Another bad for pet shops

Outbreak of antibiotics resistant disease tied to pet shop puppies (USA). Seems they have been using antibiotics routinely for prophylactic purposes.

pretty standard procedure for all factory farms be it chooks, pigs, cattle etc.

as for us humans antibiotic resistance is well on truly a problem due to overused there too

It's not omly antibiotics causing resistant bugs, it's also the plethora of germ killing handwashes. Plain soap and water does the same job and doesn't create resistant bugs.

so true, killing off all the low resistant bacteria is just reducing the available gene pool of low resistance and creating the super bugs that are then complained about
