, its not going to happen.

Based on BSL logic, I think all dogs should be banned, indeed cars, airplanes, electricity, baths should also be banned. I love the nanny state!
