Old Wives Tales About Pregnant Bitches

Was interested to know what peoples ideas or what they have heard in the way of old wives tales when it comes to knowing if a bitch is pregnant before the 4 week ultrasound .

heard a few people say that while mating a bitch if she will let him mate her one day but not at all the next....then shes pregnant and wont accept the dog anymore

last nipples closest to the back legs point outwards...pregnant

a small lump on the inside of the thighs...pregnant

any others ones that maybe personally have proven to work for youself a lot of the time ??

Back nipples pointing outwards has always proven a reliable sign with mine

Bitches of one family of mine will go out of heat very quickly if pregnant, not necessarily refuse to accept the dog any quicker, but once they do they go out of heat within a day or two (no more bleeding, swelling goes down)

Going out of season very quickly, and getting very sooky :)

white ring at the base of the nipple - for hairy dogs - lose hair around base of nipple

vulva still slightly enlarged after season

Going out of season - stops standing very shortly after mating where maybe she would tart longer if not mated. Very sooky and clingy

What about people who have had pregnant bitches that have given NO signs what so ever up up until they are clearly showing ??
