Toothpaste Seems To Have Removed Staining On Beard

I have recently started to brush my dogs teeth regularly. I noticed that his beard which was stained before is now almost white. I think it has something to do with the toothpaste. Does it do something to the pH of the saliva so that the staining dissapears? Is this the same effect as applying baking soda? Is it harmful to use the dog toothpaste on a regular basis?

My male Border Collie has brown/rusty coloured stains on both sides of his bottom jaw. Looks terrible. I'd love to know what causes it as my girl doesn't have the same issues. They are both on the same diet. I would like

to get rid of it. I did try a course of Angel Eyes & it went away but now it is back again & I don't want to put him on AE again.

I don't think it is harmful to use doggie tooth paste giraffez.
